Arashi stood at the entrance to the basement, looking at the two foxes at her feet. She looked at her first vixen, concerned: "Teles...you sure you want to do this? Ariston will worry...and what about Nerine and your little boy?"

The look Teles gave her caretaker was unmistakable: this was a challenge. But she snorted. "Someone has to make sure the Harpy and Betrayer spawn doesn't get mutilated."

Selkahr snarled at that. She was going for her own reasons. Her tail twitched eagerly, her eerie royal purple eyes brightening. As with Teles, the Challenge this presented was there. She would not, could not fail. She turned, wordless, and unfurled her wings, gliding down the stairs into the basement.

Teles sighed. "Just...take care of Nerine for me. And Kallos. ...my whole family." At the nod from the human, she turned and bounded down the stairs, paws whispering quietly against the wooden planks before she landed next to Selkahr. "...which way will you take?

"The darkness, of course." The Harpie snorted, turning to head down the dark tunnel.

Teles sighed, looking at the lightened path. Sometimes, it was the brighter path that held more danger. Eyes lighting up, she strode confidently forwards, tail sashaying behind her every step.

Selkahr- The challenge is well underway and you are just beginning. You take the dark path and each stride brings you further in until you hit the fork. The right path has a scent of cinnamon wafting from it while the left path smells of earth and old graves.

#- Go right.
#- Go left.

Teles- You are sure that the ghouls inside will be confident and intuitive enough to hide in the light. As you descend you notice it gets brighter as you go. In too little time you reach a impediment to your way. There are three ways to go. You think of your family as you wonder which way to take.

#- Go right.
#- Go left.
#- Go forward.

Selkahr sniffed the air, wandering first closer to one path, then over to the other before pausing in the middle once more. Cinnamon. It was bright and spicy...and would have attracted her if the scent of dusty graves hadn't caught her attention more. There was bound to be something down there. Eyes alight, she crept down the left path, cautious enough to make sure she was quiet.

Teles sighed. Of course she would have a choice. But not just one. Three. Three directions to take, three ways of getting lost. She cocked her ears, listening intently down each of the paths she could take. Her ears twitched and swiveled a little; and finally, she decided to keep going straight for the moment, wondering if she was hearing things..or whether there might have been something down this tunnel.

Selkahr- The left path doesn't take you far before you have to choose. Continue on your merry way to the left or try the offshoot to the right?

#- Go right.
#- Go left.

Teles- You pass the tapestry strew walls of the forward hall. A chest is at the end of it.

#- Investigate. [Randomize 1-12]
#- Ignore it and turn back.
#- Order some large fries.

Selkahr decided to continue following her nose, choosing the left path and traveling quickly - but lightly - upon her paws. She didn't make a sound, and held her wings close to her body, her eyes able to scope out the dark cave system with little difficulty.

Teles paused, her eyes taking in the room, searching for any other foxes or other such creatures that might have been lying in wait. Finding done but an intriguing-looking chest, she slowly padded towards it and carefully opened the lid, bracing herself for any traps or tricks.

Selkahr- You are stopped admist your path.
"Well hello there, sunshine. Still livin?" He smiles gruesomely contrasting his bored tone. "I am in need... of entertainment of a sorts. You see boredom has stuck and allotted me a moment away from my lair. No need to understand, dear. You're lovely, I assure you, but not so much as to dull any blade raised against you." The demon bares his fangs in a savage frown as he raises his paw, chanting in ancient and oblique forms.

"Goodbye." He says as his face resumes it's gloomy stoticism. Blackness overtakes your vision as you speedily get weaker. Your knees buckle and you fall to the ground, gasping in pain.

@Information- Selkahr is elminated.

Teles- You pull nothing out of the chest sadly. Turning around you have two paths to take that don't lead you back to the staircase. To the left is a darkened path while the light emanates from your left. A feeling of loss overcomes you for a moment and it is gone as soon as it came.

#- Take a step to the light and follow it.
#- Go right and see whats there.

Selkahr hissed, baring her fangs and scraping her sharp talons against the cavern floor. She could admit awe and reverence for the powerful demon before her...but he threatened her! He started chanting, and suddenly she felt her bones turn to weak jelly. With a faint snarl, she tried leaping towards him, fangs bared and talons ready, but she hardly had the strength for a small leap...and crumped to the ground with a faint, wheezing growl, body convulsing in pain.

'...stop...'

Teles sighed, setting the lid back down in mild disappointment, but soon shrugged it off. Of course there wouldn't be treasures to take back to her son and daughter around every corner. Straightening, she trotted back down the hall, looking left and right before deciding to take the path closer to the light. The smell of cinnamon was lovely, and so she decided, at least, she could try and find the source.

Teles- User ImageTaking the path to the light you have a choice until something impedes you. A holy creature sits in front of you.

"Oh hello my dear. You seem to be quite lonely here. As a absolution for a grievance cause by my black-haired cohort, I simply hope you'll accept an invitation for tea and cinnamon buns in my flat?" She said in a melodic voice that rang with divine power in a subtle way. "It'd be absolutely heavenly if you can acquiesce to my request."

#- Tea sounds lovely and those cinnamon buns smell better than anything ever.
#- Enjoy a righteous smiting.

Teles blinked at the sudden appearance of a beautiful winged female. She stopped and blinked, tail swishing back and forth as she considered the offer. Well...it wouldn't hurt, would it? Besides, she could take care of herself if things turned nasty. ...but what did she mean? She hadn't seen anybody else.

...unless the harpy-baby had wound up in a tight spot. That...was an amusing thought.

"Tea and cinnamon buns would be lovely... Though I must ask, what did you mean about your 'black-haired cohort'? I must admit I have not seen or scented anything. Unless you mean something has befallen the other fox that entered the maze..?"

Teles- User Image Before answering the lovely female sets up the tea party and pulls out a plate of freshly iced cinnamon buns. She sat herself at the table and motioned for Teles to follow along.
"Well my demonic friend of sorts seems to have taken your partner into his clutches. I'm not entirely sure about her fate but she's either out of the maze or unconscious in his treasure room. He can get quite attached to people he attacks." The angel shrugged. "Either way she will be fine." She paused a moment and sipped her tea. "Oh Dear! How rude it is of me not to introduce myself! I'm the angel of this maze and a representative of All Saint's Day. I don't really have a name so call me angel unless you feel like coming up with one for me. You are?"

Teles sighed and shook her head. "Well..she's the offspring of the Betrayer and a Harpy...she'll be able to fend for herself, regardless. ...personally, I do not pity her."

But it definitely felt strange to be sitting with a cup of tea and plate of cinnamon buns. Teles slowly took one and graciously murmured her thanks, for once quite subdued. "My name is Teles, Angel. It suits you...and the cinnamon buns are lovely."

She twitched her tail and bit into the warm, soft pastry. Certainly was delicious. "...this is your maze, Angel...but do you ever get lonely? If you don't wish to answer, that is fine. ..do you have any questions for me? This is your domain, after all."
