The year is 392AP, Year of the Sri-Kyruin, on the outskirts of the Arkthosian Empire a lone castle stands guard. Nestled some seven miles from the Quickmrror Mountains, at a high ground that overlooks a half mile wide cliff with a path leading down to the great Slash River.

The war with the Sri-Kyruin, has left the edges of the empire weakened, as they defend the Sri-Kyruin from within the empire, rumors have been spreading of foul monsters claiming the lands surrounding the Arkthosian Empire, due to their lack of vigilance over the surrounding countryside as they battle their own inner war.

The newly nailed scroll in the town square reads;
"The lord Ebonshield has sent this notice out all over the town, last night well most were asleep, an attack was launched on the town walls, it was later discovered that the attackers were a band of hobgoblins, ranging around fifty in numbers. The lord has declared that a group of hunters will be established to deal with this now eminent problem of goblinoids, as a clan of orcs has been rumored to have set up base nearby. These attacks wont go unpunished!"


A note nearby it states

Rules;
Starting level: 1
Starting gold: 200
A little AD&D mixed in, (don't worry no THAC0, mostly 3.5, but a few things to enhance game play will be added.)
Leadership feat is not allowed for this.
Anyone interested in playing a magic user class please talk to me first.
Myth-Weaver sheets are allowed.
Bonus experience will be awarded for-
Exceptional role-playing
Character committing a valorous act (saving someones life etc.)
If you roll a 1 on the dice to hit, roll it again for a fumble check.

I am giving you free-rein on what to do, caravan guarding, making war on goblinoids, helping in the war against the Sri-Kyruin, etc.

I finally make it to a city. My tribe's hunting grounds have been wiped out, and it's been days since I've had a decent meal. I've been holding onto some emergency rations, but I don't want to touch them if it can be helped at all. I must look emaciated and crazed by now, but I venture forth into the city. There has to be something I can do to earn a meal. I notice a sizeable crowd gathering together. Surely one of them must have some food for me. Brushing my ebony mane back so I look a little more tame, I tug on the hem of a stranger's coat. I look up into his eyes with my most pitiful expression possible. "Garoo?" I ask, hoping he has some food or money for me.

Within moments he is consumed by the crowd again.

((Heh, it's okay. It's kinda funny--he's a lion sub-species, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone mistook him for a canine. razz ))

I can't understand what the man says, but he doesn't seem too friendly. I don't think he'll be of much help. Perhaps I should look at what's at the center of the crowd. Perhaps they're gathering around a recent kill. I get down on my forepaws and push my way through the crowd. After all, the most insistent pup gets the milk.
