The Mummy of Khufu Rank: Two Antagonist: The Pharaoh NPC Accompaniment: Yes Souls Available: x7 Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE
Group Mission Rules: You have one week from the time an attack prompt is posted to respond. Failing to do so will result in the monster 'wandering off', and your pair will miss their chance. Doing this for the end 'boss' will result in a fail for all parties involved. Also, for this particular GRP, OOC chat is allowed, use italics at the bottom of your post. (We'll probably need it XD) Lastly - if you feel like something could be done better, tell me... i'm as new at this as you are @@;
Alexis frowned as she looked over the papers for the students that would be joining her on this group mission. It was the first in a while, but she had doubts about the mission success since it seemed like nobody knew anything about working together as a group.
The wind blew, carrying with it find grains of sand that scattered over her papers, and she folded them away, movements precise as she stuck them in her back pocket. The students were due to arrive any minute now, and it wouldn't do if they caught her still preparing. Bad for the image and all.
She stood, arms crossed over her chest, in front of the back entrance to the pyramid - one that staff used, but tourists didn't even know about. It would ensure that their entry was discreet, and should they run into others, it wouldn't be difficult to pretend they were lost tourists once they were in. The Khufu pyramid in Giza was one of the seven wonders of the world, and it simply wouldn't do for the general public to realize that something was going wrong.

With a gust of sand and wind blowing on by, the trio appeared where they needed to be. Not expecting the sand quite yet, the three ended up raising their arms and closing their eyes in an attempt to avoid getting sand in them.
"Woah! Dude, sandstorm already?"
"No.. I think we were just unlucky there..." replied Aryana as she brushed herself off with sand. Once the winds had died down, she looked around at their surroundings. And from the looks of things, the Death Scythe accompanying them was here, but not the other pair they were teaming up with.
It was exhilarating in a way, at least for Derek. This, being their first mission since ranking up and all. Not only that, but they weren't alone! Not to mention that none of them had been to Egypt before. So it was a new experience on all sorts of fronts.
Being able to see one of the seven wonders in person was quite a treat too.
"You know.. it's really amazing how they managed to build it..."

Cammi had never been more grateful for a bit of pre mission preparation than she was upon arriving at the designated location in Egypt. There was sand everywhere especially on the air and it brushed over her skin clinging a bit to the sweat already forming on bare patches. The blonde was looking forward to the mission though, a chance to prove herself after the disaster that had been her and Bianca's first. They'd been working hard since then and Bianca was undeniably stronger since they'd ranked up, all in all the odds seemed more in their favor this time.
They were prepared mentally and physically, also accessory wise. Cammi wore a pair of black gloves that helped improve her grip and prevented the sand from wearing at or sticking to them . It might not be a big help but Cammi had insisted upon them, sure they were better than just going in bare handed, only time would tell.
At the moment her main concern though was making her way over to the others, not that they were that far away, giving a friendly wave as she did so. Derek at least she remembered from the party earlier, his partners were a bit more hard to pin down, she thought she'd seen them there but perhaps not.
Bianca followed just a half step behind her taller partner, she shared Cammi's enthusiasm and eagerness to prove herself as well. Although right that second she was a bit more in awe of the famous structure before her than anything else. For all that it made her feel tiny it was an incredibly well built piece of architecture with more history then some countries. Bianca hoped they'd be given permission to stay after the mission and actually join one of the tour groups so they could better see the place and have it explained to them.
Examining the other she noted their staff members was both female and note the same person as before. It was both a relief and a disappointment.
"Do we have a plan?" She asked once she was within earshot of the rest of the assembled group.

