OK, so obviously this is for an RP. But what kind of RP? Well, I want an RP where anyone in the guild can play. Even Curse and Anarcho, if they decide to. It is pretty much the only place I would actually appreciate them posting.
So, what is the RP? It is about factions. These will be factions in a political struggle. A nice way to imagine it is that the RP begins in Russia, on March the 5th, 1917. Will this mean anything to most of you? No.
Basically, the country has been at war for almost three years. It cannot handle it, it couldn't handle it. The economy was in no shape for a war, and the country is against stronger enemies. The only reason your country has not been overrun is because of the allies you have on the opposite border. The workers of the capital have gone on strike and have forced the monarch to give up power.
With the demonstrations and strikes over, the leaders of the working class parties have appointed an Executive Committee of the Workers Councils in order to give the movement some direction, and represent the interests of the workers.
At the same time, a 'Provisional Government' has been created, until a new constitution can be arranged. This government represents the capitalists and the landlords.
So each member of the guild can control one faction. What I want to discuss here are ten points which will serve as a key to identities of the groups. So far, I have: 1: Do you support the war? *Yes, we need to defend the country. *Yes, we need to defend the new democracy. *No, down with the war!
2: When should the Constituent Assembly (the people to make a new constitution) be elected? *No assembly, nor a constitution, we want the monarchy. *As soon as the war is finished. *As soon as possible
3: What is the nature of this revolution? *It is a riot against a legitimate government. *It is a democratic revolution. *It must become a workers' revolution
4: What should happen to the land of the nobility? *It should remain their property to use or sell. *The state should buy it off them and rent it to the peasants. *It should be handed to the peasantry immediately.
5: What should happen to the factories being closed down due to strikes? *The owners can do what they want with them. *The owners should be forced to open them back up. *They should be hannded over to the workers there.
6: What should be done about the food problem? *The state should buy food at market prices *The state should requisition grain from the peasantry *People should buy food on the market
7: What should be done about the royal family? *They should be restored to the throne *They should be reduced to normal citizens *They should be tried for crimes against the people
8: How should arms be distributed? *Arms should be kept be the officers, to distribute to the military prior to a battle *Arms should be held by the military *Arms should be distributed to the working class
9: Where should sovereignty lie? *In a government to be decided upon by the Constituent Assembly *In a union of the Councils of Workers' Representatives and the democratic institutions of the country *In the Councils of Workers' Representatives
So... Any more questions that should be asked?
Also, it might seem obvious what the 'right' answer is, but ask yourself this: If you were actually in that situation, what would you say? Would you say "This is what should happen," or "We want something more, but this is the most we can expect in the current situation, best not to inflame things," "We want something less, but our popularity would suffer if we said so openly." That, or pick positions for the lulz. Try to be consistent in RPing your group, but you may find that you will be forced to change your policies during the course of events, or as you change your mind. Too many zig-zags will cause you to phaille hardcore, though.
Also, you should pick a class to appeal to: *The industrial working class *The peasantry *The nobility *The industrialists *The small shopkeeper, merchant, and large peasant *The clergy
The thing will work so that each IRL day is one game day. If you miss out, it just means that your group did 'routine' s**t, and if something major comes up, was left in the lurch. It also means new people can join in at any time, and that people can be inactive without the RP dying.
So, what other questions should there be? Any suggestions? Any questions about the RP itself?

You could ask about resolving food scarcity. A huge problem for the people at the time, of course. The various options would probably be best for you to write because you'd not be satisfied with mine, but you could cover worker co-operatives, relying supplies from overseas, or some other policies, for example.
Also, perhaps, what to do with the Royal family. Obviously, a monarchist answer is to keep them, but the historical answer is to kill them, a moderate answer would be exile, or appropriating assets and reducing them to normal citizenship.

Nokturnal Evisceration Im in, should I come up with a character now? Not just yet. I want to get more questions ready first. You can make up a faction sheet, if you like, but it won't be fully ready yet: Faction Name: Party: Choose one party from: {Monarchists}, {Constitutionalists}, {Agrarians}, {Majority Socialists}, {Underground Socialists}, {Anarchists}, {Non-Party} Members: 10 Class: Choose one from: {The industrial working class}, {The peasantry}, {The nobility}, {The industrialists}, {The small shopkeeper, merchant, and large peasant}, {The clergy} And then the questions with your answers. Also, thanks for the questions, Curse. I think I will go with: 6: What should be done about the food problem?* The state should buy food at market prices* The state should requisition grain from the peasantry* People should buy food on the market7: What should be done about the royal family?* They should be restored to the throne* They should be reduced to normal citizens* They should be tried for crimes against the people

Heres a question, ask what is their view on using violence. Are they non-violent, violent only when attacked, or revolutionaries?
Also I think it will be cooler if we 'create' our own factions, unless we are trying to follow history by the book in this.
BTW, did the provisional government use the military to put down riots the way the czars did?

