A fairly temperate planet, Arnos is used mostly for agriculture. There are very few towns, and the ones that are there are fairly small. This also happens to be Zaphnir's home world.

Two of the deadly drop ships streaked across the surface Arnos. they where heading for two different major towns, the largest on the planet. they flew low to avoid detection till the last moment when they would strike. this also made it easier to avoid getting shot down.

once they reached directly overhead of their targets they detonated their weapons. each one had the force of a super nuke. the blasts, which could be seen from space, destroyed not only the town and the fields surrounding it but everything within 50 miles was incinerated. the water nearby lakes and streams was evaporated. such an event would be remembered by the people of this planet for all times. the explosions would have drawn the eye of every bit of surveillance equipment around that could see it.

Alcide and his fleet landed with almost no opposition. it was the same way as they took the rest of the planet after they did so they began to carry out the plan he had laid down before they had assaulted. in a matter of hours the planet was under the control of the empire. only a little while after that supplies where taken form all over the place and loaded along with the men back on board. "ahhhh that was almost too easy" Alcide said so far he had yet to draw his blades. it was almost boring. a few of the men of this planet had come to join them. as he counted it was only 65. These men where nothing compared to the other 10000 men Alcide already had under his command. in fact in a way they were worse due to the fact that they were not even trained. yet Alcide liked something about them. even though these me were hated for what they were doing they did it anyway. most of these men were young and sometimes even younger than himself. he was determined to make them his own personal guard. he began to get them trained by the best he had. each of the 10 knights with him and some of the best officers began to train them. while that was going on the charges were being set all over the planet. soon as that was done everyone but a few squads were loaded back on to the drops ships and ready for take off to rejoin the ships still in orbit. Alcide took one last good look of the planet. it was beautiful with its trees and grassy plains. but then he saw something in the distance. it was a man. he was completely nude and appeared to be in great pain. then Alcide recognized the man. it was the spy. the spy represented something to Alcide at that moment. heresy. the reason why this planet had to be burned and purged. he no longer felt any regret for what was about to happen to this planet. he sent a message to his sniper who was sure to be someplace else on the planet. it gave the coordinates of where he could be and remain unharmed and undetected in the coming hell. Alcide boarded his dropship and gave the command to lift of and head back to the ships. once he had gotten to his ships he went to his privet room and sat in his desk. he looked at the spies datapad and decided to sent one more message. "main force heading from nebula to Arnos. reinforcements remain at nebula." after that he decided to go and check on the progress of his trainees. but out of curiosity of what else might be in this system three probes to the last three planets in the system that were not affected thus far.

Alcide went to the section of the ship where his new 65 soldiers where training relentlessly. for not having prior training they did pick things up quick. Alcide watched them see, learn then hone traits of battle. he was impressed by the ability of these men and decided it was time for him to step in. so he walked in and took over the training of them. most of these men were hardy and strong from working in the fields most of their lives. they also had at the moment a fervor to serve the empire. Alcide knew this would not last forever and that he had to act while they had it. so he drilled them continuously till the movement became second nature and as fluid as water. after that Alcide went back to his room and read over the reports he got from the probes. not long after that he got to back to training his men. at the end of the day Alcide returned to his chambers. he began to pray for all those he had killed and all those he had yet to kill. he also prayed about his future and his love. he pray for a swift end of this war and or the victor to be the empire. he laid down and went to sleep. once he had rested he rose and began his day. he looked over reports and considered battle strategies. read a little then once it was time for his duties he dawned his armor and headed out. he checked with the status of his men talking to many personally. he lead a few prayer rituals and then got down to work with his men. the training them went as well if not better then yesterday. when the time came for a meal he returned to his quarters and began to survey the system and consider what he knew so far. there was one part that he saw but did not know anything of. that was the gathering of warp energies known as the Eye of Terror. he began to look through his database for more information. it turned out there was a record of it. it recorded how it had grown and how it had been tested a little. it turned out that it had been used to try and mutate creatures but proved too unstable to truly use effectively. Alcide was curious though so he decided to send a probe. while the probe took off Alcide ate and went back to training his men.

when the next meal came once again Alcide went back to his room. he looked over the info he had from the last probe he sent out. he decided to send a message to his lord it read "my lord as of yet we have had no contact with the rebels. i feel contact is imminent though so once again i ask that you have a fleet ready to reinforce us soon as their forces arrive. i also would like to say that my plan to engage the foes is set and awaiting them. included in this message is the data that i have gathered on the current state of the system. you said that this system was key to our goals. i am curious as to how that is so that i may protect whatever is so vital.

