After the great duel of Jaden and Yugi, the world of duling went back to being calm, the academies had thier normal rivalries, and the purchases from the card shops were steady. Then the whole championships became corrupt with duelists putting their entire decks, and duel disks on the line and going for the grand prizes. but these new darker forms of dueling were not created from the boiling boredom of a few players.
Two groups known as the Rival organizations or R.O.'s were using these high risk duels for thier own purposes to gather the cards they needed to rule the dueling world and dictate who had the right to duel from who did not. these two groups are known as the Duelist Illuminati, and the Duelist Mafia. The question that lies before the duelists in this new struggle of power, and dictatorship is what side do they take, and where do they belong, or will you stand against and try to stop these gangs with the few groups that stand, and submerge yourself within the darker side of the duelist world, risking everything. The true destiny is in the hands of the duelists, and if your willing your next move.
(Time period: I am setting these and the time period and reality in this "universe" of yu gi oh, yes in the series there was magic and Bakura did take the cast of the original series into ancient Egypt, but this sets as a bridge between GX and 5d's the magic and duel spirit stories are not applicable here, it is normal dueling, with holographic projectors. If we were to write the timeline for this it would be set when Yugi is an elger, if not on his last leg. The main cast, joey, chazz, Jaden, yugi, and the rest are older, since yugi is pushing 70 years old, jaden is late 40's to 50's, and Kaiba is well over 80. please keep to this Guideline. and please enjoy Rping in the story.)

I will be honest, everyone, I would like you all to use your characters from the main forum, the favorite RP characters thread, that way we do not flood our RP with alot of profiles. anyone is free to post here and help the story along.

Ryo finally gets home form the card shop, the strage deck form his locker on his hip. he does not see anything in the dark room as he stumbles around looking for a light. once he clicks it on he walks to the kitchen and pulls out a bottle of soda and an instant pizza an pops the frozen disk into the microwave. He then relaxes and its at his table waiting for his evening meal to finnish cooking.

 Aiko was already in the room and smiled as she watched Ryo stumble around and do his usual stuff. she then let out a chuckle "Ryo! I thought you'd never get home. I've been waiting all day." she laughed and sat across from him. She had always known him since childhood so she felt very close to the man "anything interesting happen today?" she asked curiously.

"Finally got my own deck, in lack luster fashion, Lightsworns, oddly enough they are not easy for find. not sure who left them in my locker." he reaches down and unclips the deck box form his hip and waves it in the air. "I jsut cannot figure out who sent them to me.

"hmmm i don't know either but sounds like an awesome deck." Aiko said with a smile. "much more powerful than my Twilight deck." she smiled softly as she looked at her Wicked Eraser card. "though mine have caught me out of a pinch a few times."

He laughs lightly as he looks to the ceiling re attaching the deck to his hip.
his eyes light up as he thinks of when he will regain the feeling of the championships. he closes his eyes and remembers. as he acknowledges his friend, "perhaps but remember that eraser is highly saught after by some duelists.

"yes i know, that's why I'm constantly studying and rebuilding my deck... and why I don't duel much. this was a gift from my deceased mother. I wont let anyone take it away from me." she then smiled as she glanced at his new deck. "but unlike me you're on your way to the championships again... I could never risk my prescious deck for such a thing."

Ryo looks at the deck as he remembers the championships, and what had happened, he shakes his head lightly as he puts it away, "I never would go back to those, not until that rule is fixed, And besides, watch the children who duel, and the fun they have, except for those that play for the other's cards. it seems to me that in the end there is little we can do. to change things but to jsut not even watch those tournaments, they kinda disgust me now." he leans over his table and begins to eat. his red hair falling over his eyes lightly, "and besides, light sworns, the rarest are to be kept safe. not in the hands of the greedy but there is still one card missing, a dragon, and when I locate it i will just duel as usuall, complete the loop of my deck and just duel for fun." his eyes light up as he looks out the window to he sunset. his face lighting up as the sun slowly decends into the ocean. he watches a few ship pull in and leave, new shipments wich meant another chance. he the nstands from his chair and sits next to his friend, wrapin an arom around her shoulder, "so, what has your life come to, sneaking into an unsuspecting man's house."

Aiko laughed softly "I'm going game designs now, working for Square Enix. I get paid well but my love for duel monsters is as strong as ever, but dueling is still another matter." she then leaned her head on his shoulder. "I also miss our childhood.... i came and went so fast. though I have to admit I'm quite happy being out of that orphanage." she said thoughtfully. "so how's your wok at the card shop?" Aiko asked curiously as sle looked up at him.

"ahh, yes, the orphanange, but who would believe I would go on to the champin circute and you would go into game desighn, I mean that is good, the others , well who knows what happened to them," He plays with her hair as he think to himself, "working with mr. Muto is as fun as ever, and with the coming championship game of Jaden Yuki Versus Fredric Owenson, who knows how that will go, then again The card shop will be swamped with buyers, and collectors trying to get some of those elemental hero reprints, and the X-Sabre cards." he sighs lgihtly, "then agian they would go for the sacred packs wich house some of the cards Yugi Muto once played. that would be something though to get Dark magician, or even that sorceror of dark magic, but still, They are from a completely different game then we have today, and Jaden is the last of the dieing breed. since syncro cards came out. but watch jaden use some special card in his deck to stop that problem."

"you think about it too much, nothing lasts for ever and this form of dueling is no different." Aiko said sweetly and closed her eyes, enjoying how he played with her hair. "just relax, and you're starting to talk to much again Ryo." she giggled and shoved him in her usual playful manner.

Ryo smiles to her as he looks down to her, his eyes trailing over her as he remembers something, the jumps up to run to his room, he remembered two cards he had gotten from mr. muto when syncro dueling started, as he went through the door and to his dresser he reaches in and pulls out a small box, and runs back to the couch, " AIko, check this, I got one pack right after I was tossed from the circut, and chelck this out," he shows her the card, Light's end Dragon, the winged serpenttine-like dragon depicted was both beutiful and terrifying. Ryo smiles to her as he pulls out another card, "and this, the counselor lilly, with these I can add them to the Lightsworns, and probably increase their power, since the syncro can easily be used to increase theattack of the synro she is used for." he smiles as he sits next to her again, but moves away slightly remembering he had accidentally elbowed her as he jumped to retriev the cards.
