Man, Glenn hit the nail on the head today. He spoke about our generation and how our mindset is all about us, which is why we dont give a damn about our country's issues. Thus, he dubbud my generation "the ME generation'
What did you guys think? I thought it was awesome! He was totally right! I mean just look around your schools and work places, the majority of your coworkers and peers agree with nationalizing heathcare (for example) because selfishly they dont want to take the resposibility and take care of themselves and would rather have a free handout. It sad when you really think about it, the pit of selfishness our generation has fallen into; hopefully we can di ourselves back out before any more damage is done.

The Baby Boomers (those born between 1940-1959) and Generation X (1960-1979) are the "ME generation(s)". I think that Generations Y (1980-1999 (that would be me)) and Z (2000-2019 (still being born)) are really either more aware, or total zombies, but still "care" about external issues

Notmuch as much as i,d like to agree with you but take any look around my neighborhood Generation Y and X are the worst ones yet. They think because they have reacieved a trophy if they lost anyway that some reason it works with the Government. Now i wasnt born in generation X i was born in Generation Y but a kid stole my bike BECAUSE I WAS HOMESCOOHLED AND STILL HELD THE VALUES OF THIS COUNTRY! They thought that my family was rich and they deserved a cut of the "wealth"
((let it not be said that i didnt tell the cops they didnt do a thing to help me so i stole it back))

I didn't say gen X and Y were better, just that Y and Z were more concerned with external issues, like the poor polar bears that don't need our help!

Evolution must take it's course, even when it takes the cute cubbers. They aren't in any danger anyways! Their population is actually increasing! And they also have an ability that can be quite useful if the ice caps do melt: they can swim. But we've gotta save the polar bears! You notice that's all the reason kids (from especially gen Z) need to nag their parents into going green: the polar bears.

Honestly, I think those kids are pulled in by images of cute and cuddly polar bears, like in the Coca Cola commercials. If they knew that a polar bear can and will rip your chest open like saran wrap on ground beef, I doubt they'd be so apt to save them. It's silly how many kids are taken in by marketing schemes and the stuff they hear on television. No, bears are not cute and cuddly. They are territorial predators, and if you bug them or have food on you when they are hungry, they will kill you to get it. POLAR BEARS ARE NOT CUTE!!!!!!! Oh, and isn't the polar bear population only declining because they've reached their carrying capacity? An environment can only support so many territorial killers. There only so many baby seals and penguins and....

I do want to believe that we don't live in a selfish generation...but from what I hear (like 'what about ME' or 'it doesn't bother ME') its hard to ignore it. =p th cause is quite simple, its a result of the 'survivle of the fittest' trend going around.

Well sorta, this could be the cause, but me personally am fine with Darwinism being taught in school, just as long as they allow Intelligent Design to be taught as well. But the problem is, they don't. (p.s. and yes the Darwinist point of view is a cause of the selfishness)

Which is not a bad thing, but they are being taught about it someway and everytime i turn the channel to Nick, I see at least one going reen commercial, or tv special, epi, or movie, saying "Go green". Nick has even made it a special point to advertise it, on it's website.

Okay, first AVGN is awesome. and I did at first believe in global warming caused by man, until I took an Earth Science class last year and I learned that the earth goes through a cycle every few hundred years of heating like this. Record's have shown that the temperature now, is just like the temperatures a few hundred years ago before the mini ice age. Which was caused because the ocean currents, which got messed up because of all of the extra water in the ocean....and I mean fresh water. Which is hard to explain. fresh water and salt water do not mix basically. which stopped the warm ocean currents from reaching the north. Which made the poles get colder and freeze. This is nature doing the heating, I have discovered. Not anything that we have done. and thanks for your info. I learned something new today smile

The Baby Boomers and Generation X are calling US the "Me" generation to push the blame away from themselves... Wait, that sounds familiar... Hmmmm....
