Jerard thumbed his chin idly as he scrolled to find the details of his current appointment, the screen casting a glow over his features in the dying afternoon light. Another man might have found the influx of new partnerships hard to keep track of – Jerard had developed scrupulous records to do so. He liked to keep tabs on all his students, even those who had left, in theory, to pursue bigger and better things.
Aha.
The administrator clicked open the file, matching the photos to the faces on the other side of the desk. A falcata? His eyes flicked across the page. Perhaps a little older than the average SHIBUSEN attendee - but that was merely an observation; the school had seen all manner of befuddled WEAPONs and to-be TECHNICIANs.
"Congratulations Miss Glendower, Mr Aodhfionn. Please direct any questions you have to Hanzel - he should be waiting for you outside to begin your tour."

"Thank you, sir." Talu bowed her head with a smile spread across her face.
Diemos bowed his head in respect of the other, knowing where to place such honor. The technician and weapon rose from their seat, Diemos holding the door open for Talu as they exited and headed out to meet their tour guide. "Okay... So know anything about Hanzel?"
Diemos shrugged, shoving his hands into his pants pockets. "Not much really... Just know that he's not that bad of a guy."
Talu left out a sigh of relief. "Good, I wasn't really looking forward to meeting someone mean and cold... Like a certain someone." Her emerald eyes shift over to her partner, said weapon looking down at Talu.
"What? Me? I'm not cold!" Diemos smirked. "Mean, maybe... but only during times you get annoying." Talu stuck her tongue out at Diemos before they both flicked each other in the nose which stopped their little fight that they did on an, almost daily routine.

Hanzel had fallen asleep. Early for once, since Jerard had given him a stern talking-to about Personal Responsibility and Hanzel had promised to try his best, he was scrunched up in the hallway just beyond the administrator's office door. Like a cat, he'd gravitated towards a cool, shady spot to wait, and then promptly drifted off into a delicious snooze. His face was burrowed into the crook of his elbow, and with his dark hair and clothes he easily blended in with SHIBUSEN's decor - it wouldn't be hard for a passerby to miss him at first glance.
"I'm not cold!" The taser roused a little as the sounds of conversation reached him, and his eyes fluttered open. Wha-? Oh. Oh. He jerked awake like someone had plugged him in and turned the power on. His two tour-bies were already here, and that meant he was late again - even though he wasn't technically - and Jerard who had eyes everywhere in SHIBUSEN probably already knew about it and was going to make The Disappointed Face. Hanzel hated The Disappointed Face.
Groaning, he unfolded into a proper sitting position and then slid up, using the wall as a support.
"Uh. Hey guys," he mumbled, shamefaced, stepping into the light. "I'm Hanzel?" He wasn't sure if they'd seen him yet.

Diemos and Talu stopped at the sound of someone's voice and turned around. Huh... How did they miss a sleeping man?... Talu blinked a few times as they noticed someone against the wall. The man seemed to be a little disheveled... He looked like he had fallen asleep and had just gotten up. Talu bowed with a smile, feeling bad that they had missed the sight of their tour guide.
"We're sorry for not seeing you there, sir. I'm Talu Glendower." Talu straightened herself with a smile. "And this guy here is Diemos Aodhfionn." Talu looked over at Diemos, seeing him kind of looking off a bit before elbowing her partner.
Diemos batted her arm away before waving to Hanzel. "Why were you sleeping?" Talu elbowed him again. "Ow... Stop that!" Talu gave him a face that told him to basically shut-it.

At the 'sir' and bow, Hanzel almost looked around to see who they were talking to.
"No, no!" he said hurriedly, ruffling the hair at the back of his neck in a half-frenzied way. "Just call me Hanzel. I don't think even the teachers insist on all the formal stuff." He didn't look that old, did he? Blinking nonplussed, the action combined with the dark circles under his eyes made them appear huge and slightly creepy. His shirt was also a bit stained from when he'd spilled orange juice on it in the morning - he probably didn't seem very reputable or tour-guide-y.
"S'nice to meet you Talu, Diemos." He nodded at them, then after a moment of deliberation decided that he was aware enough to shake without frying anyone. He stuck out his big paw of a hand and grinned. "Sorry about that. And uh," his smile faded just a little as he pondered the answer to Diemos' question, "I guess I'm not really a morning person." It wasn't exactly a lie, just not the full truth. Hanzel wasn't ashamed of his narcolepsy, but not explaining himself properly was a leftover defence from childhood. Kids didn't like things that were different. It was easier to pretend he liked to sleep a lot than to say he had a disease.
"Anyway," he continued brightly without missing a beat. "Was there somewhere you guys wanted to go first?" He was starting to get the hang of this introduction thing.

