I've heard very little about it, but there's going to be a Highlander remake. Maybe now a full soundtrack to the first film will be released. But more importantly, I'd like this thead to be about the new movie. Personally, I hope that they don't end it with an absolute ending.

For Heaven's sake, people I put this up last year!!! Is no one interested in a remake of the Highlander movie?
I came back to this thread to suggest that Hugh Quarshie be cast as Ramirez. I thought this should be because Hugh Quarshie was in the first movie as Sunda Kastiger, an African Prince, so he should be intimately familiar with the Highlander franchise and premise. As for playing the mentor to Conner MacLeod, he is about 25 years older now than he was when he made Highlander with CHristopher Lambert and Sean Connery, so if he's kept in shape he has the years to play Ramirez. Lastly, and this may step on some toes, but I think it's a point, Hugh looks the part of a Nubian Immortal more than Sean Connery. Ramirez was an Egyptian who died his first death in Nubia, right? Well I've been to Nubia, and being in Southern Egypt, it's deeper into Africa than more famous regions like Cairo.

Okay, yes, I'll admit it -- I have interest in this... remake. Because I'm a ******** Highlander junky, not because I think the first movie needs remaking. 'Cause it doesn't.
I hear that the ending will be more open ended, leaving room for sequels and other franchises. And I agree -- Quarshie would be PERFECT in the Ramirez role. (Another rumour: Ramirez shows up in modern time. Does the Kurgan kill him in the 1542 or not?)

We'll have to see how it goes. Taking Kastagir as Ramirez may well be an interesting idea. I'm fairly dubious over the whole idea after Endgame and Source. Too many screw ups...it better be good, so Highlander can maintain some modicum of dignity.

The anime offered it plenty of dignity. I hope that for the soundtracks' sake, they incorporate the Ten Tenors. After hearing their take on " Who wants to live forever?", I think it would be wasteful not to incorporate them.

They can cover anything. Don't believe Me? Just Listen to their rendidtion of " Word Up" by Cameo.

I actually know that song, the redone one by Korn anyway, but that's just because I like Korn...
Otherwise I don't know anything about the soundtrack or remake...sorry
