Marine Story Line
This is the story of the a UNSC fleet called the Freedom's Return and its marine compliment the 526th Marine Infantry Regiment. This Fleet consists of three ships which were all that the UNSC could spare from the defense of Earth and Lord Hood was very unwilling to let them go. The Capital Ship of this Fleet is the UNSC Cruiser "Autumn's Grace" and she is escorted by a Destroyer and a Frigate. The destroyer is the UNSC "Red Bear" and the frigate is the UNSC "Fearless III". All three of these ships have seen combat before and know full well what the Covenant forces can do. On a side note, the only new equipment this fleet has is her compliment of Marines mostly fresh from boot, who were rushed through the camp so they could help with the defense of Earth.
Freedom's Return is under the command of Admiral Lance MacClevemore, or more commonly known as "Admiral Mac" or "Lil Mac." Who is a veteran of countless engagements with the Covenant. Freedom's Return was picking up a fresh supply of marines from a UNSC base that is hidden from the Covenant and was en-route to go help the defense of earth, but before the Fleet could arrive they were immediately order to go assist in the evacuation efforts on the planet call, Ulysses. Upon arrival to the planet, they noticed a outnumbering Covenant fleet. The UNSC FleetFreedom's Return took to covert actions and hid from the Covenant forces behind the single moon of the planet. The orders of the fleet were to evacuate the civilian population, emphasis on certain high profile individuals with certain knowledge and degrees to assist humanity in their survival.
The story begins with six Pelican drop-ships that were sent to meet up with and escort a Police Pelican which held Chief Astrophysicist Sandra Lee. She and her crew of two other scientists and two pilots were shot down inside of planet Ulysses only 3 cities. The capital Christel, is the only non-glassed city remaining. -please see planet status for more details on planet- Out of the six Pelicans sent out, two were able to land mid city next while three were shot down, the last was instantly destroyed by the covenant forces invading the city. This is your mission, regroup with surviving UNSC forces, find Dr. Lee, bring her and her crew to the evacuation point alive.
