Mimi stood at the starting point, shuddering. She was secretly regretting having agreed to go on this adventure with her "aunt" Jacqueline, but she couldn't turn back anymore. "I-if it's okay with you, Auntie Jackie, I'll.. t-take the s-stairs.." she said, trying to keep her voice even. "I mean, y-you like the dark, don't you?" And so, with an unsure smile, she descended down the stairs.
Jackie huffed, obviously full of energy. She'd been waiting for an opportunity like this for quite a while. It was exactly as Mimi said - Jackie sure didn't mind the darkness. In fact, it had always intrigued her. As she made sure Mimi wasn't going to run away, she turned to the path on the right, walking into the darkness.

Mimi- You take the stairs and go the long flowing way down. The air somehow becomes scented of cinnamon as you reach a separation point in the road. There are three ways to go but only one of you. You can head left to more light and the stronger scent of cinnamon/cinnabuns, you can head right to a dark hall, or forward to a partially lit hall with a tapestry on the wall.
#- Go right. #- Go left. #- Go forward.
Jackie- You take the darker path and follow it to it's end at an intersection. You can go to the lighter hallway to the right or the darker one to the left.
#- Go right. #- Go left.

Mimi sniffed the air, surprised. "Is that.. cinnamon?" she thought out loud. That route, to her, seemed the safest to take. The scent calmed her, and so she took the left turn, her tail swaying in a carefree manner. This didn't seem so bad after all!
Jackie grinned as she looked at her choices, her next move quite obvious to her. "Hooo boy, this is gonna be so much fun!" she said to herself as she took the left path, which led her further into the dark depths of the maze. "I hope Mimi hasn't chickened out.."

Mimi- Going left leads you to another break in one-way travels. The right is brighter and where the cinnamon is obviously coming from. The left gets dimmer as it goes and has no smell emanating from it.
#- Go right. #- Go left.
Jackie- Another decision needs to be made. You come across an offshoot of your path that lead right and to a seemingly dead end.
#- Go right. #- Continue forward. #- Do a little dance, get down tonight. #- Grow a beard.

"Mm.." Mimi sniffed again, noting that the scent was coming from her right. "Is someone baking or something?" she wondered as she took the right turn, her curiosity getting the best of her.
Jackie stopped to ponder for a moment. What to do? Continue forward or check out the nook that seemed to lead nowhere? Then again, there might be something interesting in that small pathway. She came to look for adventure, and possible treasure, and so the female went right. "I can always go back and continue if there's nothing here.." she thought.

Mimi- As you travel down the right path, the smell of cinnamon grows stronger, but soon you come to a fork in the road. Ahead of you is a short path, with an odd pile of musty cloth, and to your right, the light appears to get brighter...which path do you take?
#- Let's investigate the pile of cloth! Could be an artifact down here! [Randomize 1 - 12] #- Just keep following the cinnamon! ...is someone baking?
Jackie- You take only a handful of steps before you bump nose-first into a cement wall! Ouch, that must have hurt. If you look close enough, you spot a crack with a sprinkling of light in the cement, big enough to fit your paw in. Otherwise, you can just turn around and continue on down the dark path.
#- No blasted wall is gonna get the best of you! Stick your paw into the crack fearlessly and see if you can pull something out. [Randomize 1 - 12] #- Curse and moan over your poor bumped nose. #- Kick the wall - OUCH! - and turn to stomp back the way you came and continue on.
[Note: If you decide to have your foxes randomize twice, just roll two 12-sided dice.]

Mimi stopped then. The offset didn't seem too dark.. and even though that pile of cloth did seem a bit icky, who knows what might be hidden underneath it.. She bit her lip, as she'd started growing hungry as well while following the delicious scent. Such a tough decision! But surely... searching through that pile couldn't take that long? She was still young and curious, after all, and since it didn't seem dangerous per se, she decided to investigate, stepping closer to the pile.
"OUCH!" Jackie yowled, rubbing her muzzle for a moment. So the corridor was even shorter than she'd thought.. 'That's what you get for walking in the dark. Can't even judge distances', she thought. Once the pain subsided and she stopped seeing stars, she could make out a faint glow in the wall. "Hmm..? What's this?" she pondered, investigating the crack. Apparently it was just big enough for her paw to fit in it.. Maybe there was treasure inside? Or something else that she could find useful. The female stuck her paw inside, feeling around.

Mimi- The cloth you've stuck your appendage into is really rather large. Nearly anything could be in it. As you search around and overturn cloth, you feel a bit of fur just escape your fingertips, and the cloth pile seemed to move.
#- Keep searching. [Randomize 1-5] #- Pull your paw out and run back- whatever it is could bite you!Jackie- Your search pulls immideate results, and something comes tumbling out of the crack. You wouldn't have thought such a thing could fit there, but there it was. It was nearly a whole ceramic bowl, but part of the side was slightly chipped. You take it and return to the intersection, this time with only one way to go.
#- Forward we go.

Mimi shuddered. "This is so gross.." she thought. But then again, she'd already started searching, and there was obviously something in there... so why stop now? The female stuck her paw inside the pile of cloth again, turning and tossing damp pieces around. "There better be something good in here..." she muttered under her breath.
Jackie's face beamed. Sure, it was just a bowl, but who knows, it might prove valuable or otherwise useful later on. At least nothing bit her when she stuck her paw into that hole! "Hmm.. I wonder how Mimi's doing? I hope that little scaredy-cat hasn't run back home already!" she thought as she continued on along the dark path.

Mimi- POOF! Its distinctly red feeling here, and you've been deposited from a cloud of smoke onto the ground. Its uncomfortably warm and exceedingly dark. You appear to be at an intersection. Behind you is a long path forking off extensively. To your right is a dead end, and the left a hall that us not discernible in the dark.
#- Go behind. #- Go right. #- Go left.
Jackie- You walk for some time before anything catches your eye. It happens to be another rightward hallway that leads to what looks to be a dead end. Its been the same temperature here for a while, and while dark its has adequate lighting.
#- Investigate right. #- Continue forward.

Mimi blinked a few times, clearly disoriented. What had just happened? She spun around a couple times, looking around in the dark, trying to see where to go next. She had no idea how she'd got there, but she knew she'd have to continue on, but which way? There seemed to be another dead end to her right, maybe there was something in there? She walked in, her steps somewhat unsure. The heat felt really uncomfortable and she wanted to get out soon, but she wanted to show her family that she could get something out of this maze.
Jackie looked at the new path to her right, then glanced onward, flicking her ears back a few times as she pondered her options. She'd had pretty good luck with the previous dead end.. maybe this was her lucky day, and she should test her luck again? This offset of the path seemed so much brighter than the path she'd walked along for quite a while.. there must be a reason for the light, right? She would continue on after investigating this new dead end.
