I spent all four years of my high school career in an Army
JROTC battalion. I graduated as a c/Captain. I took part in
almost all the activities within the program at some point
in time or another, but I have to say that drill team, trick
[a.k.a. exhibition] drill, and LEAD [Leadership Education
Aptitude Drill] were my favourites.
Here's me in my pickle suit, if you're curious: click.

Drill team all the way! HOOAH!!!!!

Exhibition is awesome, but so hard to learn! We mainly focus on reg where I'm at, but we're working on an exhibition.

WaterKrystal: Hooah, indeed. xD But I miss drill team. gonk And exhibition
is hard at first, but once you pick up the basics, the rest kinda falls into place.
For the longest time, nobody wanted to teach me because I'm a female.
Eventually one of my friends [who is also a girl] and I competed in
exhibition events in a drill comp. It was a foreign concept to most people. :']

The Angel Belial: Thanks. :] It's mine, actually. Every year we had a "best
drill cadet" competition, and I won that year. We were pretty poor too, but
we have this group of people's parents that go and fundraise and then we
can buy stuff. xD When my friends and I got Captain, we all took new last
names. I was Captain Obvious. Or c/CPT Obvious. I actually signed
something like that once. xD

OMG i wish we had sabers. But unfortunately due to our budgets cuts its difficult to get them. Maybe by next year we might have them biggrin

My NJROTC was dirt poor and struggled to even get a bus to go to a competition 30 miles away... But we did have sabers, i guess they used to have money long ago. We don't have a saber team so we just kinda keep inventory on them. We don't even hand them out to officers, there's only about 7 sabers anyway.

I hear my NJROTC isn't doing so well this year. Which is kind of proof that all the motivation was in my 4 years and not the others. I also believes it heralds a new generational gap. It went from 90's children to "turn of the century kids"
obvious differences are where my generation was spontaneous and peppy, this generation seems to be jaded and emo, unmotivated or lazy, or simply uninvolved. (this is a generalization and does not apply to any one person or area in particular.)

I'm starting to feel old when i ask these kids "Remember VR troopers? Remember Big Bad Beetle Borgs? Remember the original Power Rangers?" and they have no idea what i'm talking about...
some of the don't even remember Steve from Blues Clues!

(by the way, if you want to check out what he's up to now, it's here. You'd care if you remember!)