Also I think it will be cooler if we 'create' our own factions, unless we are trying to follow history by the book in this. BTW, did the provisional government use the military to put down riots the way the czars did? You do make your own factions. You get to be a faction of your own creation either in a pre-existing party or outside the major parties. The major parties I have listed do correspond to the parties in the Russian Revolution, but it is important to note that this ISN'T Russia, and it ISN'T that revolution. It is different. There is no Lenin in this game. That place will hopefully be taken by onne of you lot. If not... Curse and Anarcho will win. Also, while I won't be following history, I will be using it as a guide for what the parties do and how the masses attached to those parties act or react. As such, I will be taking it seriously, and actually do expect the counter-revolution to win. 8: How should arms be distributed?* Arms should be kept be the officers, to distribute to the military prior to a battle* Arms should be held by the military* Arms should be distributed to the working class[edit] About your question: No. The Executive Committee of the Petrograd Soviet did... The provisional government had no authority, but the Soviets did, so the reformists in charge were forced to employ white terror against the workers. This period was known as [urlhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_Days]'The July Days' .

Does every person have to form their own party or can several people join their each others factions, I feel as if a lot of us would be on the same boat in terms of policy so to me it seems superfluous to have different factions if you support the same thing.
Gracc are you DM-ing this game?

Gracc are you DM-ing this game? More questions will come up as the game progresses, so that the questions will form a kind of record of how the masses understand the faction, and of how the faction understands itself. As such, there may be differences in the future. And while I doubt many people will pick any parties other than the obvious one, I expect that there may be a split in the future, as events show differences. And yes, I'll be DMing. And I'll be taking it seriously, hence my expectation that Curse and Anarcho, if they choose to play, will win.

I might consider joining, though I've never rp'd before.
I'm assuming global politics at this time are to reflect ww1? As in, our enemies resemble the Triple Alliance and our western allies mirror the rest of the entente? Just wanted to know for sure.

Faction: 23rd Infantry Division Faction Leader: Lt. Col Dimitri Vostrokov (I will be taking orders from who ever plays the role of the current administration) *Also heads up b/c I wont be able to make it for the first few days, just assume Im off fighting the war* Brief overview: Fighting in the front lines for the past few months, the 23rd Infantry has defended strategic points and has delayed the German Advance into Russian territory. Now with a recent surge in sectarian violence the 23rd Infantry is being called off the front and is to be deployed in Petrograd to put down riots and revolts. The make up of this military force is as such: The Soilders are mostly from the Industrial working class with a few peasants in there as well. Many of the troops are sympatizing with the revolutionaries back home because they feel that their solutions to the domestic issues are better than anything that the Czars and the provisional government have offered. LT. Col Vostrokov is the son of a wealthy landlord in the Novgorod region. He himself is actually against the aristocracy and the bourgeoisie (despite coming from it) because he says it is an unfair system. There are also rumors that Vostrokov has books by Marx and Engels in his library, though this has never been poven. I guess I will answer the questions from Vostrokov's point of view (most of which is kept secret and not known by his superiors) . 1: Do you support the war? *To hell with the war 2: When should the Constituent Assembly (the people to make a new constitution) be elected? *ASAP 3: What is the nature of this revolution? *There is no revolution, for now. 4: What should happen to the land of the nobility? *Turned to Farmland and given to the peasants, some may be industrialized and given to workers as well. 5: What should happen to the factories being closed down due to strikes? *They should be handed over to the workers there. 6: What should be done about the food problem? *Buy it from the Americans, arent their Midwestern plains loaded with crops? The rest we can grow ourselves. 7: What should be done about the royal family? *Public Execution 8: How should arms be distributed? *All Citizens should have the right to bear arms. 9: Where should sovereignty lie? *Divided between the Workers and the Peasants. Also, you should pick a class to appeal to: **The industrial working class *The peasantry
