waypou2004 Kanna: *looks around as she drinks from a creek* The water's so fresh here! wolfpuppies Elan shook his fur as he got up. He had heard a voice up ahead which had woken him. Walking closer, he spotted another Foundling by a creek. "Hello," He murmured, walking forward. waypou2004 Kanna jumped a little, being surprised by the other Foundling. "Oh, um, hello there." What an exotic coat. She thought. wolfpuppies Elan blinked as he realized that the female had scars covering her body. "I'm sorry if I suprised you." He smiled kindly. Sitting down, Elan wondered how he would talk to this new creature. She seemed shy... waypou2004 Kanna smiled lighty. "I-it's alright... Is this your land? If it is, I'm sorry that I'm trespassing, and I...I'll leave immediately." She said, her smile fading into a look of worry. wolfpuppies Elan shook his head. "Don't worry. This isn't my land, nor is it anybody's right now." His voice was kind, gentle. Stretching, the male enjoyed the dappled light warming his brown and pink coat. waypou2004 "O-oh." Kanna muttered. She felt relieved that she wasn't causing trouble. A small content smile played on her face. She inhaled the warm air and released it slowly. It felt great. For a moment, Kanna forgot all about the exotic-coated Foundling. She almost laughed. "May I ask your name?" She asked, glancing shyly at the male. wolfpuppies Elan sighed softly. It was always so relaxing and peaceful here in the woods. Pricking his ears, he glanced at the female. "My name is Elan. What is your name?" I wonder why she's so formal... He thought curiously. Of course he wouldn't pry, for that was rude and could lead to problems. waypou2004 Kanna smiled brightly. "Oh, I'm Kanna." She replied happily. Her eyes met Elan's for the first time. She liked the fact that eye contact with this Foundling didn't frighten her. wolfpuppies Elan chuckled in a friendly way, before saying "You have a lovely smile." His words were genuine. Her whole face lit up, showing a sweet side underneath all the shyness. He blinked, feeling something hit his nose and back. Looking up, the male saw clouds gathering in the sky. "Looks like it's going to rain." He grumbled to himself. Rising to his paws, Elan looked around. "We should probably find shelter before the storm hits." He looked back at Kanna. waypou2004 Kanna blushed brightly, clearly embarrassed. She stared at the ground. "Oh, perhaps we should go." She agreed.

Elan looked around, he knew there was a den not too far from where they were. The only problem with it was the fact that it led underground and the areas were tight, making any Foundlings have to huddle close together. That would seem awkward and rude in any situation. On top of that, it's quite drafty, he thought trying to remember other feature of the land. "Do you know somewhere we can wait out the storm?" He glanced at Kanna. She was looking at the ground for some reason, worrying Elan. He walked over to her. "Are you alright?" He leaned down, trying to get a good look at the female's face. He was good at figuring out emotions and illnesses from looking at another's face.

Kanna looked up at Elan. "J-just fine, sorry to worry you." She said, giving the male a weak smile. But why would I worry him... She thought. She shook the thought away and looked around. "I believe that there is a hollow tree somewhere around here." Kanna muttered thoughtfully. "Oh, I remember, it's this way." She said aloud, mostly to herself. She began to trot away down a path when she remembered that she was leaving poor Elan behind. She giggled in embarrassment. "Coming?" She asked playfully.

Elan's eyes were full of doubt at Kanna's weak smile. He wouldn't press the female though. His ears pricked when she mentioned a spot for them to go. Of course if it had become occupied or something happened to it, he'd suggest the cave. With a shiver at the light sprinkle that had started, Elan followed behind Kanna. He bounded forward to catch up to her when she called back to him. "You kidding? I was thinking that you were walking too slow," His smile was friendly, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm although the world had become silent and dreary.

Kanna enjoyed Elan's company fully. She had never been friends with another Foundling. As they walked, Kanna playfully rubbed her side against his. She giggled, breaking the eerie silence that had surrounded them. Kanna could see the giant hollowed tree up ahead, it was a dying old tree but still had clumps of green leaves here and there. She sighed lightly, feeling a bit of contented comfort in knowing they would be out of the rain. She darted ahead yelling behind her, "Hurry Elan! It's right up here!" She reached the tree and stopped in her tracks. She waited for Elan to catch up. Turning to watch him run, she had a smile upon her face, a genuine smile of happiness.

Elan followed alongside Kanna, listening to the rain's musical pitter-patter. He blushed a bit when Kanna rub her side against his, but he smiled at her kindly. The male then noticed the tree up ahead, right as Kanna darted forward. "Alright," he chuckled, picking up his pace. He shook his fur once, releasing a fountain of water in the rainfall. Looking up, he noticed Kanna smiling again. There's that smile, he thought content. She seemed to have cheered up in his company, making Elan all warm and fuzzy inside. Finally next to the black female, He dipped his upper body before saying "Ladies first." He then looked up to see her reaction. Had he overdone it?

Kanna blushed lightly. "Why thank you kind sir." She said, giggling. She entered the tree and turned back to look at Elan. "It's comfy in here." She remarked, smiling still. She found a cozy corner and laid down.

Elan chuckled softly before lying down next to Kanna. It was much warmer than he had thought, also quite dry. It took only a few short moments before the rain picked up, turning into a heavy rainstorm. "Looks like we just barely made it out," he noted mostly to himself. He was very aware of how close the two were laying, but it would keep them warmer and drier. If only things would clear up soon. He really wanted to show Kanna his favorite spot in the forest.

Kanna shivered a bit. "The wind is chilling." She whispered, nuzzlig shyly, closer to Elan to stay warm. She closed her eyes and listened to the rain fall. It seemed to come down in sheets, left to right, then start over again.

"Yeah," Elan sighed. He glanced down at Kanna as she nuzzled closer to him. He kept his head up, ears pricked in alert. Other creatures may have the same idea as them, making it dangerous to drop one's guard. With a yawn, Elan shifted, leaning more toward his companion. He wouldn't sleep until he felt safe. "I wonder how long this storm will last."

"I think it'll stop soon...At least I hope it will." Kanna remarked, shivering lightly. She put her head down on her front paws and exhaled a deep breath. She slowly drifted off to sleep, not worrying much about other creatures.

"As do I," Elan murmured. He glanced at the female, feeling her breathing slow. She must have been exhausted, he remarked silently. Although still unsure of the outside creatures, Elan lay his head on Kanna's back. Closing his eyes, the male relaxed his muscles as he prepared for slumber. Soon his breathing slowed to match Kanna's and he was sound asleep. * * * * * * * * Blinking his eyes, Elan lifted his head. He looked around, dazed and unsure of his location. That's when he heard Kanna's soft breathing and the rain falling on the tree that the pair had taken refuge in. There was a light haze in the area, hinting that the sun was hidden behind the cloud cover. A yawn escaped the brown male's lips as he wakened further. It appeared that they would be stuck in the tree for a while longer.

Kanna shifted her position, waking gently back into the world. She opened her eyes and streched from head to fluffy tail. "Is it done raining?" She asked though a yawn. Kanna blinked, looking around. It seems that the rain had answered her question, because it seemed to fall harder. "Oh." She muttered. She looked to Elan and asked him in a kind, curious voice, "So what are we to do now?"

"I don't know, Kanna." Elan sighed. Even if the rain stopped, the ground would be hard to walk in after such a downpour. There went his plans of showing Kanna his favorite place ever. He glanced at the female before trying to think of something. "We could talk more, sleep longer, play a game of riddles..." He trailed off with a shrug.
