Oddly enough, the point of the game is that you're searching for "The Vault."

It takes place on an alien planet called Pandora. I'm ... I dunno how far through, maybe halfway? maybe not quite?

and it is loads of fun. It's multiplayer, has RPG elements, is a FPS, and has like, 17 million different weapons. eek

Well, I bought Brutal Legend the other week, so it was my roomie's turn to buy a game. xd

I hadn't heard ANYTHING about it in advance, so I just went in playing it with just the cover art and someone saying "you can have a character that goes invisible."

But yeah, it is insanely fun. I've done abouit 90% of my playing in splitscreen with another player, which is so much fun that I hate playing by myself.

That and the other player is a Soldier with a "character modifier" that gives the entire party ammo regeneration. This is really helpful given that there are inventory caps. xp

For those who are into Borderlands ... 2k Games and Gearbox, the people who made Borderlands, has secured the trademark "Borderworlds" ...

Brutal Legend was pretty fun; I liked the story and the setting. It had a good combination of action, awesome, and humor--you could tell that it wasn't taking itself too seriously.

Borderlands is really good as a co-op game; I've only been able to play with one other person rather than in a full party, but that has still been a lot of fun. I've played by myself a few times, and that's fun too, but it's easier with more people.

The story isn't all that groundbreaking, and I'm a bad judge of voice acting. I think it's OK at least. I mean, it's all pretty straightforward. Get mission, do mission, get reward. Shoot bad guys, monsters, whatever. And if you don't want to do a mission, it's totally cool to just go places and shoot things for the hell of it.

I mean, for what it is, it does the job admirably. It's a casual first-person shooter, solo or co-op. Some competitive aspects. It is entertaining and a great deal of fun. There's a decent amount of replay value. The Island of Dr. Ned expansion is entertaining and I still haven't finished it. The other expansion is less fun but certainly challenging--more so than most of the game itself, at least.