Ah, students.
Alexis didn't resist the urge to frown as the short girl finally arrived and asked the question. "The plan" she began, putting extra emphasis on the word, "is to enter, and systematically go through the less-visited parts of the pyramid - the parts that the visitors don't regularly go, and see if we can detect any anomalies. I have with me here copies of the interior," she extracted a roll of paper from her back pocket, unrolled it, and handed a copy each to both pairs, "but we should be sticking together as a group."
Pausing for breath, Alexis casted less-than-friendly eyes over the five students before her, adding, "if you get lost, or separated from the group, I won't be coming back to look for you."
Threat given, she turned on her heel and stalked towards the back entrance. It opened within seconds of her discreet knock, and she stepped inside without a second glance. The interior was dim, and she paused for a second, allowing her eyes to adjust before heading further into the pyramid. If her calculations and information had been correct, then aiming for the very heart of the pyramid would be the best course of action right now. The mission wasn't going to be easy, and she wanted to start as soon as possible. It wasn't like talking would make the students more ready, and there wasn't much else in the way of preparation that she could give.
She only hoped they would be strong enough to take down the main culprit behind the disappearances.
Without looking back, she explained the mission further. "We're heading to the middle of the pyramid, where the disappearances seem the most frequent. Mummies don't usually get up and walk off without provocation, but be on the lookout for sudden attacks from objects and wrapped up corpses that look like they're harmless."

Seeing the other pair arrive at the scene, Derek waved at the two, remember seeing them at the party awhile back. Aryana gave a similar gesture, though she was less familiar with them as she and her brother only really caught glimpses of them before.
Once everyone was together, the three listened to what Alexis had to say about their mission. It sounded simple enough, but chances were that something was going to come up to complicate things. Especially since whatever was causing the disappearances was likely to be much more familiar with the pyramid's interior than any of them for the most part, even if they did have maps to guide them.
"Oh sweet, we get to go inside! I thought'd we'd be stuck out here the entire time," Derek remarked eagerly. Quite frankly, he was looking forward to seeing some mummies. As he thought of it, something came to mind, "Hey... aren't mummies that move around technically zombies with bandages?"
Hearing this, Andre shook his head to himself. To him, while it was cool that they were here and all, he wasn't quite as excited as Derek. Though, he was curious to what the interior would be like.
"I wonder if there's any traps... you know, like in the movies?"

" You realize that the company that runs tours could be sued if they allowed their staff to fall into traps right?" Bianca raised an eyebrow, though the lighting made it harder to see, as she spoke. "Not to mention the people first exploring every chamber here would likely have set off any traps that did exist on purpose purely to study how they worked. There could still be hidden traps but the Scythe girl highly doubted it. Not that she was trying to demean Derek only to keep him from being too overly cautious, if he was busy watching he feet for traps he wasn't watching elsewhere for danger.
"Objects?" Holding her pair's map, Cammi's eyes flicked between it and the people in front of her as she walked. It wasn't impressible to see in the dime lighting but it made some of the finger details harder to make out for her. " Does it have magic or something?" Could it bring things to life to fight for it? Cammi didn't think all the training she and Bi had done would amount to much if they had to fight magic so inexperienced.
Not that Cammi would back away from a challenge ever but damnit chasing the thrill of the unknown in missions was dangerous and until she got what felt like a solid win under her belt the technician girl was grudgingly wary about being overconfident. it was hard for her to shove her fearlessness and can do attitude aside but one mission had already taught her that in moments like these those types of thoughts unchecked could bring near disaster. The blonde didn't want to be responsible for anyone getting hurt today.

