Mama Mia! Rank: One Antagonist: Jack Pisano NPC Accompaniment: Yes Souls available: Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE (bold whichever it is at the end.)
Washington was the same as it usually was - decent weather, decent paced, quick politics - but lately, some horrible rumors have surfaced. Gossip magazines and online blogs are quick to catch on, and pizza eating has turned from being trendy treat to a 'mustn't do' virtually overnight.
Ashie was lucky today; she'd found an absolutely fantastic ice-cream store just across the street from the meeting place they'd appointed back in SHIBUSEN, and she was already on her third cone as she waited for the pair to arrive. She'd never met them before, but a cricket bat couldn't be hard to find, right? (Ashie conveniently forgot that the pair would be arriving in human form, the icecream being just a tad too distracting for logical thought.)
Sitting at a bench, she hummed quietly to herself as she licked the cone - mint chocolaty chip this time - and waited for the pair to arrive.

Heidi stopped at a news stand a block away from the ice cream store. The blond girl picked up one of the gossip magazines on display, flipping to the article that was displayed on the cover page. Handing a couple dollars to the clerk, then holding it up so that Dar could read it with her, they continued on.
"But...PIZZA?" Heidi said, still incredulous.
"Why not?" Dar replied. "Weird people out there," she said. "Besides, YOU wanted to pick up the mission, so quit being weirded out by it. That's going to make it a lot more difficult if you don't."
"Better not get blood on my skirt," Heidi muttered. Why she had worn it, was beyond Dar, but she had, and there was no helping it now. Dar figured it might not matter when and if she became a bat anyway.
As they reached the shop, Dar looked around.
"So where is this person we're supposed to be meeting?" She asked Heidi, looking around them, trying to spot their accompaniment.

Two of those faces looked familiar... The thought caused Ashie some puzzlement, before it finally clued in. "Oh!" Cone still in hand, the Death Scythe jumped to her feet, heading in the direction of the pair that (she hoped) she was supposed to be accompanying. "Hellooo! Are you two Daria and Heidi?"
Coming to a skidding stop before the two, Ashie hastily finished her cone in two bites before holding out her other hand. "I'm Ashie! We've never met, but I think I'm supposed to be taking you along for the mission. This is your first mission, right? It'll be super fun! Axie gave me a whooooooole lot of instructions, so things will go perfectly! So," blue eyes were almost brimming over with excitement as the girl continued to talk at a supremely fast pace, "you guys ready to go or what?"
"I know where we're supposed to go!" Without waiting for a response, the Death Scythe began to walk down the street, occasionally tossing in a skip or two as her enthusiasm bubbled over. All the information Axie had forced her to memorize stated that the pizza shop where the rumors had first originated from was just around the corner, and she just couldn't wait. Plus, she was hungry...

"Dar," she said, correcting Ashie, while Heidi just nodded and grinned. "Is it a good idea to eat before this?" Dar asked, wrinkling her nose a bit. She had had water on their way to DC, but hadn't been able to stomach much else.
The pipping hot pizza Heidi had brought to their apartment before they left for DC hadn't helped either...
She blinked, trying to concentrate on what Ashie was saying. This woman reminded her a bit of Heidi...but she seemed more annoying. Huh. 'Super fun?' Fantastic.
Sighing, she followed, jogging for a second to catch up. Heidi looked positively giddy. She already seemed to love Ashie.
"That's good you know where we're going," Heidi said. "Because I wasn't sure where to start! Right, Dar?"

"Okay, Dar it is!" Ashie's response was quick, and she giggled a bit before going on, "I don't know! I just did, though, so it should be okay!" The Death Scythe quite obviously used herself as a par, conveniently forgetting that for this pair, it would be their first mission. "Did you guys want something to eat?"
She looked as though she had more to say, but at that very moment, she rounded the corner and came to a stop. Up ahead was the back entrance of what looked and smelled like a pizza shop, with delivery bikes lined up to one side of the doorway, and a relatively tidy dumpster on the other. From within, one could hear sounds of cooking and movement, though it was possibly dimmer than it could've been - the pizza business had been hit hard by these rumors, apparently.
And in the middle of it all, stood a youthful man, struggling to load what appeared to be pizza into one of the delivery bikes.
"Looks like we've just found the pizza place!" The cheerful and over enthusiastic Ashie that was infamous around the school changed slightly, and though the happy smile and excited movements were still very much there, a keen observer would notice a watchfulness around the eyes that hinted towards the Death Scythe's potential. Her instincts were screaming, and within moments, they were proven correct.
The man turned at the sound of Ashie's voice, startlement causing him to lose control over one of the boxes, and the stack tipped over, spilling their contents onto the ground. Pizzas slipped out of their containers, revealing toppings that went far beyond people's usual bizarre tastes. The red of the pizza sauce seemed a little bit too vibrant for regular tomato, and even from a distance, the consistency of the crust looked.. strange. But perhaps the most shocking thing of all, was the pair of eyeballs that rolled off one of the pizzas, bouncing and jiggling as they went.
When those finally came to a stop mere inches away from Ashie's white sneakers, the Death Scythe looked over at the pair. "You guys ready?", she repeated her original question, though this time with much less cheerfulness than before.

