The Gas Man Cometh

So I have heard the cliche that an intact male is MORE likely to contract HIV than a cut male, due to the foreskin being more conducive of the disease.

I've also been told "that the lack of circumcision is one of the many reasons why STDs are so rampant in Africa" "That little flap is a VERY easy place for germs to fester, and infect others, and possibly even yourself."

I have reason to believe that the first point is somewhat true, though so substantially small in chance that a simple condom works as well for an intact male as for a cut male.

As for the second point, I thought it was bullshit and my reply to that ignoramus: "Actually, it's their refusal to wear condoms that is the leading cause of AIDS being so rampant in Africa.

If a circumcised male has unprotected sex with an HIV positive female, he can STILL contract HIV and have it morph into AIDS."

If I recall correctly, too, most males in Africa are in fact ALREADY circumcised... making that ignoramus' claim ABSOLUTE bullshit.

What do you all think about AIDS in relation to circumcision? I'm going to research it more.

its irrelevant. In many African cultures a man can lie with as many women as he wants while the wife must be loyal to her husband. When he comes home and lies with her, giving her an STD it is believed that she mush have done something wrong and made him unclean. So he must lay with 7 virgins to make himself clean. This and other cultural reasons like the lack of condoms and lack of monogamy is why AIDS is so far spread in Africa.

That's disgusting, so all the 7 virgins are then infected.

I also have found that using one needle for hundreds of patients without cleaning it in between is another leading cause of AIDS being so rampant in Africa AND Asia.

There's simply no relation. This may not even be related but the only men I know with stds are circumcised. I feel that the foreskin has nothing to do with disease also since all the intact men I know have never had stds and they have quite a bit of sex .

I just don't believe it's a reason, it may benefit sexually promiscuous men who have no running water in Africa, but not infant boys in America who have running water and can learn how to use a condom in their teens and stick to it.

The information correlation between HIV/AIDs and circumcision doesn't hold much water. The Americas boast more than 70% of all AIDS cases while Africa and its regions only has about 13%. And yet, America has the highest percentage of circumcised individuals. If circumcision protects against AIDS/HIV, then wouldn't America have the lowest percentage of HIV infected individuals?

Indeed. I don't believe the foreskin increases the chance of contracting HIV. A p***s goes into a woman or man with HIV then that p***s, uncovered, foreskin or not is just as likely as each other to contract HIV themselves.

Also, removing the foreskin doesn't stop HIV getting in when you're stuck with an infected needle.

I once made a series of calculations which assumed that rates of transfer in circumcised vs. non-circumcised males were actually true, and once I factored in other things such as the actual likelihood of having sexual contact with a person who has AIDS in the first place, the overall benefit of circumcision ended up being around a fraction of a percent for both heterosexual and homosexual sex.

I should probably re-do those at some point, I've ever since lost the post xd
