Samhain skulked through the trees, peering through the tree tops at the moon and not being particularly careful to hide her steps. She had woken again with the urge for some kind of adventure. When she woke in this mood, it often led her into trouble, but being the way she was, she hardly ever cared or mostly, it just made it more fun. She had a really awful mischievous streak in her that tended to make her slightly obnoxious. She slipped into a clearing silently but caught a movement out of the corner of her eye. She stopped dead and turned her head slowly in that direction, crouching low to the ground. Her ear twitched slightly, in anticipation. A moment later she pounced, coming up victorious with a rabbit struggling between her teeth. She brought it out into the clearing and set it down, letting it hop a few feet away before she snatched it up again, playing with her meal.

Akua was up in the evenings quite often, it was the best time to get his meals. He walked through the grass…spying a very tasty looking deer. Licking his lips, he ran at it, getting a great burst of speed as he tripped it, then coming in to finish it. After he finished his meal he walked off, licking his lips in triumph. Oh how he loved a full belly! He gazed up at the moon for a moment…frowning…oh how he wished he had wings…then he could fly…oh how wonderful it must be to fly! He grinned at the thought of it…feeling the wind in his fur…wonderful. He stopped however, hearing a nose as he crouched in the grass…his eyes watching as something came into view. A dark female, playing with her pretty. Hmm…maybe she could prove interesting…

Standing up, he approached her, grinning as he put his pawn down on the creature, pinning it to the ground. “Ever learn not to play with your food?” he said with a grin as he lifted his paw, keeping an eye on the female. “And what is someone like yourself doing out here alone? Hmm?” he questioned with a grin. He did quite enjoy messing with others…not quite sure why..

Samhain had been so distracted by her game with the rabbit that she was startled when the gold and white paw came down on her snack. She followed the spotted leg up to meet his golden eyes. She was slightly taken aback. It was not often that someone surprised her, she must be more tired than she expected. She dragged the Rabbit out from under his paw and snapped its neck with a loud crunch noise before answering. "I had heard that it was rude, but being by myself up until now, I didn't figure that it was a problem." She grinned slightly, thinking that even if she hadn't been alone, she wouldn't have worried that much about being rude. Examining the male with a speculative eye, she responded to his second question. "As for being alone, I am often alone. I woke looking for an adventure and it seems you have arrived."

His ears perked up when he finished off the rabbit, he was full so he wasn’t going to try and take it. Though normally he probably would, because it was more fun that way. But oh well, she would get to keep her rabbit. He chuckled at her comment as he grinned at her. “Oh but you just prologue it’s suffering when you do that. Making it feel scared, wishing for death. Isn’t it kinder to just finish it?” he said as he walked in a circle around her, enjoying feeling on top at the moment. “Well then try being around others more often. It could do you some good.” Though in truth he spent most of his time alone. Mostly because he enjoyed it, and others often got annoyed by his constant tricks and jokes. But that was just how he was. So sometimes he dropped a pinecone or porcupine on you from a tree. Big deal! Some people had no sense of humor!

Samhain smirked, "Well when you put it that way, I guess maybe I should just put the poor thing out of its misery more quickly." She looked around as he told her she should spend more time with others and smirked, "I don't see anybody else with you, maybe you should follow your own advice." She proceeded to eat her meal, avoiding the bones and ripping the meat off in mouth-fulls of deliciousness.

Akua laughed at her comment and shook his head. “Now now, I am not the one playing with my food now am I?” he said as he sat down, watching her for a moment as she ate before clearing his throat. “You don’t have very good manors now do you?” he said with a chuckle as he grinned at her. “It is considered polite to offer food to your guest when you eat yourself.” He said as his tail flicked back and fourth, ears perked up in interest. Quite the little punk he was at times. He himself didn’t always practice proper manors, but it didn’t stop him from bugging others about it.

Samhain snickered at his changin the subject but let it slip, she found him interesting. It wasn't often she found someone with a similar pushiness. She swallowed the bite in her mouth and stood, leaving her half eaten bunny on the ground. She turned and twitched her tail a moment before she pounced into a nearby bush. She came up grasping a struggling brown rabbit between her teeth. She shook it sharply and the rabbit went limp. She flopped down in her former spot and laid the newly killed rabbit between them. She grinned at him, "Would you like some rabbit?" she grinned and resumed eating. "What would you be doing way out here all on your own anyway?"

When she offered the rabid to him he turned his head from his. “No thank you. I already ate.” He said with a grin. “I never said I wanted one. Just that it was impolite to not offer and eat in front of another.” He said. The little brat! He heard her question as he leaped, vanishing into the tree branches above them. “I like being on my own. Others cause problems. So pushy and annoying they are. Can’t take a joke. So I find it easier to be on my own.” Though it wasn’t that they couldn’t take a joke, but that he didn’t know when to quit. “What about you darky? Hmm? Those markings on your face makes it look like you were crying. Haha always looking sad hmm?” he said with a laugh, his tail flickering as it hung from the branch.

