The myth of the Tsunami and the Sleeping Water God

It was a normal day in the land of Karusa. People were gathering fish from the ocean, that they're town lived next to, they grew plants, sold different things such as food, spices, and other things. But some were wondering about the strange weather that has been changing this whole time. One day it all started as a small drizzle of rain. None were very scared because this was normal for them. One thing that was not ordinary was that it lasted all day. Drizzles at this town only lasted for about 30 minutes. But this would not stop until the next day that the drizzle, turned into a downpour.

People could not gather fish. They could not harvest crops. They could not sell anything. For a full month this rain went on non-stop. Some people said that it was the gods being angry at them for killing so many fish. Others say it is just a normal rain that has lasted longer than it ever has, but it will stop soon. Both were correct. The rain was no work of the gods. This came naturally. But up above the Grey and black clouds, the gods were not amused by how many fish they had killed. “they have almost made extinct 5 different types of our creations of the sea! This must not go on!” yelled Kanu the god of life.
And at the same time that he yelled, thunder had rumbled down below them like a drummer hitting many drums at high speeds. “I understand this but what can we do? Are we just going to go down there and kill them ourselves? That would raise word about who and what we are!” A elder god named Kate said. Everything was silent.

The rain had stopped. Everyone was wondering “Is this over? Is the horrific rain that had gone on for a month over?” some believed it was a miracle. Others thought something was wrong. And this time, only they were right. “A tsunami...” Said Kreato the god of death. “what?” the elder kate god said back. “A tsunami! One that is big enough to make the ocean thats next to the town larger so that the fish would still be able to live!”
“I suppose that would work... very well. Water god! Make the largest Tsunami you can to engulf the town below!”

And so the water god Garu did. He started to chant and then the water below started to toss and turn and make large waves. Everyone knew what was going on at this point. One child ran down to the beach. Everyone was waiting to see what he said. He started to run back screaming out: “TSUNAMI!!! TSUNAMI!!!! ITS A TSUNAMI!!!!”

Everyone's eyes became wide and started to run. Some hid in caves. Some went to the highest place they could get to. But neither would work. The gods above were starting to worry. The wave was becoming to large.
“Water god!” yelled the elder god Kate. “Stop your chant! The wave is becoming to large!” but before the water god noticed it, the wave went all the way over them and engulfed the gods. They were taken down to the bottom of the ocean and were never seen by the other gods again. Some say that the waves is the water god breathing in and out while he sleeps. And when he awakes, a giant Tsunami shows up somewhere and destroys a city with the water god Garu thinking it is the town from before that the elder god Kate told him to destroy. And from that point forward, he remains sleeping at the bottom of the ocean, not knowing he already destroyed his target. Not knowing that he is causing more destruction that he was told to.