Dar looked a little pale at the mention of food. She hadn't been too keen on picking up this particular mission, but Heidi had been insistent. When Dar asked why, she said that food shouldn't be tainted like that (although in Dar's mind, she had never pictured slender, pretty Heidi chowing down on a pizza).
"Uh, no thanks, I think we'll pass," Heidi responded for them, although it didn't seem to matter much, as the chipper staff member had already taken off down the street. They rounded the corner behind her and, slightly less observant, almost ran into her when she stopped.
"How do you kno-" Heidi started to ask, but stopped at the rest of the scene unfolded before her, and she watched the eyes rolled to a stop in front of them. "Oh, yeah," Heidi said, answering Ashie. She held out a slightly shaking hand and Dar, who's paleness reached down to her hand grabbed it.
The weapon looked at her partner, her dumb blond demeanor suddenly gone. "Let's waste this sicko," she said, shifting to her bat form.

"Awesome!" It appeared that Ashie's enthusiasm for everything extended even to death. Stepping back, the blue-eyed girl gave the pair a 'go-on' sort of look and a casual shrug. "Go ahead then! I'll be here just in case, but you guys should do great!"
Jack Pisano had begun to swear upon seeing his handiwork spread all over the dirty concrete. Dirty pizza... It was impossible to deliver pizza that had dirt on it! Mumbling something to that effect under his breath, then young man tossed the mess on the ground a dirty look, giving it a kick for good measure before turning to fully face the three who had just arrived. "Look what you made me do!" Jack's voice was nasal, and none too pleasant as he took one step, then another, towards the trio. "Now I'll have to start a new batch... and you guys can be it!"
Suddenly, the young man's speed began to increase as he neared. He disregarded Ashie with a glance and focused all his attention on the other two - they seemed more terrified, and therefore were much easier prey. A few meters away, he flicked his wrist, and the dull gleam of a switchblade could be seen. "Pepperoni this time, maybe..."
The Death Scythe looked on intently - Axie's instructions had been clear; she was not to interfere, but as Jack Pisano drew nearer and nearer, she couldn't resist a soft "Now! Attack now!"

Dar stepped forward a step, as Ashie encouraged them on.
Normally Heidi remained silent and serious when she was in her bat form, but this time, Dar heard her high pitched giggle.
"Hehehhe!" Heidi said. "A switchblade? Really?" Dar smiled in agreement, the butterflies suddenly settling in her stomach. She had been holding the weapon loosely in her hands, and as he ran towards them, she brought her other hand to the handle and choked up on it. Turning her feet, so that she was bracing herself for a swing, she waited.
Heidi had fallen silent, but as Ashie shouted behind them, the weapon encouraged her technician as well. "Yeah, now!" she cried.
With as much force as she could muster, Dar swung the titanum cricket bat, aiming it straight for Jack Pisano's face.

"Yay!" Ashie couldn't help it - a cheer escaped her self-imposed silence as the cricket bat connected solidly with bone.
Crunch.
Jack Pisano screamed, a high-pitched mewling sound due to the broken bones, and crumpled slowly to the ground. Apparently the hit had been true, for the murderer took one last breath and died.
Within seconds, the body dissappeared, to be replaced by a single, floating soul:

Dar pushed a strand of loose hair out of her face, as she held the bat on her shoulder after the swing had made contact.
"Wipe me off, wipe me ooffffff," Heidi hissed from her shoulder.
"Oh, right!" Dar said, laughing a little and pulled the red cloth out of her back pocket, the one Heidi had handed her on the trip here, and wiped her off. Heidi shifted back to her human form and stared for a moment before grabbing the soul floating in front of her and pocketing it.
"Awesoooome," she said, grinning.
"So...now what?" Dar said, looking at Ashie.

Ashie watched as Dar grabbed the sole, resisting - barely - the urge to poke it before it disappeared into the girl's pocket. "Now?" It appeared that all hints of Ashie's possible maturity had evaporated along with Jack Pisano's body, and the Death Scythe was now as scatterbrained as ever. "I think you're supposed to absorb that soul somehow... and then we can go eat!"

"Oh!" Heidi said, all of the silly, airheaded blond coming back. "Right! I, uh...knew that," she said, pulling it back out of her pocket. She stared at it for a minute then clapped her hands together, absorbing it as she did.
She opened them back up, and looked at both sides, for some reason deciding she needed to check and make sure there wasn't any residue soul left.
"Can we have pizza?" Heidi asked, after she had absorbed the soul.
"You're kidding, right?" Dar said.
