Rules

Basic Rules
1. FOLLOW TOS!
2. No cybering.
3. No n00b talk (l8r, gr8, etc...)
4. Respect fellow members. If you are caught insulting someone, you will be given one warning. If it continues, you will be immediately banned.
6. THIS GUILD IS LITERATE! So do your best when it comes to spelling and grammar.

More Specific Rules
1. Since this guild is an AU (alternate universe) that means that none of you characters can have any thing to do with any of the original characters of the "Warriors" series by Erin Hunter.
2. When battling another user's cat, DO NOT KILL THEM WITHOUT PERMISSION, that means no fatally wounding, no wounding so severely that they will die later unless you have their permission. P.S. You can kill all cats controlled by you in any way you want. Just don't make it anything rated R.
3. Absolutely no, under any circumstances, there shall be no power plays! These include phrases such as, but are not limited to, "My cat is the strongest." or "My cat is the most beautiful." and "My cat is totally the smartest one out of the entire clan." ... No, NO, N-O!!! There's no way you can possibly prove that, so don't bother. If you want others to know that your cat is strong, etc., simply put, "My cat is strong," or something along those lines.
4. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT play as anyone else's cats. If you do happen to have permission, then simply state so in OOC. ***OOC will be covered in a later part of this post.
5. Be original. Don't copy others. If you like something about another's cat then ask if you can use it. ***This doesn't apply to e.g. If you like a pelt color, but you're going to have a different eye color and personality. I'm referring to same eye and pelt color, or exact same personality.
6. Formats will be given so you know how to post in a certain forum. Be sure to read it.
7. Post a profile, then post. Don't wait, just post.

Reasons for Being Banned
1. Failure to follow rules after repeated warnings.
2. Failure to cooperate with others. ((If you have a problem, notify a mod.))

Things You Should Be Aware Of
1. The crew members have the right to edit your post if you have used bad grammar, or have not followed the correct formatting of the thread.
2. They will issue a warning in a private message if the do edit a post, so if you do not receive one, please notify me.
3. OOC a.k.a Out of Character, is when you speak as yourself during the role-play. When speaking OOC do not color code you post, and put it in doubled parenthesis ((like so,)) and be sure to make it size nine font.
4. If you think the crew should be aware of something that they're not, please report it in a private message, don't post it publicly and expect us to see it. Believe me when I say sometimes we miss things. So help us, help you.
5. Your cat ages one moon after every Gathering, but you don't have to worry, the mods will adjust your age for you.
6. If you want to role-play with another cat from another clan, decide whose territory you will role-play on, and role-play there.
7. When viewing the Allegiances page, or the allotted "_____Clan Cats" thread, take notice that if a name has a strike through it, the cat is either, missing, dead, of no longer in the clan; e.g. Runningshadow

Becoming a Medicine Cat or Deputy
1. Send a private message to the Captain (me).
It must include:
-Your cat's profile using the correct format from the forums.
-The Position you want
-How often you get on
-A short RP sample. If you are to be a Deputy, RP showing that your cat is capable, and if you're going to be a medicine cat, role-play demonstrating that you know how to use at least two herbs.
2. Once you do that, wait because I'll go over it and send it to your leader to look at and we'll both think about whether or not to promote you.

Fighting Techniques

Back kick:
Explosive surprise move to catch opponent from behind. Judge opponent's distance from you carefully; then lash out with your back legs, taking your weight on your front paws.

Belly rake:
A fight-stopper. Slice with unsheathed claws across soft flesh of opponent's belly. If you're pinned down, the belly rake quickly puts you back in control.

Front paw blow:
Frontal attack. Being your paw down hard on your opponent's head. Claws sheathed.

Front paw strike:
Frontal attack. Slice downward with your front paw at the body or face of your opponent. Claws unsheathed.

Killing bite:
A death blow to the back of the neck. Quick and silent and sometimes considered dishonorable. Used only as a last resort.

Leap-and-hold:
Ideal for a small cat facing a large opponent. Spring onto opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the ranges of you opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll countermove, and try to jump free before you get squashed.

Partner fighting:
Warriors who have trained and fought together will often instinctively fall into a paired defensive position, each protecting the other's back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers.

Play dead:
Effective in a tight situation, such as when pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes his grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in an attacking position.

Scruff shake:
Secure a strong teeth grip in the scruff of your opponent's neck; then shake violently until he or she is too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, which are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them.

Teeth grip:
Target your opponent's extremities - the legs, tail, scruff, or ears - and sink your teeth and hold. This move is similar to the leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to right.

Upright lock:
Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring full weight on opponent. If opponent does same, wrestle and flip him under you. This move makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so requires great strength and speed.