Talu looked up at the teacher before smiling. "Well, alrighty, Hanzel." She shook his hand. Wow... He hand seemed to tiny compared to Hanzel's hand. The girl smiled with a small chuckle. "You and me both, Hanzel. I'm not that much of a morning person either." The tan-skinned girl was SO happy that the teacher was so nice. It would have been incredibly awkward to have someone snide and rude as a tour guide.
Talu tapped her chin a bit while Diemos stared down at her with an eyebrow raised. 'This is going to take a bit...' He thought with a sigh. "Probably an important area such as the different classrooms. We haven't been able to take a good look around lately." He pinned his gaze at Talu, said girl smiling sheepishly with laughing.
"Not my fault the alarm doesn't like going off on time." Talu continued to giggle lightly before Diemos rolled his eyes.
"Sure it doesn't cause, you know, hitting the snooze button five or so times doesn't make it do that at aaalll." Diemos poked Talu in the nose, she trying to protect her nose and swatted his finger away.

Hanzel beamed as they shook. She was nice. He had begun to think that all the people he took around were going to be hard to handle or not very excited, or else moody like prickly pears. He rubbed his nose as Diemos poked Talu's, almost in sympathy, and was abruptly glad that he'd saved these two from Alexis. Hanzel may have accidentally done Something Bad to the photocopier yesterday and she was on the warpath. You didn't want to expose new students to that kind of thing - even Hanzel wasn't used to it yet.
He coughed as Diemos mentioned the snooze button, which Hanzel had a love-hate relationship with, and then remembered what the boy had said about classrooms. "Oh sure! They're just over here." He half-flapped, half-pointed, and then took off in the same direction. Hanzel's tours so far had been bumpy in one way or another, but his ma always said a rough start meant a smooth journey. Maybe this was like that.
He blinked as they reached the Missions Board. "Hey, let's do this first so we don't have to backtrack." He squinted a little, trying to picture Jerard's instructions, which the administrator had kindly printed out for him (again). "This is where you can see what types of jobs are available, and pick up the ones you want," he recited dutifully. "Yeah, and make sure you read the requirements - don't try to pick something that's higher-ranked either," he added meaningfully. "The Missions Department has to sort it out and the boss really doesn't like that."

Talu glared up at Diemos, her mouth scrunched her mouth to one side before following Hanzel towards the classrooms. She did want to familiarize herself with as much of the building as possible so that she didn't repeat her first day at the school every day going there.
She blinked her emerald eyes a moment as the teacher explained the Mission Board. Talu's eyes scanned the board, smirking as she looked at the different postings, looking at the different missions for different ranks.
Diemos looked over the board while listening to Hanzel, smirking and looking at all the missions. 'Cool...' He thought as a fang poked out of his smirking.
Talu looked back at Hanzel and smiled. "Good to know. I'd rather not take something that I wouldn't be prepared for. "
"Cause God knows you'd survive without me there." Diemos chuckled, Talu making her face again and lightly punching him in the arm.
"Yeah, I know." Talu smiled and chuckled before giving her attention back to Hanzel, Diemos rubbing his arm a bit.

Hanzel nodded when they seemed to grasp the import of not angering The Beast. Alexis was really nice to Ashie, and she had her (admittedly few and far between) moments, but otherwise she was a fire-breathing dragon. "You get a little help on missions to start off with," he explained, beginning to trot towards the classrooms. "You guys are supposed to do all the work, of course - hey, maybe you’ll get me to back you up." He grinned a little at this – if he continued to do A Good Job, Jerard would probably promote him.
Most of the time Hanzel’s body didn’t much like being awake, but being useful was different; it was a little easier to tell his eyelids to behave when he was trying to do something important. Jerard worried though. He never hesitated to send Hanzel into combat situations when it was necessary, but the taser knew he was worried anyway, and he appreciated it, even though he kept telling the older man to stop or else he’d get grey hair.
"Okay!" he said, as they entered the strip of hallway where the classrooms were housed. "There’s not much to see but now you won’t have to wander around like headless ducks looking." He scratched his nose, seeming to forget that he was one of those aforementioned ducks, and slanted a look at Talu. He thought she might be a bit older than Lucien, but she was nice and she was pretty, and he didn’t much feel like sending her into a lion’s den. "Uh, and stay away from #7."

