Icecream is Your Demise Rank: One Antagonist: Mr. Polar NPC Accompaniment: Yes Souls available: Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE
North Carolina. A state that lied on the East coast of the United States, it was interesting and one of the few states that the Death Scythe had yet to visit until now. Nothing in particular caught Arashi’s gaze as he strolled down the sidewalk. Despite Raleigh being the state capitol, he did not see anything that specifically caught his eye. The sites and buildings were impressive enough, but none stuck out in his mind.
Well, not like Arashi was here to tour the city anyways. There was more pressing business to attend to. He idly tapped his fingers against his headphones while he passed a park full of giggling and tumbling children, their parents lounging and conversing with one another.
The familiar tune of an ice cream truck ringing in the distance, the man slowly turned his head towards the music. The children flocked to the vehicle, parents slowly following behind them.
He stoically looked away and flicked his gaze to his watch. The assigned pair would be arriving any moment now.

Talu spun around slowly, letting her eyes take in the different sights while Diemos continued to stare forward. Talu, herself had never really been anywhere outside of Death City and this was an interesting enough place. But she needed to focus soon, seeing as her and Diemos were to meet up with one of Shibusen's staff members for their mission they were there to complete.
"Isn't this place cool?" Talu smiled, clasping her wrists behind her back, her hands resting on her wrists.
Diemos looked down at Talu, raised an eyebrow before looking around a bit. "It's not too bad. Now if we had gone California or someplace like that then I might be a little more impressed." Talu scrunched her mouth to the side a bit before waving her hand at him.
Talu knew that might be what he would reply with but she tried to never let it get to her and it normally never did. She smiled as she looked at all the different buildings but, more so, tried to keep an eye out for Arashi, the staff member that they were suppose to locate... He was suppose to be near a park or something.
She was glad that she had dressed in her black tank top with the little '<3' sign on the front in red and her casual dark blue jeans. Talu sure wasn't gonna get cold, at least not with this weather! She grinned up at the sky before Diemos laid a hand across her face, said girl under the hand flailing slightly.
"If you don't watch where you're going then you might walk into a pole or fall down a man hole, just like those cartoons you watch." Diemos smirked, his usual British accent making him sound as arrogant as always.
Talu moved his hand off of her face, making a slight pout face at him. "I'm a little more aware of my surrounds then that, thank you very much!" She looked away from him before noticing the small park they were coming up to. Her emerald eyes blinked once before she smiled, waving to the figure that seemed to fit the description of Arashi. Headphones, violin case on the back. Yep!
"Hello, Arashi! Hope you haven't been waiting too long."

Usually, most if not all pairs were on time when it came to arriving to the meeting point at the designated time. Arashi had a habit of really much earlier than he had to. Whether it was because he preferred to be incredibly early than incredibly late or to simply meander around the particular town the mission was set in was unknown. Although he always did a decent job of blowing away hours, those last few minutes of waiting could get tiresome.
Standing quite a ways away from the truck, he swung his legs forward to take a couple steps and lean against a nearby tree. Careful to not damage his violin case, Arashi grabbed his headphones and was just about to slap them onto his ears when he heard his name being called. He brushed back his side bang and looked over at the approaching duo. ‘And so the two have finally arrived.’
Easygoing grin on his face, he pushed off of the plant and briefly waved at them. “Diemos and Talu, right?” Arashi said with twinkling eyes, amused at the rarity of their names. There was no way they’d encounter a name twin. “I assume you’ve read all the mission specs and stuff, so I won’t bother repeating the info for you,” he added and gestured towards the entire park. “Better hurry up and find your target now. I can’t really help unless you’re about to die, so good luck!”

