I know that doesn't explain everything, but its part of my story I suppose. You see, about four years ago a friend invited me to this guys basement to worship God. I had no idea what tp expect so me and my best friend went. I was blown away. There were about a hundred people packed into this itty bitty dirty smelly spider-webby basement. I thought that surely God could NEVER go to a place like that. The music started and I kind of swayed along while the room went nuts just jumping around. I thought everyone there was a bunch of idiots. I had never heard of being free in the spirit let alone experiencing it.. There was this heaviness in the air, a kind of energy under current. It brought goose bumps to my arms and made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I can only explain it as God. At that moment Mercy Seat by Vicki Vohe ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbuDlbx-_Ng ). To me it was a kind of sign.. The song talks about being in a dark place and all you have to do is come running to Jesus, because He is calling you. I gave my heart to God right then and there. I needed no further pushing. Right after that song Marvelous Light by Charlie Hall ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUJRZY2seCw ) came on. This first line says "I once was Fatherless." Haha, and that was true until I asked Him into my heart. The song goes on to claim that you are free. I by this time, was bouncing off the walls with everyone else. I got high off of Christ for the first time that night. I couldn't speak and I was stumbling about by the end of it. There's a certain lightness that you get when you are truly free in God. All that night all I could talk about or think about was Christ. xD Back in that Basement was a Power I have only rarely felt. God was in control there, Satan had NO hold over that place and the people in it. When you walked in, God hit you and knocked you back a step. All you could do was worship Him with all you had and know that was not even enough.
Maybe this is a testimony, but I want to share so bad. God shows up in the places that people don't expect. He can use anyone and anywhere for His plans. ^^;
