Ah yes, the darker side of 'Heaven'. G.E.A.R.B.O.L.T is an industrialized post apocalyptic city consisting of what is known as Meta-Technology also known as Magical Imbued Technology. The city is powered by a system of magical machines called 'Gear Engines' designed to harness the power of heat and electricity As a result, most of the technology such as vehicles run from magic. Although there was a time where it was once a city formed from endless scrap. Not just any scrap, but scrap that had fallen from the skies, or 'Heaven' as they call the floating structure that floats above it. Today it a prominently growing formation consisting of smaller towns bulged into an enormous puzzle like metropolis. Time is money here, and activity is always buzzing through the streets. They aren't the friendliest of individuals and they've seen many hardships in their time. Because of old habits, the city has been divided into different sections known as 'sectors'.
Because of G.E.A.R.B.O.L.T's unorganized structure and unruly nature, there was a man who sought unify the city with the creation of a system of guilds. It wouldn't completely unify the city, but it was a step. In charge of these sectors are 'Guilds' that consist of many members including the Guild Master which runs the entire guild.Many guilds are devoted to different things. Some religious, others mercenary, and some devoted to solely magic. But the one thing they all have in common is racing to find the city's lost and buried Keepsakes. Each one found is considered a dose of power added to that particular guild, along with the expansion of it's territory. However among these lesser guilds are four greater ones. The ones that hold the legendary keepsakes. These are responsible for upholding the sense of control in G.E.A.R.B.O.L.T.
