So... Disney sequels. You know, the ones like The Hunchback of Notre Dame II or Pocahontas 2. The ones that are released direct to DVD. What are your opinions on them?
Is it a good think they're not making any more once the TinkerBell series is over, or do you wish there were more to come?
Also, which straight-to-DVD sequel was your favorite? Which was the worst?

I always liked Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. Mostly because of the bad guy, Forte. I mean, how can you not love an evil Piano? Just look at him:

I liked Aladdin and The King of Thevies. Return of Jafar was a fail, but they got back into full swing with Thevies. Genie was in top funny form, and the action was awesome. The turtle scene with Genie paddle boating out was hilarious.

Aladdin 3 is better than Aladdin 2 is so many ways. I mean, Jason Alexander as Abis-Mal made me depressed, and Iago having his own singing number made me gag. gonk

If They Where To Get Them To The Movies FIRST,Then It Would Be Much Better The The Bull-s**t Disney Has NOW. Also,It's Kinda Hard To WANT To See Them On DVD,Since They Are Coming Out SO Long After The First One. But All And All,Sequels Are Better Than The New Stuff That DOSE Make It To The Movies.

Sadly, that's kinda true. Dang, what happened to Disney? I mean, I saw a lot of good animated movies this year and last, but I can say honestly Bolt wasn't one of them.

Disney died, that's what happened. xP No but really the older Disney creaters are no longer around in Disney. These new guys have no idea what they are doing...sad.
I liked Lion King 1 1/2 it was a funny movie.

My favorite Disney sequel was Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. In some aspects I like it better than the first one. What I don't like about Disney sequels is how they are almost all 'flashbacks' and things that don't really add to the story - I mean, if you wanted to see it, you would've liked to see it in the first one, right? - and are really short anyway. (They always call the the second or third ones when they should call them the prequels or something of that nature.) Lion King 1 1/2 was hilarious, but once again, it didn't really make any impact on me. I also liked the third Aladdin, but the second one was only made to have one plot point: Iago turns good...sort of. I also liked Peter Pan Return to Neverland but it was WAY too short.

Im coming back to what Krissy just said, the old guys that made some of the classics are gone or have left. It would explain why Disney bought in Marvel comics. They needed stories and Marvel was chalked full of them.
I agree with Kalka on how short the sequels are and how some have way too many flashbacks.

Well Miss Catharine (LOL if you get a chance ask me about Holes)
My favorite disney movie sequal or not is Lion King 2 Simba's Pride. I could explain all the things I like about it but i think i'll sum it up with one word. Kovu. or better K-THAL (Kovu the hottest animated lion)
Second favorite is The Little Mermaid - Ariel's beginning. I know its technically a prequal but it came after the first movie so whatever. Its so beautiful. So much better than LM2. The songs are lovely, the villian Marina is AMAZING and the charactars have awesome personalitys, especially flounder. And Ariels mom is a great singer.
The worst sequal?
POCAHONTAS 2! (Ya'll go read my journal, or i can copy it here but i don't wanna get started on this movie)
and Hunchback 2 but pretty terrible as well
I agree with everythinh Kalka said. return to neverland is great, it has a deeper feeling to it, and that "i'll try" song brings me to tears every time.
