ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK... The entrance consists of a simple, thick metal door and reinforced frame, designed to protect against forced entry. A keypad is located above the door handle, keeping the door securely locked unless the proper code - which only Ethan knows - is entered. A small "4" is engraved in the door at eye level.
Inside the room there are various tables and countertops, with tools, incomplete experiments, and various other insidious-looking devices organized neatly on their respective surfaces. A boxlike table in the center of the room houses the main computer and AI that watches the lab when Ethan is away. The box portion houses the computer hardware and the tabletop doubles as the computer's touchscreen.
A lab assistant in the form of a segmented, snakelike robotic arm drops down from the ceiling wherever in the room and whenever it is needed. It is retracted entirely into the ceiling and not visible when not in use, reducing clutter around the room. There are multiple storage cabinets in the walls, enclosed by panels when not being accessed or used. That in addition to the hidden underground storage facility store chemicals, experiments, assorted tools and gadgets; many of which Ethan routinely uses in his experiments.
Ethan's living space and bed are confined to one small corner of the room. It contains little personal belongings and is usually neat and organized like the rest of his lab.

"Urusai..." he muttered as he gave the cage a light kick before opening a small trap-door style flap on top. He reached in, pulling out a creature that vaguely resembled a rabbit after rummaging around for a few minutes and holding it gently but firmly by the scruff of its neck. The creature looked like a rabbit but possessed clawed paws, short ears, and a long tail, all covered in dark brown fur. Its most distinguishing characteristics were a large hole through its chest and a white bone-like mask on its face.
After injecting it with a chemical that completely disabled its motor neurons, Ethan laid the now-limp hollow onto the tabletop. He reached over and picked up a scalpel lying on an adjacent table before turning his attention back to the hollow.
"You know, I read somewhere that insanity is defined as trying the same thing over and over again while expecting different results. So why do you continuously knock yourself up trying to escape from that cage?" Ethan mused to himself, making a casual one-sided conversation as he slowly sliced the hollow's abdomen open with the scalpel, as if he was unaware of the pain he was causing the poor creature. His cold stare was completely devoid of empathy.
"It simply isn't going to break, no matter how many times you try," he concluded as he brought a bone saw down on the hollow's mask and began sawing away with fine, controlled movements. The hollow's eyes could be seen rolling back into its head as it succumbed to the pain and lost consciousness.

*shiraiyuki came back from her walk in the menos forest and knocked on Ethens door.*
"Hey Ethan.....I know your in there so open up already and let me in."

"Open up, I suppose. We have a guest..." Ethan sighed as he motioned towards the door, turning away from the hollow on the tabletop. He looked towards the door as it opened with a mechanical hiss, and saw Shiraiyuki standing there.
"Yes, Shiraiyuki-san?" he asked as he casually kicked the cage housing the rest of the hollows under the nearest table.

"Tsk...thats some way to treat your pets......anyway....Oziel said we need to start finding the other espada....now......and I can't believe I'm asking you but.......come with me to the world of the living.....we may find some there."

"Pets? What pets?" Ethan tilted his head to one side, as if he had no idea what Shiraiyuki was talking about. He sonidoed over to the computer in the middle of the room and typed in a few commands on the large touchscreen. A snakelike mechanical arm dropped down from the ceiling and projected a green aura over the hollow that was currently being dissected - a crude form of life support.
"Anyways..." he said as he appeared with a small buzz of static next to Shiraiyuki. "Fine, I'll go."
I see no reason for me to accompany her, though... he thought as he waited for her to open the Garganta.
