Fahr was different, abnormal, odd. He was funloving in his poverty ridden town and alway made the best of every situation. He strolled around the town getting weird looks. He was the only one who read instead of hunted, wrote stories instead of filling himself with booze. He had heard of the beasts castle but never thought of it. After all, it was just a myth.
Wasn't it?
He looked at the old castle, hidden by many trees, all he could see was the tallest spire. As he became lost in his thoughs, the air was knocked out of him.
"Get up you lazy bookworm." Came from a cloaked being. Fahr stood and held his gound. "What do you want?" His voice held no fear, as he believed there was no need for fear.
"You couldn't last one night in the wood. If you do, I'll give you a small fortune. Then maybe you could not be such a nuisance." Another blow came towards him but he moved out of the way. "I'll go..."
the men of the Village had grown up hearing of the Beast, A woman so scorned that she became that that she hated, a beast that would kill any who ventured into her land.
Freyja stood at the balcony that over looked her land. She was turned because of Vanity, Greed and Selfishness. as the years passed since then she had grown bitter, no one would be able to accept her as she was. she killed any who looked upon her face. she knew that Men where easily spooked, if one got out, if one of them saw her and escaped to tell the others, she would be hunted down and killed like a beast. she waited her days out, watching the gate into her castle, any who ventured through the gate would be killed. she was waiting for the day when she died, she knew that once that happened she would be free of her cursed body.
Fahr stood in the forest, nothing but his clothes and his staff to protect him. He needed the money, more than anything. His mother was sick and he needed the care that they didn't have. He walked through the forest, utterly lost and still he smiled about it. Things happened for strange reasons, and even stranger still, the outcomes. He walked through the forest and after an hour came upon the castle. He looked behind him, feeling the chill of the late hour coming. "Lady moon has blest me tonight..." He said, opening the gate.
By the time he arrived at the gate she had left the balcony and was somewhere deep within the Castle, Sulking in the darkened Cave that where beneath it. she used the caves as a place to get out anger, before she was turned she use to explore them with her servants, she never liked being still, she had long forgotten about the books she so cherished before.
Fahr opened the castle gate, not heading the warnings given by his town. They didn't truely care and he didn't have much to worry about. He traveled up to the door and opened it slightly slipping away from the cold. He walked in and looked around, and seeing no one, he started exploring this beautiful castle. There were paintings everywhere, from everytime period. He took in the sight of the culture.
Some how he ended up in the dance hall. it was beautiful, you could see the little town through the wall of windows. the chandelier glimmered in the light from outside. once he was in the room one of the walls moved back and a beast a good head above him walked out slamming the door behind them. (is it going to be with the servants that are part of the castle and all?)
(Fine by me ^^)
Fahr turned around in shook and backed away slowly. His vivid red eyes looked at her in fear, but he kept calm at the sight on her. "I am sorry for disturbing you... I meant no harm..." He knew his pleas would not save him from any wrath dealt on him. He was not a fighter, merely a artist stuck in the wrong time.
before the beast could even do more then snarl he felt someone pull him back and when he looked it was a candle stand, it moved like it was alive, then it spoke as the beast neared him "You cannot harm our guest, he has come so far we cannot throw him to the snow yet, we must never be disrespectful to our guests"
the beast growls "Fine! once he has found what he wants he can leave!" she snarls storming by him and up to her room.
"This is way too cool... Weird... but cool..." Fahr said looking at the candle stick and back at the beast. "But... How is this happening?" He asked the candlestick. Much more compossed then what he felt.
"come sit, are you hungry, we can bring you something warm to drink" it tried to not come to telling him what happened. the candlestick leads him to the sitting room near a large fireplace and a seat.
Fahr followed the animated talking candle stick. "This can't be happening..." He told himself. He had seen too much to comprehend. He sits in the chair and sighs out, unaware that this was only the begining.
Tea and some food arrives they all watched him shocked, none of them could believe he was there "Are you going to be staying the night sir?" the teapot asked.
"Well, if your mistress doesn't mind..." Fahr said, taking a sip of the warm tea. It made the cold rush out of his body. "Thank you..." He said, nibbling a roll.
