Why is going green important you may ask? Why should we help this planet?
Well first of all its your planet. Earth looks like more of a dump than a planet. We have done many things to make it this way. It is our responsibility to make it right. We are the biggest disaster of this planet. Slowly we are ruining it and if we don't act fast it will be too late to help it. But if we help it now we can change it for the better and earth will not be junk. If we do something it could be a beautiful planet worth living on like it once was.
Instead of helping the planet we waste money on silly things like war.
We should be making peace not war. The cost of one nuclear weapons test alone could finance the installation of eighty thousand hand pumps, giving third world village’s access to clean water. War also creates more pollution. When the nuclear bombs were dropped on two cities in Japan it released a new pollution called radiation. Some armies use weapons made of poisonous metal called depleted uranium. It is important we stop this because you’re not only hurting yourself but the environment to.
Cars are one of the biggest pollution creators. What happened to walking,
taking the bus or even your bike? Vehicle exhaust contributes roughly 60% of all carbon monoxide emissions nationwide, and up to 95% in cities. Cars also cause a problem with health because if too much vehicle exhaust is created you could breathe it in and it’s poisonous to your lungs. Hydrocarbon is the fuel that doesn't get totally burned up when you drive a gas powered car and it’s a big component in smog. This all can be very dangerous to our health.
We are also hurting our world’s water. We are polluting it killing many animals.
Each year, plastic waste in water and coastal areas kills up to 100,000 marine mammals, 1 million sea birds, and countless fish. All this pollution in the water is our fault. Around 80% of the pollution in seas and oceans comes from land-based activities. It comes back to us to because this pollution hurts us. Pollution of freshwater (drinking water) is a problem for about half of the world's population. Each year there are about 250 million cases of water-related diseases, with roughly 5 to 10 million deaths. It is very important we clean the water because water pollution is hurting a lot of things.
In, conclusion we need to do something to help the earth.
It is important because we hurt the planet we have done the most damage to it. We have invented many things to ruin the earth. The world’s resources are being wasted because of us. We owe it to the earth to make it better. To make it what it once was. If we just to better care of our planet it would have never been this way. But now that it is this way we need to change it. That is why it is important to help our planet. Don't let earth become junk help save it.
