Covers are important. It's the first thing we see and it's what lures us to the book. Then again that saying comes to mind "Don't judge a book by its cover". Although, I don't think I've ever read a book with one heck of a beautiful cover that wasn't good.

Anyways, I decided to create this thread so we can showcase our favorite book covers. They don't have to be beautiful as long as you like them then post them. biggrin

Here are my favorites:

Gorgeous! Can I say anything more? I added it to my wish-list the moment I saw it. I didn't even care for the summary. I've never seen a more prettier cover. whee

I don't know. I just really like the atmosphere of the picture. Tragic...sad...alone...It's in my wish-list too... stare

Reminds me a bit of the book East. Girl and Polar Bear. Hmmm... I just know if it's as anywhere near as awesome as East that I will be buying it. The cover is breath-taking too. heart

I don't know if I want to read it. But besides that- Don't you love the cover?

this is the full cover of Terry Pratchett's Carpe Jugulum (minus title, blurb etc). to be fair i love all of the original book covers for the Discworld series. they're so intricate and detailed that i could spen years looking at them.

When I first saw this book I guessed by the cover that it was just some silly victorian or elizabethian memoir of a stuck up brat style book but the second time I saw it i decided to see what it was about because the picture was too pretty to not know.............and well lets just say that for a second I thought I was right but pretty soon I found out I was WAY off lol.

This was a great book. I thought that the cover really stood out, too. Mineko Iwasaki is truly beautiful.

This was another really good book. If the beautiful cover art hadn't caught my eye I probably wouldn't have picked it up.

And I of course love anything by Eric Carle.
