Are youtalking about the play or the movie. The play is better than the movie.

The movie. G'duh.
It's only been in theaters for the past two months.

Anyone can say that the play is better than the movie.
But I can only guess that they would be very similar, because most of the original cast from the play act as their characters in the movie.

They cut out a lot of the play for the movie. Oh yeah, the play has been on Broadway and elsewhere for years.
