The old gods or old ones are the representations of universal constants. Even in the cold dark days after the beginning they existed. Not bound to one world or another they were drawn to Aluin by the war between the gods and Skorne. Led by he who can never be born or die the Ouroboros, and his mate the mother of Chaos Yagahara.( More the idea that to every rule there is an exception.) They watched the early days of Aluin as bystanders and enjoyed the struggles of the early races. When at last mankind was brought forth they decided to act.

Lacking the ability to incarnate into a human avatar the Old Ones needed a divine agent of their wills. Gathering their power they touched the mind of a single human. Within that human the planted the essence of one of their own, doomed to live as a human and be reborn until such time as another would take that gods place. While trapped within the cycle of death and rebirth the sacrificed Old One would serve their kin with no knowledge of their true self. Tricked into believing they were ascending into god hood the Old One would only relies the truth when they ascended and another took their place.

The irony that they could only truly affect the world when imprisoned within an ignorant host was not lost on the Old Ones. Over time they grew jealous of the others gods ability to affect the world and began a plot to change their say in the history of Aluin.

The Panthon.

Ouroboros the Constant.
Yagahara the Chaos (Yaga)
Briss the Beginning ( The Twins)
Zero the End ( The Twins)
Maw the Consumer (GARha'ruth;g the Devourer)
Horos the Controller
Sami the Truth
Blood the Conflict

Cults
At times small cults have sprung up to worship the Old Ones, but quickly die out as the old ones have little use for followers. Due to their nature only the extremely intelligent or the totally demented worship the Old Ones. Further lessening the usefulness of such cults. A good example is the cult of Zero who committed mass suicide via blowing their own temple to dust to please the god of endings.

( I know SWK tried to give them a Background but for any of my RP to make sense this is the history of the old ones i need. They are not based on my religious beliefs. More they are what I feel anthropomorphic representations of certain constants would be like. In other words TRULY NEUTRAL GODS.)

(Edit: Clarified What I meant by Chaos when it came to Yagahara. I'm now sure if this Loth is like the DnD Loth who is goddess of chaos but it would be funny to see a goddess feud over the chaos title.)

Ah ok, that is cool and good to have some further clarification on your machinations. And Lolth is mostly just the goddesses of... corruption which entails a society based on personal gratification (often at the expense of others)

Skorne is more the god of chaos, since that is what he wants to create to destroy everything.

I think that you said something similar to this, but the gods that I outlined are far more powerful, what with their own power and their legions of demons and angels and followers serving them. I just want to clarify that mine are dominant.... in a non ego sort of way of course.

That would be the point. They are outsiders. They lack the ability to influence the world. In person they should be far more powerful then any one god but the gods have armies and actual influence so the old ones are left to basically stew.

Example Old ones = Dragon ( old style. dumb, no magic, fire breathing dragon.) Aluin Gods = kings with large armies.

In the end king will always win in a fight.

Ok, gotcha. And most of the Aluin gods are not the type to fight, except Helm, he has no problem kicking someones butt once in awhile
