Mikoto slammed his fists into the dinner table and stood up, "What just because those two were Furai you attacked them?! I should have been punished for leaving, they had nothing to do with this!"
"They were in our territory." his father said calmly.
"That's no excuse! It's just a silly line in the dirt! You didn't have to hurt them-" Mikoto dropped to his knees and broke into a coughing fit. He covered his mouth and waited for it to end, his lungs stinging with unbearable pain.
He clenched his now bloody fist and stood up, "I'm going out."
"No you're not." his father hissed.
"Watch me." Mikoto said evenly, dashing out to his small dragon. He hopped onto it's back and flew towards the border of Furui and Korai territory, a large gully.

Celeste spun around, humming to herself as she picked flowers around the gully. She had made a crown of pink and purple flowers and it fit nicely on her head.

Mikoto's lungs still burned but he ignored it and landed a few meters away from Celeste. He hopped off but didn't quite stick the landing and dropped to one knee.

Celeste jumped slightly and stopped humming. She turned around and tilted her head when she saw Mikoto.

Mikoto cursed under his breath and stood up. He rubbed his dragon's mane and let it eat the grass around them.
He glanced at Celeste.

Mikoto smiled slightly, "Hey."
He blinked, realizing he had rubbed the blood he coughed into his hand all over his dragon's mane.

Mikoto sighed and grabbed a gourd off his belt to wash out the dragon's hair.
"Yeah I'm fine. Don't worry, miss."

Celeste sighed in relief and knelt down to continue picking flowers, weaving them into jewelry.

Mikoto watched curiously while he washed his own hands.

Celeste giggled as she slipped the flower bracelets onto her wrists. She looked up at Mikoto and smiled brightly. She got up and trotted over to him, placing a flower necklace around his neck.

Mikoto's dragon blinked and looked at him with an unspoken question in his eyes. Mikoto shrugged.
He pulled on the dragon's reign and only walked a few steps before breaking into another coughing fit.
