Shadow Hand

Shadow Hand was the title given to the second-in-command of the Sith monarch, or Sith'ari.

Later, members of the Sith Order would use it as both a title for the second-in-command of the Sith Master and as a term equivalent to an apprentice.

Adas' Shadow Hand would inherit the fallen King's holocron; while another Shadow Hand, many thousands of years later, betrayed his master to the newly arrived Dark Jedi, thus paving the way for the first of the Dark Lords of the Sith.

During the Jedi Civil War, after disposing of his master, Darth Malak made Darth Bandon both his apprentice and Shadow Hand.

The concept continued with later Sith. Darth Vader trained his own disciples, among them Lumiya and Flint, in the hopes of pitting them against one another to find a champion worthy of being the Dark Lord's own Shadow Hand.

The reborn Darth Sidious used the name for his campaign to retake the Galaxy.

Sith Marauder

"Is it battle that stirs you, to meet an enemy blade upon blade? Such is the way of the greatest of the Sith Marauders, who seek strength in war... and in rage."
―Kreia

Sith Marauders were a variant class of the Sith Warriors, specially trained Dark Jedi exceptionally gifted in melee combat.

Characteristics

Sith Marauders were fueled by hatred, rage, and cruelty; the Marauders would fill themselves with rage when entering a battle, entering a battle-fury fueled by the dark side. Thus, most Sith Marauders could duel any average Jedi, toe-to-toe, and win easily. Marauders cared little for the subtleties of manipulating others and lacked a deep understanding of the Force.

History

Sith Marauders reached their climax in strength during the time of Darth Traya, Darth Nihilus, and Darth Sion. Hidden in the Trayus Academy on Malachor V, these warriors were trained in great numbers along with other Dark Jedi trained there. However, most of the Sith Marauders were wiped out, along with Sith Assassins and Masters after the Jedi Exile fought through the academy to confront Darth Traya.

Sith Marauders participated in the Sacking of Coruscant during the Great Galactic War, engaging with many Jedi on the planet.

During the New Sith Wars, the Brotherhood of Darkness trained Marauders in the Honoghr Academy, Gentes Academy, and Gamorr Academy.

Sith Acolyte

Sith Acolyte was a rank within the Sith Order prior to Darth Bane's reformation. The term was used to refer to Force-sensitive apprentices who had only just started the dark path under the tutelage of a more experienced Sith Lord.

Known Acolytes

One Acolyte, by the name of Haazen, had served under Exar Kun's Sith Empire and attempted to use a secret Jedi society to rebuild the Sith under his rule many years later. That, however, became his downfall.

The redeemed Revan encountered several Sith Acolytes in the Temple of the Ancients on Lehon. These acolytes were trained under Darth Malak and studied the dark side of the Force in secret, guarded by a forcefield outside the temple.

Acolytes were trained by the Brotherhood of Darkness at the Dathomir Academy and the Iridonia Academy.

The character Gamblor, a Hutt Sith Acolyte, featured in Juo Deltar Faces Gamblor the Terrible, a holovid that was produced during the waning years of the Galactic Republic.

The rank was also used by Darth Krayt's reformed Order. It's use may have been similar to that of the earlier Sith. Krayt referred to himself as a Sith Acolyte in his apprenticeship under XoXaan on Korriban.

Sith Adept

Adept was a Sith rank during both the Old and New Sith Wars, similar to Sith Acolyte. The Brotherhood of Darkness trained them in the Dathomir Academy and Iridonia Academy. It was later used in the One Sith as an alternate form of address for acolytes.

Sith assassin

"Or is it the ways of darkness and shadow you seek, the power that comes from striking unseen and sensing weaknesses in your enemies?…the ways of the assassins of the Sith."
―Kreia

The Sith assassins were a sect of covert Force-sensitive killers secretly founded by Darth Revan on Malachor V during the Mandalorian Wars. Captured Jedi and Sith soldiers who were found to be Force-sensitive were taken to the Trayus Academy to be trained as Sith assassins.

Equipment and methods

"The sect of assassins that chase you feed on the Force…what he does is simply the pinnacle of what they could achieve, in time. And that is why they—and their techniques—must be wiped out."
―Kreia, to the Jedi Exile on Darth Nihilus.