Alexis remained silent throughout the exchange between the two groups, though a brief look of contempt crossed her face, hidden in the dim lighting inside the pyramid. Talks of traps and sueing were really unnecessary, in her opinion.
Instead of saying the scathing words on her mind, however, Alexis contented herself with the iciness of her voice as she turned another corner. "We are not yet sure if we are dealing with mummies, but in any case, magic is something we will most likely have to deal with." How not? when things were disappearing and reappearing? And in their world, things were rarely ever unrelated to magic in some form or other.
Alexis' thoughts were less than complimentary as she stepped through an open doorway, into a large room that used to be open for tourist visits, but had long since fallen into disuse. There were still exhibits, though, less well-preserved mummies that stood or lay immobile in glass cases in the dim light. "This is where we begin," Alexis began, stopping her steps to face the group. "Visitors aren't allowed here anymore, because this is where it originally started." One hand raised up to gesture around the room and the multiple exits leading away from it, the movement dislodging a small cloud of dust. "According to the map, these exits all lead towards the center of the pyramid, though the paths are different. From here on, you children will be taking the initiative - decide which exit you would like to take."
Having said her bit, Alexis fell silent, moving from one glass case to another, looking closely at the mummies and the description plaques under each one. Some of the cases were empty, but she stopped to read them anyway - a few had been moved, but there were one or two that appeared to simply have gone missing. The students would have to decide where to go from here - she had a little more information to give them, but not much, as part of the reason why this particular mission was a group one was because they would have to investigate as well as deal with any problems or evil that came up.

For a few moments, Derek thought about what Bianca had to say, finding a good point in her words. He wasn't too worried about the prospect of traps, but it was definitely a curiosity. In an odd sort of way, he was almost hoping for a giant rolling boulder to come at them so they could high tail Indiana Jones-style.
Following Alexis, the trio looked at the things around them in the room. The way things were displayed were very much like ones in a museum and not entirely what some would have expected inside the great Pyramid.
"Well at least we might get to learn a bit here too, aside from seeking out clues..." mused Aryana as she paused by one of the exits to look into the hallway. After glancing down that way, she began to look at a few of the things right by the exit.
"Huh... what used to be here?" asked Derek as he walked up to one of the empty cases.
"Probably a mummy. That's my guess at least," muttered Andre in response.

Cammi consulted her map rather than looking around the room, she doubted any helpful clues would be found here or it would have been in the mission briefing and the grouchy woman with them would have said so. "I think we should go this way." She pointed in the direction of one of several exits, it was the route she liked the look of the most. The blonde then turned to face the other technician "What kind of reach do they have?" She gestured towards the twins? If nothing else her last mission had made Cammi focus on important things like distance and force a bit more. If the twins had better reached they and Derek should probbaly lead the way.
Bianca was silent having nothing else to add at the moment. Her focus now was on getting this right on proving how good a team she and Cammi were. The Scythe girl clenched her fists a bit in anticipation, she was ready to get on with it

"Very well." They'd picked a direction, at least, Alexis thought as she stepped towards the exit that Cammi had pointed to. "From here on, you should go first, as I am simply here for support." She stood by the exit, waiting for them to decide on some sort of order for their little procession.
Not that it really mattered, since her senses were telling her that there was something lurking just around the corner, but they would have to discover that for themselves.
EVENT! WHICHEVER OF YOU GOES FIRST: Stepping into the narrow hallway, you suddenly become aware that there is, in fact, someone or something in there with you! The mummy stepped out into the dim light, eerily silent except for the faint shuffle of dry cloth against dry cloth. Glowing red eyes turned to face the group, and there was no hint of hesitation in the mummy's rambling gait as it continued to move forward. Its intent was all too obvious, if the blood staining the bandages around its hands were any indication.
Seeing it, Alexis stepped back, waiting to see what would happen next. If their attack failed, then she would step in, but otherwise... it was time to see what this new batch of children were made of. She didn't expect much, but if they couldn't handle a simple mummy, this Mission would be nearly impossible.
PLEASE ROLL A 10-SIDED DICE TO DETERMINE THE SUCCESS/FAILURE OF YOUR ATTACK. 3 THROUGH 10 IS SUCCESS. 1/2 IS FAIL. GOOD LUCK!