History of the Six Clans

Once again the valley's peace was disturbed as Sun, leader of the Fellowship attacked the clans, threatening to tear them apart. Riverstar and Cometstar, feeling their love for one another strengthened, ran from it all and gave forth a kit.

The kit grew to be Moonteller, and he returned to the nearly demolished clans, rallying the cats together once more and thwarting Sun and the Fellowship. All became peaceful again for many moons, until the day of black sun.

Quick Grammar Lesson

Now for those of you who have been having their posts edited, it's time you had a little grammar lesson. And for those of you who haven't then it wouldn't hurt to have a little brush up on your grammar.

Lesson One: Punctuation

Pay attention my pretties as I explain how punctuation works in an easy to follow, easy to read guide.

Period (.)
These are used to signify the end of a complete sentence.

Comma (,)
Commas are used to separate two complete thoughts within a complex sentence in their most basic form. Now, commas can also be used to add a thought that doesn't pertain to the sentence, like extra information and names.
e.g. She climbed the tree with ease, it wasn't very that hard, after all she was the best climber.
See, that sentence doesn't need the phrase, "it wasn't very hard," because it's excess.
Commas are also used to separate linking words from the rest of the sentence.
e.g. Look, I don't want to have to do this.
In general, commas can also be used a a breath. So if the person were to read it aloud, they'd know where to breath because a comma would be there. Commas also play an important role in dialogue, but we'll cover that later.

Semi colon (;.)
A semi colon is used to separate two independent clauses. Unlike a comma, which is used to separate an independent and dependent clause, a semi colon separates two like independent clauses.
e.g. Can you believe she did that; isn't that just incredible?

Apostrophe (')
Apostrophes are used to express possession, as well as conjunctions.

Quotation Marks (")
Quotation marks are used to indicate dialogue, quotes, or supposed meaning or sarcasm of a word.
e.g. Yeah, I guess you could say he was "running."
Another rule to take note of is that any punctuation that will be used, must be used within the quotation marks.

Parenthesis (())
Parenthesis are used to express added voice in a sentence. These are rarely found in fictitious writings written from any form of third person, though are commonly found in first person, second person, and informative pieces.
e.g. I was scared (not that I wasn't already scared), needless to say.

Excalmation Point (!)
An exclamation point is used to express strong emotion in any form, and follows the same basic rules as the period, until we get to dialogue.
e.g. "I can't believe you just did that!" Cathy exclaimed.

Question Mark (?)
Question marks are used to express a question, and follow the same rules as the period, with the exception of with dialogue.

***Note, when using question marks and exclamation points, do not put the two together, e.g. "What?!" She screamed.
"She screamed," already describes that you meant for the phrase to have strong emotion as she asked the question. Therefore, the correct way to type this sentence would be, "What?" she screamed.
Now I suppose you'd wonder why I neglected to capitalize, "she." Well, read on and I will explain.

Lesson Two: Capitalization

Capitol letters are put into a sentence to signify certain aspects about it. Read about some of the places capitol letter can be used.

The beginning of a sentence: Capitols must be used to signify the beginning of a sentence. So basically, they will be used after the following punctuation marks, ?, !, .

Proper Nouns: Proper Nouns are people, names, and names of places. Therefore, they must be capitalized.

Lesson Three: Dialogue

Dialogue is when a character says something, for a basic definition. Now there are special rules to keep in mind when using dialogue, and are explained below.

How to Show Dialogue: Dialogue must be signified by the presence of a set of quotation marks.

Dialogue Ending in a Period
Any dialogue that ends with a period must have a capitol letter to start the next sentence.

Dialogue Ending in an Exclamation Point of Question Mark
Any dialogue that ends with and exclamation point or question mark will not be followed by a capitol if the word that starts the next sentence is a pronoun, or anything but a proper noun.
e.g. "That was quite the adventure, wouldn't you agree?" he said.

Dialogue Ending in a Comma
Dialogue that ends in a comma is not a complete sentence, therefore requires that you continue in a regular fashion. For simple sentenced dialogue is is actually more grammatically correct to use a comma instead of a period.
e.g. "I guess so," she murmured.

***Note, whenever a new character is speaking, or your character starts off on another subject, you must start a new paragraph.

Examples of Dialogue

"Well I suppose that just wouldn't do," he sighed. "What do you think?"

"Well I suppose that just wouldn't do," he sighed, then added, "What do you think?

"Children," she snapped, "get into your seats!"

"Is she insane?" Fredrick moaned.

Hope this little grammar lesson improves your role-playing. I may add more later, so keep checking back.

Key
Independent Clause: Basically a phrase/ simple sentence that can stand on its own.
Dependent Clause: A phrase that depends on another clause, and cannot stand by itself.
Phrase: A thought.
