Trip Hop has mad style. I like how it blends downtempo hip hop and electronica together. There are a TON of artists I listen to under this genre, but just to name a few, I like Soulstice, Esthero, and DJ Shadow. Both Soulstice and Esthero have great vocals that go well with the music. DJ shadow either will have a good chill beat or will every now and then put out a sick track to breakdance to, like "Highnoon".
So what are some trip hop artists, styles, etc. that you like to listen to? who do you like? don't like and why?

I love trip hop and downtempo.
My favouritest songs are "Inertia Creeps" by Massive Attack, "All In Your Hands" by Lamb, "Shine" by Cinerex, "Crusoe Takes a Trip" by Red Snapper, "Loop In Blue" by Halou... ohh there's so many

I still have to look more into this genre, but I'm loving what I hear. I'm digging a few bands that iLLVybe introduced to me... like Portishead, Esthero, and Soulstice.
I also dig alot of the more popular dudes too like Bjork, Beck, Gorillaz, Cibo Matto, and others.
Its definitely one of my favorite genres of music... just sooo damn hard to find out here in Cali.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if they are actually considered Trip-Hop, though I've seen them labeled as it. But continuing on, I've been listening to Massive Attack's CD "Mezzanine" pretty heavy as of late. It's some amazing work. The dark atmospheric bass sets the tone for almost all of their songs. Tracks like "Angel", "Inertia Creeps", and "Mezzanine" just give out a haunting feel. I would heavily suggest giving them a try.

I'd say some of the Sneaker Pimps stuff would count as Trip Hop - at least that's what some of the albums come up as on my iTunes - mainly 'Bloodsport'. I love these tunes they are really well produced.

Anyone know any other artists in this genre? My knowledge is very small on this subject.... and I know most of the illest stuff pumps outta the UK. I'm looking to get my collection going on wax as far as trip-hop, because hardly anyone plays it over here.

I like some of Jay Jay Johanson's stuff, especially the earlier albums.
Don't know how known he is in the UK/US though. I think France is more of his playground ^^

I dig that album above all their other ones, but a good contender is The 100th window. Massive Attack has been my love for most of my life! But as for trip hop i listen to nujabes a lot. As well as The Boards of Canada, Theivery Corp., Notwist, J-boogies Dubtronic Science, Telepopmusiq, DJ Design, K & D, Zoot Woman, Daughter Dearest and many many others........
