Isamei was in the Village Hidden in the Mist for a mission. The Hokage had caught wind of some strange and grisly murders. His job was to find out what was going on.

Hikaru stared out in the distance... Sniffing the air, she knew that Isamei was already there... Had the Hokage sent him as well? She glared, wondering if she could get by without a fight this time.

The wind blew slightly, swirling the mist about him. Uneasiness washed over him. He'd felt on edge ever since he entered the village. It was way too quiet. The village looked deserted, almost as if the very life had been sucked from it. This is their doing... He thought to himself. There was something out of place here. The Akatsuki used to move around with such caution, always covering up their steps everywhere they went...but this had their name written all over it.
"They're getting bolder." He said to himself. And that's when he sensed the nearby presence.

This village had never been her favorite. A pity to live in such a place. And now it had become even more difficult since a power Genjustsu had been put on the place... it was making all the villagers sick. It was hard for Hikaru to hear its silence.
"Who in the world could do this?" She asked herself. Hikaru bent to one knee and drew a circle in the dirt. "Samuru, my friend... I'll need your help with this one..."

Isamei felt a distortion in the air, signalling that someone had summoned a creature. That energy... was familiar in many ways. Like a light froth.
Samuru... he thought. That must mean Hikaru's here.
At that moment, dread filled him.

There was a quick gust of wind and then a bright light, but it barely made Hikaru squint. She stared at the silver fox before her, his eyes black and narrow -filled with the upmost wisdom.
"Hikaru..."
"Hello Samuru..."
"Its been a while since you have summoned me..." Samuru paused and looked around, sniffing the air. "What is this? The Village Hidden in the Mist?"
"Yes, so you sense it to? Do you know the scent?"
"It is that of the Ataksuki..."
"The Ataksuki?"
"Yes... I also sense your rival near by..."
"Don't remind me"

If she's here, Isamei thought. then the Hokage probably sent her. Isamei was very loyal to his friend, but he couldn't comprehend why Norio continued to send them on missions together.
Nevertheless, Isamei went to find her.

( I just now realized that i have been spelling "Akatsuki" wrong this entire time... i am such an idiot! gonk )
Hikaru ran behind Samuru as he followed the scent of an Akatsuki follower. She tried not to pay too much attention to the sound of her feet pounding against the earth.
Suddenly, her fox stopped and looked to his left. Hikaru skidded a bit and stared quizically. "S-samuru?" The fox glared and started to growl in the oposite direction, his hairs standing on end. Finally, Hikaru turned her head and bit back a gasp... It was one of the Akatsuki

Isamei felt his presence nearby. He was close to Hikaru.
Just for a moment, Isamei was tempted to leave her there. He decided against it, because Norio wouldn't be very happy with him. He hurried to her location.
Ryoto was walking around, proud of what he had done to this pathetic excuse for a village. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a fox with a beautiful woman behind it. She looked tense, and ready to strike.
"What have we here?" he said aloud. "Something to play with? How exciting. He charged.

Hikaru wasn't prepared as to how fast this intruder would attack, and stood frozen for a moment. As her attacker drew nearer, she knew it was too late to jump out of the way.
"Hikaru!" Samuru growled, leaping in front of her and biting into the enemy's arm. He could smell the fear emitting from her. Was this man who....?

Ryoto gritted his teeth.
"Damn mutt!" he said striking at the fox and sending it flying. He turned to the girl, and smiled.
"Any other tricks you want to throw at me?"

Hikaru stared for a moment, trying not to glance over at Samuru trying to get back on all fours again... She made a hand sign and vanished, only to appear behind him and strike at him with her kunai

Hikaru grunted as his fist collided with her face. She stumbled back noticing how the punch seemed to make her body tremble. She spit out blood and looked up just a Samuru jumped onto Ryoto's back, sinking his teeth into his neck.
"Hikaru!" he snarled.
She nodded and got up, holding her wrist and taking the stance that her sensei had taught her. It had only been the second time she would be using it and she hoped that it wouldn't weaken her as much as the first. She glared at the Akatsuki and said under her breath "Chidori...."
(zach.......what da HELL is Kakashi's "lightning justu" attack called again? Ya know, the one where he does the lightning in the palm thing? I am totally brainfarting and its killing me!)