-Knight Master Alcide" he added the info he had on the system and sent it to his lord once that was done he read more on the Eye of Terror. he finished got up then and went to the section of the ship where his men were training. he joined in and kept working with them for the rest of the day. he went back to his quarters read some more then prayed again. this time he also added in a request for wisdom and right judgment in his coming battles. he awoke the next day and started his ay of the same as the day before by reading thinking but he also stretched. he thought about what would happen if the alliance came out of the warp right on this planet and decided to have something made that could throw their targeting sensors off. once he was done with that he went to train his men.

Alcide took the days meals with his men. at the end of the day he lead a prayer service and returned to his quarters. there was a message waiting on him from his lord and he read it. he of course had seen the advantage of holding this system but he did not think much of the mining colonies of the nebula or even the planet his was orbiting. the empire had dozen more system just like it. the only difference was the eye of terror with Alcide not only could not fathom how they could use but how he would even try to protect. as far as he could tell it needed no protection. as for its uses he would leave those up to his god. his duty was to take the system. as of right now it belonged to the empire. he felt he could hold it form the rebels. this would be the turning point. from here the war would go to this alliance's systems. Alcide went to sleep and awoke the next day. he followed his daily routine and went back to his troops.while training his men an idea hit him of a back up plan. in fact it was two back up plans. he went to his quarters and sent the lans to the maw. feeling a little more confidant he finished his daily duties and went back to his quarters. he read prayed and went to sleep. the next morning he awoke and went through his daily "up and up" then got to training his men.

Alcide was proud of how fast his men had come along. they had already mastered many key concepts of battle. he was not so focused on his men that he forgot the rest of the fleet. they where kept at the ready in high orbit. above the planet. at a moments notice they could depart. the gunnery crews were kept at standby so that they too could act. the course of the fleet was already plotted they would just need to engage. the explosives on the planet were ready as well. they where hidden away so that no one could find them aside from those who knew where to look and they were checked to make sure no one found them by accident. or anything came loose. Alcide had it all planed out.

Before the lancalot and the rest of its fleet reached the system the sensors of Alcides ship picked them up. "All hands to battle stations!" with a shout of glee from the men things were readied. Alcide went to his room and donned full armor and while there sent his pre made message to the Emperor of "the Rebel force has arrived and i request that the reinforcement fleet be sent immediately.

He then went to the bridge and when he arrive he asked "Is our special drop ship ready?" one of his officers replied "yes they are only waiting for your command to turn of the projector." Alcide nodded and said "do it" "yes sir" the officer replied and sent the order. the projector on this drop ship was the same as the one in the nebula. four imperial ships where made as a diversion so that the actual fleet could get away the moment the rebel fleet arrived. back on the bridge Alcide asked "are charges set and team on the planet informed to hold on?" another officer responded back "yes my lord" Alcide turned to another officer and asked "is our course plotted and are our gunners ready?" The officer nodded and said "yes my ord and our gunnery teams assure me that they will get off on volley before our jump." Alcide smiled and nodded "good." he said. everything was going according to plan. he had checked the status of the nebula ships, the maw and both of his bases before he left his room. everything was ready for the coming battles. Alcide looked at his main view screen and said "Soon it shall begin. now detonate the charges" the officer pressed the button. explosions ripped across the entire planet. the started fires, destroyed infrastructure, erased hills, made valleys, changed the path of water, and in some cases brought forth lava. to anyone on the planet it would looked like they had just gone to hell. it was damage which the planet could not recover from on its own. "now jump to the next base" "yes sir" and so the real fleet disappeared while the decoy remain behind still looking like for ships
