In my English class, we have to write every day as a bellringer. We only get maybe five min to do them and our only inspiration in a picture. This was my best one (in comparison to the others).

Spirit
Inspired by: unknown object looks like a kind of berry in a delicate webbed cage

It hung in the air, a ball of light, glowing then dimming. It made not a sound as it drifted down the worn forest path that so many had traveled before. Only this one was speedy, ignoring the sweet smalling roses that lived along the worn road. As it came to the end of its journey, it was surprised to find a void of nothing. The trail had ended, the roses were gone. It began to turn around, only to hit a wall. The unmovable wall was clear and clean and the dimming ball pressed against it, eager to see what lay behind him. There was the trail, unmarked by its journey and the roses, not able to be smelled any longer. The light grew more faint and turned a light blue, just before it burned out forever.

You did a really good job of setting the mood with this one; I came away from it feeling somber and even empathetic toward the little spirit. Good job! =)
