Appearance Description
Konan has since recovered from his "illness," but he is still weaker than your average chuunin. He is shorter and skinnier, with less muscle strength or bulk. His overall appearance is that of someone rather pathetic.
Personality
Konan is spiteful and sarcastic, mostly from years of being bullied at school combined with his mother's spoiling, but also due to Hachi's giving him more power than he was ever ready for.
History
Konan's story, as told to the members of Hakumei:
My name is Ekidaki Konan, and I'm fifteen. My mother's name is Ekidaki Aidorobou, and she was the daughter of Ekidaki Kaira and Haduma, the First Tsukikage and founder of Getsugakure. She was one of his many mistresses, kept secret with a fortune's worth of presents, servants, and anything her heart desired.
Except a son.
My mother was absolutely ignored by my grandmother, who died before I was born. In turn, my mother absolutely smothered me from the moment I entered this world. She told me my whole life that I was sickly, and weak, and it ran in our family, and that I was never to go outside or play or heaven-forbid, become a ninja.
But when I exhibited a talent for the family's kekkei genkai, a trait unseen in over four generations of Ekidaki, my mother had no choice but to give in and let me train as a ninja. It's called the Hayashimoto, people of the forest, and it allows us to directly input our chakra into plants.
Even then, I was weak and sick, and was unable to pass the genin exam. But that all changed when Hachi kidnapped me. He was the Commander-in-chief of LUNA back then, and for reasons I still don't understand, he abandoned his position, kidnapped me, and fled into the forest. For two weeks, he trained me. He forced me to use my kekkei genkai to near exhaustion, to run until my legs collapsed, to break my fevers by doing pull-ups.
Because the sickness was in my mind, caused by my mother's infatuation.
After two weeks of training, Hachi's younger brother showed up. Kitsune, a useless little optimist with a lightning kekkei genkai. He came to Hachi and said he wanted to redeem him, even if it meant they had to fight. Hachi could have killed him with one punch, and instead, he invited him to join us. The next day, Hachi went back into the village, spoke with the Second, and we formed the Spec Ops Research Group known then as Project Untouchables.
The goal, which, may or may not have been achieved, was to find a way to extract kekkei genkai from one person and put it into another.
Our facility is close by, in the Midnight Forest. David probably does not remember it, but while he was in his Beast state, Hachi had him imprisoned in the facility basement. When he was promoted to the seat of Tsukikage following the Second's death, he destroyed the facility, probably in attempt to bury David along with other incriminating evidence.
As some of you may well remember, David, in Beast mode, escaped into the previous Chuunin exams. He turned back to ordinary David, but by then Hachi had ordered us to assassinate him. I fought with David, not realizing that I was only bait for the real assassination party. I would have died, if David himself had not saved me.
Hachi, the only man I had thought of as a father figure, had used me for his own ends, and the man I was trying to kill saved my life.
Needless to say, I returned the favor, and freed David from Hachi's prison. I have no goals, only to serve Hakumei as best as I can, and to stop the sociopath who is Ikazuchi Hachi."

Requires Hayashimoto Kekkei Genkai. Konan can control the branches of a tree like his own limbs. User is unable to use their own hands or removed physical contact from the tree. Branches would not grow or extend beyond their means.
Kusa Bunshin no Jutsu (Grass Clone Technique)

Creates a humanoid shape out of grass.
Kusate no Jutsu (Grass Hand Technique)

Type: Ninjutsu
Creates a 10 sq foot layer of 4 foot long soft grass beneath the surface of the ground that can be extended up to wrap around opponents and hold them. Not much stronger than ordinary grass, but in large amounts can hold opponents or at least slow them down.
Satsujin Sakura Obon (Murderer Cherry Blossom Dance)
Level: Chuunin
Type: Ninjutsu
A 5 cubic foot cloud (Approximately 100 pedals) of razor sharp cherry blossoms that can be controlled to cut opponents. Moves at approx. 25 mph in liquid-like motion. Entire cloud moves one direction at a time. Directed by Konan "pushing/pulling" the pedals with chakra. Chakra output required to maintain pedal motion.
Hayashi Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Forest Summoning Technique)
Level: Jounin
Type: Ninjutsu
Konan can summon a 500 sq foot forest of either pine trees, cherry trees, or bamboo grass.

Konan almost never resorts to taijutsu, but his style is to use the environment to his advantage.

Nemui Sakura Obon (Sleepy Cherry Blossom Dance)

Type: Genjutsu
Affects a 20 sq foot region, causes the affected people to feel lost in a cloud of floating cherry blossoms, feeling dazed, sleepy, and smelling the constant perfume of the blossoms.

Kekkei Genkai (Clan Specialty)
Hayashimoto ("The People of the Forest") :
Hayashimoto is characterized by a greenish aura of chakra surrounding the user upon activation. The user has the basic ability to exchange their chakra with plants, permitting them to do several things:
1. Manipulate the plants cell structure, allowing them to move their limbs, roots, etc. (Jutsu cannot be used at this time)
2. Cause the incredibly rapid cell division, allowing plants to grow in different directions. (Jutsu cannot be used at this time)
Special Technique (Requires Mastery of the Kekkei Genkai, Tokubetsu Jounin Level Technique) Kitamashi ("Soul of the Tree"): The user can temporarily extend their chakra through a selected plant, allowing them to sense chakra flow, jutsus used near the plants, the destruction of the plant. Similar to the Yamanaka Family's Mind-Control Techniques, however, the user of Kitamashi is still aware of the world around them (Although through a daze of concentration) and cannot feel pain through the plant.

Chakrabane: When these flowers sprout they release a flood of 10 tiny needles, each about the size of a pin. The poison within the needles causes the infected's chakra to attack itself, weakening and possibly killing the body as follows:
1-5 Needles: Aches and pains while using chakra (For next three posts)
6-10 Needles: Agonizing pain while using chakra/Inability to use chakra (for next three posts)
11-15 Needles: Inability to use chakra/lack of consciousness (for next three posts)
16-20 Needles: Lack of consciousness (for next three posts)
21-25 Needles: Permanent Chakra Damage/Possible Death/Comatose
26-30 Needles: Death within the hour if not treated with antidote/med jutsu
Mirkwood Blossom: These Plants, upon full growth, seek out the nearest organism and latch onto it with fang-like spines, sucking blood at a rate of one pint a minute from the victim. The head of the plant will continue to suck blood even if removed from base for up to a half hour. Only burning, freezing, or forcibly ripping out the head will stop the blood flow.
