I know I'm not the only one who loves the idea of free candy on Halloween...
so does anyone have candy they only eat BECAUSE it's Halloween???
or
what IS your favorite candy (or candies if more than one)??
heart I like milk chocolate anytime but enjoy Snicker bites on Halloween heart

I've always been partial to Turtles, but I'm cutting back on my candy intake because diabetes has been a really problem for my family. gonk
You know, if you don't eat sweet things for a long time, then anything sweet will be too sweet to eat? It's weird.

It's weird. Amen on that last part. I lived almost entirely off plain popcorn, bell peppers, and unsweetened green tea for three months and I still can't get used to the taste of sugar. Which is too bad, really - I used to love honey and now it makes my head ache.

I know most people hate this stuff, but I love that pumpkin-shaped candy corn!

Hmm, I've never tried candy corn. Well, Hallowe'en is coming up. Maybe I'll buy a small packet.
Oh, do cookies count? My mum makes cookies that she deep-fries. They're not that sweet, either. More cinammony. I don't know how to spell the name, but they're pronounced "shank-ill-ees." They're flipping delicious.

I've been careful about adding excess salt and since then have been more sensitive to seasoning as a group maybe that's why candy has a special connection this year - tasting it without being "used" to the extra stuff?

Huh, that's weird - I've cut back on salt, too, but I haven't noticed seasoning becoming more potent. In fact, we went out for Indian curry the other day and I simply could not get my food spicy enough, whereas before I could barely handle it mild.

Might take me a while to find it though, and I'll have to ask my mum first. I hope she won't mind. biggrin And the salt thing... my doctor told me that I needed to add salt to my food, to cure this problem in my gut. I think it had something to do with iodine in salt, so that I could absorb minerals or something. Oh, and I can totally sympathize with not getting your curry hot enough. gonk

Y'know, he's actually a really regular, teddy-bear-ish guy when he's got a beard and isn't wearing women's clothing. ;D Anyway, I can never get Indian or Thai food spicy enough, it seems. I used to eat at this Thai restaurant that rated their spicy foods on a scale of 1-5 stars, and I could barely handle the spiciness of a 2-star meal, but now it seems like 5-star is a little too bland.

Okay so the Worst Witch was beyond cheesy... am I the only one who felt like that at one time or another during her school days?
"that was a remarkable spell. If only we could remember how we did it. The kind of thing we'd tell our grandchildren."
"If I live to have any."
biggrin anyway - anyone dressing up IRL? I'm going shopping today for candy and costumes!!!

I'll probably doll out in Lolita to hand out candy. I'm not going out trick-or-treating, that's my sister's thing. Except this year. They usually go as a group - like last year, Silent Hill, the year before, Alice in Wonderland. whee heart Only this year they only just decided that dressing up as dictators (Stalin/Mussolini/Castro/etc) probably wouldn't be a good idea, and don't have time to think up a new idea. gonk