Looking over towards Cammi, Derek nodded as he stepped towards the exit she picked out. Though, for a moment he paused to glance back at his weapons. Over all there wasn't that much of a reach to them, unless he hooked them together, but considering how narrow the corridors were he probably won't be doing that.
"A few feet. I can get more if I hook them together but I don't think I'll really have room to swing them around like that..." he said.
Not really thinking much about the reach and how it could effect things, he went ahead into the hallway with the twins following close behind. However, he was stopped fairly soon as a mummy stepped out before them with glowing red eyes and an intimidating look over all.
"Well I think we found one of the missing mummies," mumbled Andre before quickly shifting into his weapon form. And soon enough, both he and Aryana were in Derek's hands.

With a slight grin, Derek glanced back over at the other pair to see if they were ready to get this going. To an extent, he was rather glad they were getting some action here. If nothing turned up with this mission, it meant their time was more or less wasted. Once he was all set, he darted forward and slashed at the mummy's torso with both blades.

It looked like the first kill was going to end up being Derek's Bianca mused as she watched him slash at the mummy, although the first death was going to be his too if he continued to lead them but take his eye off the targets as well. Now wasn't the time for criticism though, the weapon girl was in her scythe form and ready to be used in case the other's attack failed or was not enough. He'd have to duck ro slide back for Cammi to wiled her at all in this area but it could be done.
Glowing eyes or not Cammi found herself less intimidated by the mummy than she probbaly should have been. Though it's white garb now stained red reminded her of Santa Isabella and her first disastrous mission. The mummy itself was not terrifying in fact it's presence only served to flood adrenaline through her body, making her gloved hands grip Bianca tighter. She had the scythe angles sideways as if she had already slashed with her. A bludgeoning boy at a time like this was more called for and Cammi was ready to deliver it if she had to.
( I assumed the area was too narrowed for both pairs to attack at once in. Nice roll blade)

The mummy pushed on forward, shambling until it was within reach of Derek's WEAPONS, apparently ignoring the deadly blades as it tried to grab the TECHNICIAN's head. The boy was quicker, though, and as both blades sliced through the wrappings around the mummy, there was an almost inaudible *pop*, and the ancient artifact slumped to the ground.
Within seconds, it dissolved into a pile of dust, leaving nothing but the old cloth behind. And of course, a soul:

Action over, Alexis stepped forward once again, no emotion in her face to reflect her reactions to Derek's attack just moments before. "Good. At least you have shown you can handle the minions. Take the soul, let's move on."
Without another word, the Death Scythe stepped to the side, indicating clearly that the students should precede her. The hallway was a long, winding one, interspersed here and there with the occasional room that led nowhere. Some of the rooms were boarded up, others locked, though a few were open and seemed to still be relatively well-maintained. While their goal was to eventually reach deeper into the pyramid, they were in no particular hurry... yet. Alexis was fairly certain there were other walking corpses around, and part of their Mission was to do cleanup, as well as get to the root of the problem.

The skirmish was over before he even knew it, but Derek supposed it was just because the mummy was only a small fry. After glancing behind at the rest of the group, he nodded lightly at Alexis's words. One thing for certain; they'd need to keep their eyes open for more of these creatures, as well as whatever was behind them.
Just as her technician began to move again, Aryana reached out for the soul to take it. Once it was stored away, she let out a mental sigh.

While he walked down the hallway, Derek watched out for other possible threats that may pop into view.
"Hey, just how far is the place we need to reach anyway?" he asked

Could souls taste old? Were old souls more fulfilling in some sort of magical way than young ones? Cammi pondered this briefly before directing her eyes down to the map which she held in one hand whole the other remained on Bianca. "Far probably an hour or two at a reasonable pace , not taking into account attacks." The underground chambers of the pyramids apparently took up more than a goddamn block of land, well based on how she was reading the map anyways.
" Hold up a minute" The blonde called turning left into one of the open rooms. Might as well check to see if stuff was missing here too right?
Stick me in first not your head, Bianca snapped at her technician, honestly weapons could see for a reason. Ahh they were in now anyways...
Both weapon and technician scanned the room for anything that seemed out of place.
