Appearance Description
Kaemono has a muscular build, standing at 5'6" and weighing an even 140 lbs. Her skin is tanned from being outside all the time, her eyes sapphire blue while her messy hair falls down in red tumbles. Her entire appearance tends to be gruff, her clothing torn, a result of 10 years of living in the wild.
Personality
Usually fairly moody, Kaemono is by no means a "people person." She gets along MUCH better with animals than she does with humans, probably due in part to how much of her life she's spent in a non-human body. She's rough around the edges, sooner expressing herself with fists than with words, and therefore tends to keep to herself, rarely saying much of anything. She hates weakness, constantly striving to be better, so puts added effort into hiding her weaknesses.
History
Kaemono was born in Sunagakure under the name Ikimono Keiko to a clan of animal breeders and trainers. The Ikimono clan supplied animal companions to all of the Five Villages for domestic and shinobi use. Her father, Ikimono Kanin was the best of the clan, and did all sorts of tests with the animals the family couldn't train or sell. Kanin eventually developed special pellets that enabled an animal to speak in the human tongue for a few hours, as well as a recipe for a potion a human could take to transform into an animal. Other than that, Keiko wasn't all that special. She kept to her studies, working hard through the academy and into the Chuunin rank.
Keiko was eighteen, studying and training for her Jounin rank, when her brother was getting ready to take the Chuunin Exams in Konohagakure. She had some paperwork to turn in to the Kazekage prior to the exams, and while she was there overheard someone proposing an alliance with Otogakure--a joint invasion of Konohagakure. She didn't think much of it at the time, but when she got home and told her brother, he got angry, and began rambling on about how it wasn't right, and how he'd heard about Otogakure's Kage, about how he was a horrible, sinister man. The family managed to calm him down and get him to bed, but he never returned from his mission the next day, nor the day after.
A few days passed before the family saw him again, bound to a tall post for public execution. The Kazekage claimed he was caught plotting against Sunagakure, but the Ikimono family knew the truth. The young boy had gone to confront him about his plans, and the execution merely proved the Kazekage's guilt...but who would listen? It was their word against the Kazekage's.
After that, business got bad for the Ikimono family. Keiko's parents had to close up and sell the last of the animals, and Keiko began to slip. She'd lost all respect for the Kazekage, and it began to show. Her superiors grew watchful, turned a careful eye upon hery, and started asking her things about her brother. She knew she was next, so she put her parents out of their misery and salvaged what she could of the family's belongings before she fled Sunagakure. The officials never found her, but they told Sunagakure they did, that she'd been caught and slain on the spot. They figured she couldn't survive in the wild, and if she were still alive they'd have found her, having no idea the things she'd learned from her father and his animals.
Keiko changed her name to "Kaemono," taking on a new identity to go with her new life. She met and befriended a hawk whom she named "Veronica," and, with Veronica's aid, lived in the forests of Fire Country and the surrounding areas ever since. The two hid away from the rest of society until recently when the pair stumbled upon a small gathering in the forests of Getsugakure. By pure chance, they had found others who had lost their faith in the Kages, and so joined them as the founding members of a new group that would shake the very foundations of all the villages...Hakumei.

Ninjutsu
Ikimono Secret Art: Ikimono Kiyasume (Animal Soothing)
Level: Genin
Type: Ninjutsu
A popular though controversial technique in animal training, Ikimono Kiyasume sends chakra into the touched creature's body, targeting and reducing the creature's dopamine (adrenaline) concentration, calming the creature into a relaxed and non-aggressive state. While the technique effectively returns the target to this state, it does nothing to prevent the creature from becoming aggravated again, unless contact is maintained, thereby maintining control over the flow of dopamine. This technique is controversial because it opens the door to animal abuse as it prevents the animal's instinct to protect itself and fight back.
Taijutsu
Ikimono Secret Art: Chinseizai Dageki (Tranquilizer Strike)
Level: Chuunin
Type: Taijutsu
After gathering chakra into the hands, feet, or a weapon, the user hits the target, transfering the chakra into the target through the contact. This chakra acts as a dose of tranquilizer, releasing a numbing and sedating effect throughout the target. Though not strong enough to put the target to sleep on a single use, it will make the target grow weary, weaker, and slower. It takes five uses to completely tranquilize the target and put it to sleep.
Ikimono Secret Art: Seiryoku na Yajuu (Beast's Might)
Level: Chuunin
Type: Taijutsu
Chakra flows through the user's body, increasing muscle density and primal perceptions. The user takes on beastial instincts, increasing strength, reaction time, and danger detection while reducing pain inhibition.
Genjutsu
Ikimono Secret Art: Onsei na Ametsuchi (Voice of Nature)
Level: Genin
Type: Genjutsu
One of the Ikimono clan's most infamous techniques, Onsei na Ametsuhi enables the user to speak in the tongue of an animal using a series of three hand seals. The first seal, Ox, opens the vocal cords to the acceptance of chakra. The second seal determines which animal language is to be used: Rat for the language of rodents, Ox for cows and bison, Tiger for felines, Rabbit for forest critters, Dragon for creatures of a mythic nature, Snake for retiles, Horse for hooved mammals, Ram for sheep and goats, Monkey for primates, Bird for birds, Dog for canines, and Boar for boar. The third seal, Tiger, is placed with the up-pointing fingertips against the skin beneath the tongue and mixes the chakra with the words the user forms, altering and transforming the sounds into the desired animal language.
Ikimono Secret Art: Onsei na Ningenteki (Voice of Humans)
Level: Genin
Type: Genjutsu
Another technique in frequent use by the Ikimino, Onsei na Ningenteki translates the speech of the touched animal into the human language of the user using a combination of two seals. The first seal, Ox, gathers the patterns of chakra necessary for language translation into the hands. The second seal, Monkey, is placed with the back of the top hand against the skin of the animal near the tongue and mixes the gathered chakra with the sounds of the animal, converting it into the user's human language.
Chakra Control
Highly advanced, particularly when focusing on the hands and feet. Perfection of the tree-climbing exercise.

Veronica - Kaemono's female Cooper's Hawk companion. Veronica helped Kaemono survive ten long years of living in the wild by aiding the shinobi with scouting, information recon, and hunting. Other than being trained by Kaemono, Veronica is no different from any other hawk of her kind, except that she has a good bit of sarcasm.
Mizugusuri na Henshin (Potion of Metamorphosis) - The Ikimono clan's secret base elixir used for animal transformation. A third element must be added for the potion to work: that is, a sample of the desired animal's DNA. This may be anything from a feather to a clip of hair to a droplet of blood. The effect is canceled at the desire of the user, or else wears off after 10 hours. [x10]
Shokumotsu na Oningen (Voice of Humans Food) - The Ikimono clan's secret pellets that, when fed to an animal, enables them to speak in the human tongue without the use of Onsei na Ningenteki. The effect wears off after about two hours. [x20]