"Our mistress does not like anyone in the castle staring at her, she tends to get angry about them being here, but you did not come here with any army or anger.. you are not a threat to her.." the teapot said
Fahr nodded in thought. "Please, you did not answer my question earlier. What is going on here? How is this happening?" He asked, utterly confused.
"the lady was cursed to live her life out like that because of a selfish act she did towards a witch. we are her servants and we where cursed along with her" the teapot gave him another drink.
He nodded, understanding. He thought for a long time, taking drink after drink of the hat tea. He looked up at the teapot and candlestick and smiled. "What can I do to help?" He asked, wanting to do anything he could for these kind... people.
"Help?" they look at each other sortof smiling then at him "She needs to see who she is on the inside does not reflect on the outside..."
"Well, how can I help? Do I need to say for a while?" Fahr had a habit of bring out the best in those who got to know him. He was outgoing and sweet. This might be something that he could do.
"We are not sure, but i might help her to be around humans" they said together
"Alright. I'll stay. And try to help her." Fahr said, with a smile. He could see the bright silver lining around this cloud.
they lead him to his room "You can move around the castle, do not enter the caves or the east wing, those are her areas"
"Alright... Caves, east wing, no go boundries, got it." He opened the door and gasped at the high valted celings. "Cool."
they stop at the door "It is late get some rest, tomorrow you will be able to see the rest of the castle.." they bow and close the door.
Fahr thought it would be difficult for him to fall asleep, all the event having taken place, but the bed was soft and the room inviting. He fell into a deep slumber.
The next morning he could hear music, someone was playing the piano but they where having a hard time with it, the sound echoed through the castle making it become eerie. when he investigated it he saw the beast-girl was playing the piano, the candlestick resting next to the notes telling her what to play but because of her large nails it was hard for her to hit the right notes and it was angering her.
Fahr walked in the room slowly, not making any sound. He could see her anger and feft a small twinge in his heart. "Freyja?" He walked up to her and stood by the piano. He waited for her reaction weither good or bad. "Here, let me help you..."
she looked at him "You cannot help me.. my hands are too big, they are in the way of the keys..." she bangs her hand down knocking the candle stick off where he was balanced.
"Freyja..." Fahr's voice is soft and kind, as he sits beside her and places his hands on the piano. "Try using your nails. They are strong and then it might be slow at first, but you will get use to it." He sat close beside her, not caring about her exterior. He leaned over and picked up the candlestick.
she sighs and plays slowly trying her nails she was slower at playing but it sounded better and she didn't have as much problem with getting her nails stuck in the ivory.
another one of the servants came running into the room "It is snowing my lady.." she looks towards the windows and could see the snow falling lit up by the morning sun.
Fahr smiled, looking outside. "Lets got Freyja! It will be fun! Just let me grab a coat." He grabbed her hands and pulled her up. "And I won't accept no as an answer..."
she looked shocked as she was led to the door. when he put his coat on she opened the door letting him out. it was into a cute little garden in the center of the castle, it was open to the elements and already had a good amount of snow down. she walks out into the snow and slides her hand along the ground picking up a little bit of it.
Fahr smiled. "Freyja, whats you favorite season?" He asked, grabbing a hand full of snow and tossing it upwards. It landed on his head, letting his hair drip with water. He chuckled and grabbed some more, tossing it at Freyja.
she went to catch it and it just exploded covering her in snow and she shakes it out "Winter" she throws a big handful at him. she wasnt very skilled at throwing it.
He dodged the snowball and tossed one back at her. "Same. What do you like to do?" He hid behind a tree and laughed. "You can't throw at all." He said while laughing.
she grows some brushing the snowball off her face "I dont know..." she makes a big snowball, he could see that her problem was the nails, they where too long to do anything with. she throws the snowball, this time it hit him.
"You know, things would be a lot easier if you cut your nails..." He said, trying to help. He shook of the snow and smiled.
"I live with living inanimate objects and cant really do it my self." she smiles some having fun in the snow.