Talu nodded with a smile. "Our mission is to take down a man that has been posing as a ice cream man and taking children then leaving them to die from drown in the streets..." She shook her head at the thought, her long raven locks swishing from side to side. "As horrible and despicable as it sounds, I want to take care of this guy." She clenched her fist and raised it with a smile, Diemos shaking his head a bit at her comment.
Talu gave a thumbs-up, understanding that Arashi would only be able to help if her and her partner were in any sort of mortal danger to their life. She looked around the area, her eyes noticing children and their parents in the area. A good amount of children were around so, as much as she hated to think of it, it was a good spot to try and find their target.
Talu's eyes narrowed as she heard a familiar sound coming from down the street. The tan-skinned girl proceeded to walk down the street, Diemos following next to her. "You hear that?" She question, not looking at her weapon but definitely directing her question towards him.
Diemos blinks once before looking around, closing his cerulean eyes for a moment. He could hear something... Music? He opened his eyes and looked down at Talu with a smirk. He knew Talu normally had music blasted into her ears but man, could the girl hear! They sped up their pace down the street, hoping that music would lead them to their target.

Arashi shrugged. “Death and killing is part of human life, I suppose,” he remarked, he was pleased to hear they were not nervous about taking another’s life, though. It would aid in accomplishing their task.
The technician girl grinned and threw him a thumbs-up and the two began their mission. As they threw themselves into the goal of finding Mr. Polar, Arashi slipped on his headphones and strolled away with hands in his pockets, whistling a tune to himself.
Sometimes the tinkling music was light and airy, soaring through the air. Other times the tune was gone, disappeared to who knew where. So long as the duo always had a pair of poised ears to lead the way, the musical notes led them to the man they had been searching for. At least, it seemed to be their target.
Appearing as any other worker in an ice cream truck, there were no sure-fire signs that this was the one. However, there was something odd about the sparkle in his eye and the unusual color of his strawberry syrup. After passing out ice cream to all the children that crowded around his truck, he waved good-bye and crawled into the driver’s seat.
The kids waved back and the crowd began to disperse.
They dispersed, until there was a cry at the sight of a sodden corpse behind the car.

The scream that echoed reached Talu and made her eyes widen. As much as she loathed that kind of scream, it made their target clear. She narrowed her jade-colored eyes narrowed as she began to run towards the truck where the scream had come from.
"Hey!" Diemos ran after her. "Slow down there. You need more otherwise your screwed!" He shouted before catching up to her, looking over at her with a raised eyebrow. "If you need to drag me, do that instead of just running off without me." Talu looked over at him briefly and rolled her eyes.
"Okay." She mumbled, her dark hair bellowing out behind her as they ran, making their way through the crowd of people. "Stop you!" She shouted at the truck, know that it probably wouldn't work but it never hurt to try.

It couldn’t hurt to try, but the odds of Mr. Polar actually stopping for her was near zero. When he heard Talu shout he popped his head out the window, hastily glanced back, and frantically searched for his keys, hoping to make a quick getaway. Failing to come up with the car keys, he grunted and threw open the car door, jumping out.
A sudden idea struck him and the man leaned forward to quickly pull out the handgun he had procured some days ago. People wouldn’t dare to try following him now, right? He hoped so. His eyes darted back and forth before he ran off, trying to get away while he still could. Mr. Polar sprinted as fast as his legs could take him, rounding a corner and disappearing out of sight.

Her nose twitched slightly and she stopped at the sight of the gun the man has pulled. Talu looked over and Diemos smirked before reaching his hand out to her, Talu smiling as she grasped it. He shifted into his weapon form, glowing orange for a moment before Talu ran after the other. She wasn't going to allow another victim to fall.
Thankfully, she was dealing with someone who didn't really have a... lean body so catching up to her target wasn't too hard. At least he was running away from more people and a possible cornering.
"Remember, Talu. We need to be careful. We only know what he does... People get desperate when they're cornered." Diemos commented as they rounded the corner Talu saw him disappear from.

