I. What is my job?
Good question. The caster's job depends on what he or she is. A sorcerer or wizards job, in most cases, is to release hell upon enemies, completely destroy them, and quickly. A bard on the other hand, might be a manipulator of enemies, turn them against each other, scare them into fleeing, or trick them to stop guarding a treasure. A cleric seems to be a universal caster, capable of healing, damage, manipulation and much more depending on their domains. Yes, there are many other casters but I won't be talking about them, sorry if I've let you down.
Of course these aren't the only things those casters are supposed to do but it is the main thing they are found doing.
II. Wizards/Sorcerers
I know they're two different classes, but all in all they are very similar. The Wizard, on one hand, is the more patient, calm and powerful caster. He learns quicker because he has patience and does not seek power. So yeah, a wizard seems like they lean more towards good, and yeah, their are rogue wizards ((evil)). They would still have the patience and calm, possibly only as a tool to manipulate their allies to help them gain power. A sorcerer on the other hand has taught himself magic early on and seeks true power. They can cast many more spells per day than a wizard but learn slower. They may act spontaneously, self-centerly, and dangerously. They are more likely to run through a dungeon killing things and then asking questions later, where a wizard would be more inclined in trying to learn from his enemies to reach his goal.
As said earlier, this is just my look at them. Their are evil wizards and their are good sorcerers, just my 2 cents.
III. Bards
A bard is a charismatic person. They know much about the land, the history of it, and the people living on it. They however, seemed to be discredited casters despite their power. A Bard is unlikely to mainly focus on casting but they do have the option. They are most likely to use magic to manipulate enemies, trick them, or disillusion them in any way possible. A bards alignment can vary greatly on their past, I find neutral being the best option, especially as a gnome. A neutral bard finds trickery to be entertaining and wouldn't bother considering their targets alignment in a fight.
IV. Clerics
A cleric, similar to the bard, is capable of combat without weapons, but is not charismatic as the bard. A cleric is more likely to be seen casting than a bard. Their spells and domains will depend heavily on their deity and alignment, so think these things out beforehand. An evil cleric is more bent on corruption and destruction, while a good cleric leans towards protection and healing. Their ability to turn undead also is based off alignment. An evil, or neutral cleric following an evil deity, rebukes undead causing them to cower in fear of the clerics power. A good cleric, or neutral cleric following a good deity, turns undead destroying them. A neutral cleric following a neutral deity must choose between turning and rebuking, once the choice is made it can not be changed!
V. Nifty tricks
Sorc/Wiz: Cast "Enlarge Person" on an enemy humanoid in a tight hallway preventing their movement and allowing escape for your party. The distance put between you and the enemy might make all the difference.
Sorc/Wiz: Cast "Invisiblity" on an enemy and get your strongest party member to grapple them. provoke an enemy to attack that person and it'll hit the held target.
Sorc/Wiz: If fighting an enemy in a muddy area get an ally to trip them, drenching the enemy in mud, then cast a spell of "Transmute Mud to Rock". It'll hold the enemy to the ground, or cause slower movement due to lack of freedom in joints and extra weight. Of course this will grant some extra armor so it is best used as an escape.
Sorc/Wiz: Cast any type of fire spell on a body of water to create a mist your allies can escape in. Isn't it strange how alot of these spells help in escaping? razz

Here's one!
Sor/Wiz: Target any enemy and cast the following spells in order:
Transmute Flesh to Stone
Transmute Rock to Mud
Transmute Mud to Rock
Transmute Stone to Flesh
I'll leave you to cope with that mental image.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleric : Cast "Light" on some sort of sticky substance and then get some on an invisible enemy, it'll make them much easier to see and target.
Cleric + Druid: Get the cleric to cast "Heat Metal" on an enemy wearing some sort of metal armor. On the 3rd, 4th or 5th round. get the druid to cast "Transmute Metal to Wood". The steel armor will then become a flaming-wooden armor, burning the enemy unless they destroy it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bard: Cast "Ventriloquism" to throw your voice off in a room with multiple entrances to flush out enemies in the wrong direction.
((More coming later))