Talu and Diemos followed Hanzel towards the hallway, chuckling a little at the comment of getting him as back-up. "Hey, I'd rather have someone like you then someone that would yell and bark commands." Talu shoved her hands into her pockets again.
Diemos looked down at Talu, raising an eyebrow at the comment of someone who 'barked' commands. He was pretty certain that was indirectly targeted towards him but he never really cared so long as they got along like they normally did and that neither of them died. Talu looked up at Diemos, noticing the staring and stuck her tongue out a bit with a smile, causing Diemos to flick her in the forehead with a small smirk. She flailed a bit as they entered they entered the hallway. She looked around at the different classrooms, making sure to take small mental notes of the different names and numbers of the rooms.
Talu giggled at Hanzel's duck comment. "That's kind of how I felt on my first day here. Got a tiny bit lost..."
"Yeah and you're lucky that you managed to bump into me before you found your self in the dungeons or something." Diemos's smirk widened as he looked down at Talu, said girl sticking her tongue out again. Diemos grabbed her tongue. "You shouldn't do that or else someone might catch you off guard, Talu." He let go, Talu whipping her tongue off before looking back at Hanzel.
"Number 7? What's in room number 7?" Talu blinked a few times at their tour guide, curiosity having always been one of her weaknesses.

Hanzel smiled brightly, gratified that he'd done a good deed. He felt a twinge of guilt for not wishing Alexis on them though. Sometimes he thought his boss' and Ashie's elements got mixed up considering the Death Scythe was so glacial, but it didn't mean she was a bad person. He was sure there was a heart underneath it all, just buried very, very deep, and she only gave him the really thorough tongue-lashings when he'd done something that could get him killed. "Tough love, you know?" he mused aloud, and then bit his lip at his audacity..
Shaking his head, a movement that made his curls quiver, he slanted a look at Talu and Diemos, currently engaged in banter and friendly hazing. They were more playful than any of his tour-bies so far, and if Hanzel had a tail, it would have wagged. The others were so serious, or else boisterous and giggly in a really scary way. "I still get lost," he confided, rubbing an eye. "I fall asleep in weird places too. That's why I have my pager." He pulled out the old-fashioned device, chosen because it was durable, big and clunky and harder to misplace. "When I forget to bring it, they send out search parties."
He ducked his head, then brought it up again at Talu's question, sending her a distressed look. #7 wasn't like the dungeons or the restricted section of the library, which he could say were out of bounds, and she probably wouldn't get into trouble from Jerard for going there since his son ran the place, but Lucien was a girleater – and there was no way Hanzel could say that out loud. "It's not safe," he mumbled finally and rushed on before she could ask anything else. "If there's nowhere else you guys want a look at, I think that concludes the tour."

Talu covered her mouth as she laughed lightly. "That's a good way of looking at it." She enjoyed thinking about the better and lighter parts of certain situations. Hanzel seemed to be the type of person to want to see those sides and it was nice to know someone like that. She was happy have a tour guide that had a sense of humor and could crack a smile a lot more than Diemos does.
"It's a good thing then that you have that little guy." Talu pointed to the little pager. "It's better to be safe then sorry. " The tan-skinned girl chuckled, Diemos looking around a bit more.
"Maybe I should get you one, just in case when you get lost." Diemos smirked, putting his arms behind his head, almost resting his head against them as the continued down the hallway. Talu stuck her tongue out again before quickly pulling it back in, noting about the last time she did that.
'Not safe...' Talu thought before shrugging to herself as she and Diemos continued following. "I can't really think of anything else or anywhere else we need to go, can you?" She flickered her emerald gaze up at Diemos, said boy looking down and shaking his head. "Well, it was a fun tour and I'm sure that we'll be seeing you around. Hopefully with both of us on our way in the right direction and not being lost around here." Talu smiled bright, her hands folded behind her back.