The Sith assassins were unique because they preferred to ambush their intended prey from the shadows rather than engaging them in open combat. Almost always working solo or in small groups, they utilized stealth field generators and the rare art of Force camouflage to aid their surprise attacks. While some elite assassins fought with lightsabers, the majority utilized less remarkable melee weapons, such as force pikes. These stealth warriors were also unusual in that they drew their power from the Force presence of their prey. The stronger their targets were in the Force, the stronger the hunters became.

History

"It is a different war these Sith wage, a thing of silence and shadow. They strike from the darkness, hiding from the face of the galaxy, until all Jedi are exterminated. After all the Jedi are gone, then the galaxy is theirs, no matter whether the Sith or the Republic rules…it is the dark side that shall reign, unchecked. I believe them to be the result of… special teachings. […] Those Sith assassins can sense their prey through the Force—it is like a hunger. They feed… and grow stronger… when they are near Force Sensitives. The stronger their prey is in the Force, the deadlier they become."
―Kreia

During and after the Jedi Civil War, the assassins' primary purpose was to kill or capture Jedi. Upon successfully incapacitating a Jedi, the captive would be tortured until they fell to the dark side or died by the hands of elite Sith operatives trained in the art of torture and temptation, such as Atton Rand. By this subtle method of capture and conversion, the ranks of the Sith assassins swelled as the number of Jedi decreased.

The Sith Assassins reached their zenith under the leadership of Darth Traya, Darth Sion, and Darth Nihilus following the almost complete annihilation of the Sith Empire's Dark Jedi during the Sith Civil War. Based within the hidden Trayus Academy on Malachor V, the Sith Lords commanded legions of Assassins to hunt down the remaining Jedi throughout the galaxy. Their efforts proved quite successful as they very nearly caused the complete extermination of the Jedi Order.

During the New Sith Wars, the Brotherhood of Darkness trained Sith assassins in the Ryloth Academy, Umbara Academy, and Nar Shaddaa Academy. At least eight of the Umbaran Sith assassins survived the New Sith Wars, and joined Hetton's Anti-Republic Liberation Front. However, they were all killed by Darth Bane during a duel when they were brought to Ambria by Darth Zannah. The One Sith incorporated an agency called Sith Intelligence and Assassination.

Hand (One Sith)

"You will now be one of my Hands -- my own personal assassin. Henceforth you will take orders only from me -- report only to me."
―Darth Krayt to Darth Talon

Darth Krayt's Hands.

A Hand was a member of the One Sith around 130 ABY. They were Darth Krayt's most capable servants, trained and existing to carry out his will. They followed only his orders, and reported only to him.

By 137 ABY, Krayt's only Hand was Darth Nihl, having been given the post when his predecessor died unexpectedly during the Massacre at Ossus. That same year, he made Darth Talon, a Twi'lek Sith Lady, into his second Hand, a fact that displeased Nihl.

After both Talon and Nihl were grievously injured by Cade Skywalker, Emperor Krayt named Darth Stryfe as his new Hand to replace the demoted Lord Nihl.

Known Hands

* Darth Nihl's predecessor (deceased)
* Darth Nihl
* Darth Talon
* Darth Stryfe

Sith Fist

The Fist was a Sith Master who served as the supreme military commander for the One Sith. The Fist was appointed to the position by Darth Krayt. Until 130 ABY, the Fist was Darth Nihl, but he was then made into a Hand after his predecessor was killed at the Massacre at Ossus. As of 137 ABY, Darth Stryfe served as Krayt's Fist, in command of the Service alongside Grand Admiral Morlish Veed.

Sith Saber

A Sith Saber was a ranking in the Lost Tribe of Sith on the planet Kesh. A Sith apprentice was promoted to the rank of Sith Saber after they had completed their formal training under a Master, making the rank equivalent to that of a Jedi Knight. When a member of the Tribe obtained the rank of Saber, they were allowed to customize their robes and acquire possessions.

Vestara Khai's father, Gavar Khai, was a Sith Saber.