She finished off her rabbit and began on the second one, "Well, either way, more for me." She snickered and nearly choked as he said others were pushy. She was called pushy so often that she had to force herself to not laugh. She grinned up at the tree, barely making out the shape of his form in the dark of the tree. "Actually, I hardly ever cry, it adds to my. . . Mystery I guess you could say." She finished off the rabbit and lept easily into the same tree as him, climbing her way up to the upper branches of the tree, knocking a few strongly smelling fruit from the tree onto his head. She laughed, hanging her tail and her head off the branch, peering down at him.

He watched her follow him up into the tree, frowning as she moved higher. Oh was she going to make this into a game? Fine then! He sat up, frowning when he got hit on the fruit as he glared at her. "Stupid woman!" he hissed as he climbed the tree, moving so that he was on the branch above her as he 'accidentally' kicked a pine cone on her. "Oops. My bad. I am such a klutz" he said with a sneer. And she probably knew very well that it wasn't an accident. He was just a little punk like that. "So does the crying dark one have a name?" he asked her as he lounged on the branch.

She laughed slightly as he lept above her. She examined the branch above him momentarily and decided it would be strong enough to hold her. She lept up to his branch and very ungracefully 'slipped' and landed a paw heavily on his head to 'keep from falling' and hoisted herself onto the branch above him. "Stupid am I?" she raised one brow at him, enjoying the game. "If you're going to call me stupid, freckled gold one, maybe I shouldn't tell you my name, just to keep you in suspense." she placed a lot of emphasis on the freckled gold part, mocking him a little bit. "Or maybe I'm generous enough to tell you that it's Samhain, or Sam if you're feeling brave." She smirked at him and lept to the next tree, just a few feet away.

"Yes I am!" he said with a frown. Oh so she was going higher again!? He would not have that. Climbing over her, he settled himself on the branch above her. He wanted her to know that HE was top cat. And looking up, he didn't think the branches above could hold her. At least he didn't think so. Just to be sure, he pressed on the branch above him...deciding it was fine as he jumped on it, to try and prevent her from getting higher. "I don't really care if you give me it or not. You are just a crying girl anyways." he said with a grin. "Odd name Sammy. Well I am Akua." he said with a grin. To him it was a much better name. His tail flicked as he watched her from above.

Sam lept up next to him carefully, intentionally bumping into him while examining the branches above him. They definitely wouldn't hold him, but maybe. . . if she could spread her weight, she was lighter than him. She cautiously lept higher into the tree, spanning her weight between three or four branches near to the trunk, managing to safely sit above him. She looked up, seeing the sky through the twig-size branches between her and the bare stars. She was enjoying his whole-'anything you can do I can do better' attitude, she suspected that it would get them both into trouble, and trouble, was always fun. "You, Akua, are trouble. I can tell. Trouble always seems to find me." she grinned in an almost wicked way, the moon behind her adding to the wicked illusion. "Not that I'm complaining, a little trouble makes life worth living." She looked past him, seeing just how high they were, slightly shifting her weight. The thought that hitting the ground from this height might actually hurt her crossed her mind right as three of the branches beneath her snapped suddenly, sending her crashing downwards, hopelessly trying to grab a couple of the larger branches on her tumble to the ground. She managed to slow her descent enough to make her fall non-lethal, but when she hit the ground, the world around her sank into darkness and she lay, knocked out on the ground.

Akua frowned when she moved higher...was she stupid!? "Hey! Dont you know it's dangerous to go up that far? You can get hurt! Get down or you will break your neck dummy!" he shouted at her. He ignored her trouble comment, still set on the fact that she was being stupid going that high. ”And I thought you females were suppose to be smart. You don’t seem very smart to me.” he said with a huff. Then it happened. He heard a cracking noise…”HEY! GET O-“ but he didn’t get to finish as the branches snapped, sending her falling. He leaped to his feet, and tried to grab her as she fell past him, but he had speed, not strength and with no fingers he couldn’t get a good grip as she tumbled to the ground. ”Aaah dammit! Stupid woman!” he shouted as he jumped from the tree, landing next to her as he sighed. Well she didn’t seem dead…just out of it. He shook his head. Stupid girl! Oh well. He looked around, but he didn’t have the strength to drag her without hurting her. So to make sure nothing attacked her, he lay down in the grass next to her, waiting for her to wake up.

Sam's eyes opened a crack, but closed immediately. The light was bright, was that moonlight? God. . . she slowly lifted a heavy paw over her face and rolled to one side. She started slightly as she ran into something warm and breathing? She lifted the paw from her face, opening one eye enough to focus on Akua. The tree fiasco snapped back to her very quickly. She groaned quietly, "Ugh. . . what happened? did I fall?" she slowly stretched, testing her muscles and her legs, trying to assess the damage. Her side felt bruised, but aside from that, she seemed to be mostly uninjured. She attempted to stand, slowly stretching herself to her feet. She flinched, laying back on the ground. "Wait, you waited for me to wake up?"
