Here is some information I figured most people may or may not know, or may like a reference for it.

For anyone wondering what the array of colors that can be used to identify your different characters, here is a list of all the ones possible. Choose one you like from below and then around the text that you want colored put:

One last note: Please choose your color(s) carefully and be respectful of others that must read what you type. Also, utilize the bold and italic functions when formatting special fonts for your characters. And of course...
HAVE FUN!

You can also use HTML coding by putting the following instead:

Of course you can replace "FF0000" with whichever HTML color code you want.

eek Hehe yes I know... and I had to code each and EVERY one of those, so appreciate my hard work razz

Rule #2... Everyone involved in a story thread is to be given 24 hours to move their characters. Once all characters are moved, then you may move yours again. Exception to this rule: conversations between characters where all other characters are not in the same room.

Confused? Sorry... I will take a minute to explain.

Scenario 1
Characters A, B, and C are involved in Story A.
A, B, and C are in Room 1 together. If A moves or speaks first, then B.... they have to wait for character C to move/speak before A can move/speak again. Just like playing a tabletop game.

Scenario 2
Now if Character C leaves room 1 into room 3, then A and B are free to talk/move amongst themselves without waiting for C, but A must wait for B, and vice versa.

Scenario 3
If A is in room 1 and B is in room 2, then they can move/speak freely. If C walks into room 1, then he must wait for A to move before he can move again. C cannot just walk into the room, grab something, and leave without A being given a chance to react. If after 24 hours of C posting his move into room 1, A has not moved yet, then we will assume that C's presence has gone unnoticed by A and C can move again. If C is still in the room after that move, he must give A another 24 hours to post.

If there are any questions, feel free to ask. Also, if you notice either a poster not waiting for other characters or a poster not posting every 24 hours, then please PM me so that I can look into it.

Hope this helps mrgreen

Rule #4. NO RAPID POSTING!! Rapid posting is when one character or poster posts to the story without waiting for others to post. Each post you make MUST be followed by a post from another person BEFORE you post a second time. If you have two of your own posts back to back... this is considered a rapid post.

Exception to this rule:
When you have waited 24 hours and no one else has posted to move their character(s), then you can post again following your previous post. This way we can see that time has elapsed.

Also, just to clarify... if you are running more than one character in a single story, you must post each of their moves in a single post, and each one of your characters is only allowed a single move.

This should be self-explanatory, but I'm bored... So I'm going to give you a scenario just for the hell of it.

Poster 1 runs Character A, poster 2 runs Characters B and C.

Poster 1
A moves.

Poster 2
B moves. C moves.

Poster 1
A moves.

Sorry I'm bored, but not in a very creative mood. razz Deal with it.

Have you ever wondered how to make your posts longer and more detailed? I always see everywhere that people require a minimum of a paragraph sometimes more from their roleplay partners. Now, while I find that is a bit much, I do agree there needs to be some substance to your posts.

So, here I have compiled a good skeleton for everyone to use to create awesome, descriptive, and lengthy posts.

Quote:
• The main action (ie. sitting, standing, walking, etc)
• A description and placing of the character in the setting (ie. in a room, describe what they see; colors, items, people)
• A physical aspect of the character (ie. movement of their body, feeling they have of their physical body; pain pleasure, annoyance)
• Their thoughts/reactions/allusion to current situation (ie. inner dialogue, side actions, inner reactions to outside events)
• Dialogue response (if applicable)
• Further concluding action (if applicable, ie. movement towards another character)

If you need written examples, feel free to ask. I am always here to help.
