A friend of mine likes to use a saying from a German song, and I would like to make sure the correct translation is what they told me.
"Es ist das tier in mir." I have been told it mean 'It is the animal in me.'

yeah it means the animal inside you or rather the beast
the song is about someone who turns in some nights in a werewolf and so the "inner beast" discribes the werewolf

So it translates more closely to beast? That helps alot, although my friend uses it as an excuse.

no! "Tier" means "animal"! "Biest" would be more like "beast"
