Each week in GBC Growth Group, we're given something to study each day.....this week, we're going through Romans 5: 8-9 in the NIV (which is annoying...but it's the bible the church preaches from).
Anywho.....we're going through the basic beliefs of Christianity. Starting with Salvation.
Day one, we went through the intensity of God's love. Day two was about His Grace and how we're undeserving of such Grace, but He loved us so much that He sent His son to die for us. The undesevering, unworthy sinners.
Personally, I find God's love AMAZING!

Personally I think we are some what deserving and worthy to receive God's love and the grace that He had offered, because otherwise He wouldn't have sent His Son to redeem us.

Well....think about it. Do people who spat upon Him before His death, and still do in a sense today, deserve to be up there in Paradise with Him? Honestly..........I don't think so.
But because He loves us unconditionally and so much, He was willing to just give us the chance to choose Him so He could cast off our sins without having to sacrifice animals to make up for them. He sacrificed the most pure of lambs, just like He said He would in the OT....
That's amazing.

so what you're saying is, those people who got the wrong idea of Christ and therefore theoritically spat on Christ, are damned to hell too? The world is not that black and white.

That's not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is that they're damned unless they repent.
And isn't that what the Bible teaches anyway? If you don't believe in God, you're going to Hell. Simple as that.

We're damned for whether or not we know God and accept His proposal He gave us at the Last Supper. IE: communion. On the night God was betrayed, He gave His disciples what was well known back then as a Jewish Proposal. Bsically, if they accepted the wine when He gave it to them, they were saying they'd spend forever with Him. And when God did that, He was basically saying He'd go out and get a home set for us to come into when the time was right.

We are not born into sin, And so you're saying that a murder, rapist, self-indulging, back stabbing, evil person can just say right before his death "Jesus is my Lord and Saviour" and they are saved? Just the religion I want to be apart of, where I strived to be Christ like but yet I'm among murderers and thieves.
