With the new spider-bottom items comes a bit of a dilemma - which creature does it suit most? The driders from D&D, which were magically created from dark elves? Spider-centaurs? Or just another form of the Arachnids?

I may just make tekteks of all three, but I was curious what others thought. If anyone is reading this, care to give some input?

Driders are dark elves transformed into half-spider monsters by priestesses of the drow goddess Lolth/Lloth, the Spider Queen.

But since I first posted this thread I've seen another spider bottom available, and one that suits the driders far better. So I think I'll just make two races, the driders and the spider-centaurs. The Arachnid race from the Chestplate of Arachne is about possession, not transformation, and so I don't think it really suits it as well as I first thought.

Now, what to call a spider-centaur...? xd

For now I've settled on Arataur, although I may change it later if I get a better idea. My intent with the names is to make them sound like common race names, not scientific, and yet I do sometimes use parts of latin words. It just depends on how it sounds, and on whether I'd want to call myself that if I was one.

The one thing I'm unsure of now is whether I should keep all insect-taurs together, like they are now, or separate them into different species. Gaia's got three spider-bottoms now, and only one caterpillar, but who knows what they'll do next.

*sigh* If only we had a guildmember who worked for Gaia...[/wishful thinking]