Every few seconds or so the murderer glanced back to see if he had any pursuers; to his chagrin he did have one – a young girl that carried an odd-looking weapon in her slender hands. Deciding to not thick too much about it, Mr. Polar suspiciously narrowed his eyes at her peculiar presence before turning his head forward and urging his legs to move even faster.
In an attempt to fling the nameless teenager loose, he took many turns and darted in and out of alleyways, surprised at how far he could sprint when the situation called for it. However, it was not long before the man found himself trapped in a dead end. Protected only by a few measly pair of trash cans, their once dim silver now a ruddy brown, Mr. Polar grimly stared at the approaching technician. He flashed his gun at her.
“Better leave now, or I’ll shoot.”

Talu's combats boots 'thunk'ed against the cities streets as she continued her pursuit of the murderer. He sure seemed to be a tricky one but as long as she kept up with him, she would be able to follow the other. The technician made sure to keep Diemos's words in mind, knowing that people... Anyone is capable of anything and she needed to heed those words if they were to both succeed their mission.
Talu turned into the alleyway after Mr. Polar and stopped, her grip tightening on Diemos as she stared at the gun. "I'm not going to let you hurt anyone anymore." She brought Diemos in front of her, both hands gripping the hilt. Her emerald eyes narrowed as she stared at the man before her.

Mr. Polar’s hand firmly held onto his gun, his large fingers wrapping around the handle even tighter. Being chased had not been part of the plan. He told himself to cease his nervousness. Why fidget over a little girl? What harm could she do? Eyes warily wandered over to the weapon in her grip. Had it been an innocent girl foolishly following him he wouldn’t even be batting an eyelash at her. He could take care of her easily.
It was the fact that the teenager had taken a weapon with her. He had no idea what it was, but it could easily end his life if Mr. Polar was not careful. However, regardless of his feelings he would have to dispose of her. If he did not kill her then she would kill him. It was survival.
Without hesitation he pulled the trigger and felt his arm recoil from the force.

Talu's eyes widened a bit as she saw the man fire the gun. She dodged to the side, the bullet missing her by just a few inches. She fell to one knee as she caught herself with her left hand on the ground.
"Now, Talu!" Diemos shouted at her, her head flying up to meet Mr. Polar's terrified gaze. She sprung forward off of her right foot and rushed towards the gun-wielding man. Making sure to keep Diemos from hitting the ground as she ran with both her hands on Diemos's hilt, she brought her blade up to slash the other diagonally, across his body.

Mr. Polar swore as he saw the girl swerve to the side, missing the bullet. A bullet. How could she have managed to dodge a bullet? He tried to not dwell on his bafflement for too long and instead hastily prepared another shot. As he panicked to fire off another bullet he noticed the girl running towards him and he entered into a frenzy of panic and hysteria.
“No. No!” he shouted as he finally relinquished his grasp on the weapon. The metal dug into his skin, breaking the surface and blood gushed out in torrents. A ghastly scream and the man fell forward, his body already collecting a pool of red around his corpse.
Eyebrows raised, Arashi casually stepped into the alleyway with his arms crossed. “Well, I guess we can say that he was a lousy gunner,” he said with a chuckle. “Anyways, please collect the soul and the mission will officially end.”

Talu panted as she straightened herself, giving a disgusted look down at the corpse and the blood that covered her pants, shirt, shoes and her face. She shook out her arms a bit, the blood having covered them flicking off to the walls and ground before wiping her face off. Diemos shifted a few minutes after, looking down at Talu.
"You doin' okay?" He looked down and at her face, her emerald eyes looking a little dazed.
"Yeah... " She shook her head a bit before looking up and waving her hand off, signaling for him to go and collect the soul.
A smirk crossed his face as he looked at the soul before approaching it. Talu looked up as Diemos consumed the soul. She understood the look that he gave of delight as he consumed the soul and Talu was glad that Mr. Polar wasn't going to be harming anyone anymore.
Diemos came back over to Talu, resting a hand on her head. "You wanna sight see for a bit?" Talu smiled with a little nod.
"That'd be nice, sure."
