1. Maturity. Every member is expected to behave in a mature manner in all forums except the Guild's Chatterbox.

1.1. Respect. Everyone will be respected here, in every forum. This is a basic necessity for any society and this guild is no exception. If you are seen to be disrespecting another member, you will be warned. Multiple instances will lead to probation and, if deemed necessary, removal from the guild. If you feel that you are being disrespected or unfairly treated, please bring it to the attention of myself or any Guild Moderator.

1.1.2. Swearing. Limited cursing is allowed in this guild, so long as it is done in a tasteful way. What will not be tolerated by any measure is using cursewords against another person OOC. These posts will be either edited or deleted and if it is a recurrent problem it will lead to warning, probation and finally removal from the guild.

A little clarification on swearing: All Cursing IC is fine in moderation (ie not every time you talk), and OOC it is fine so long as it is not directed at a person or group of people, or something a person or group of people have done.

For example, it is ok to say "I had a shitty day",

Abbreviating does not alter this rule.

However, 'wtf' is subjective. If it is in direct response to anothers comment it is not acceptable, but as a general exclaimation, especially in response to something not in-guild, of confusion or exasperation it is tolerated.

Example: if you come into the guild and post something about having a bad day or a confusing event, it will be tolerated (ex. 'wtf is going on, everything is so messed up today...' here you are clearly expressing that you are upset at your day, not direspecting another member), but saying 'wtf did you do that for' would be unacceptable.

Cursing at oneself will be tolerated but expect for people to comment. Ie. it is ok to say 'I feel like an a** for saying that' or 'Fml'. In this case you are abusing yourself, sometimes in a ironic or comedic way, and not disrespecting others. While this is tolerated it is still discouraged, unless it is obvious it is sarcastic (fml. damn... I thought blah blah blah)

This rule stems from respect of others. No one should have to log in to gaia and be verbally abused. This is a place of entertainment and relaxation and such negative emotions have no place outside of a Roleplay

2. Literacy. Within this guild, all role-play posts will be at least one full paragraph (a minimum of five well developed sentances). As far as grammar and spelling go, mistakes will be tolerated so long as the sentance or paragraph in question is legible. Spelling and grammatical errors will be corrected in a constructive, supportive way. Posts will be written in 3rd-person, actions will be described, thoughts will be italicized, and speech will be enclosed in quotation marks. This is a literate Guild, and all members will be expected to comply with the Guild's definition of literacy, outlined above.

3. Gaia TOS. Will be adhered to, any infringement will lead to reporting and removal from the guild.

4. Realism. A certain level of realism will be expected of any role-play in this guild. Actions must make sense within the context of their respective worlds, and all actions will have an evident effect.

4.1 Injury. If you are wounded you must carry the wound until it heals; if the role-play involves magic or a 'healing power', then there still must be an effect of your being wounded, ie. the healer becomes exhausted; if your character is of an approved race for the role-play that has higher natural regeneration, the length of time of being wounded is lessened, but still exists, ie. vampires and werewolves do not heal in seconds.

4.2. Growth. Allow room for your character to gain strength and allow time for the story to develop. Character creation is the sole domain of the member, however characters that are overly powerful to begin with are highly discouraged unless there is a legitimate reason for their strength, ie. they are the main villain. Also, I know people love the experience that role-playing provides, but do not rush into the story. Love at first sight is discouraged, unless done in an artistic, creative way; relationships, like most things, are the most rewarding when allowed to develop at their own pace.

4.3. In-Character Knowledge. You know more about the story than your character does, please ensure your character decides his or her action only by what they have first hand knowledge about or can reasonably conclude. Do not react to another character's thoughts unless your character has that ability and it is allowed in the role-play. Instead, react to the physical expressions and facial features which usually accompany sad or happy thoughts.

4.4. Travel. Instantaneous travel without explaination will not be tolerated; if the role-play has portals or other such teleportation, it must be either limited in range or availability and have a severe effect on those that use it. Travelling short distances, ie. across town, may be done in a post or two or by allowing others to have several posts. Travelling longer distances, such as between cities or locations, must be described in more detail -- travel time is often 'down time' in which inter-character interactions are more easily undertaken -- however you don't have to explain what the characters do every day of the journey.

4.5. Character Abilities. Some role-plays in this guild may deal with supernatural powers or inherant, racial abilities. These abilities must be used with discretion in a creative manner. Overuse of powers will not be tolerated and will be considered power-playing. Having your character die (permanently) immediately after an overuse of power may be acceptable, this is left to the discretion of the role-play creator.
