Zoey flicked her tail, staring at the basement door with idle curiosity. She couldn't help it. That little piece of her was begging for more adventure, regardless of the fact she nearly died many times in the past dealing with the living dead before.

"So what's down there?"

Isaac glanced over as he took the locks off the door to take care of current issues and help in protecting his mate and daughter.

"Your worst nightmare." He muttered, heading down and pulling out his plasma cutter to be ready. The younger femme shrugged and followed after him, re-loading her pistol in the process.

The two never suspected that the poker room would be more or less empty and that a new door was now standing wide open across the basement, just beyond the poker table...

Zoey and Isaac- You arrive in the empty basement, surprised at it's emptiness. The glowing portal on one wall seems to grab your attention from admiring the basement longer. Suddenly a head pokes out of it. Blood vessels show throughout and he's obviously not truely alive. The rest of him emerges in his undead glory.
"Well hi. I'm here to--" He waves with blood flying everywhere and then pauses, his eyes widening. "HOLY CARP. You guys are two of the warning posters in the break room!"
He slips back into the portal from whence he came.

#- Follow that zombie through the portal.
#- Leave him alone for now.
#- Go in guns a blazing and show no mercy.

The two pointed their weapons, ready to fire if the zombified noodle came any closer to him. Upon his sudden retreat, Zoey raised an eyebrow and glanced over at Isaac who was already up and following after the zombie.

"Hey wait! Don't fire! He didn't seem like he wanted to harm us!" She called out, dashing after him through the portal and managing to stop him before he fired. "...where are we?" she then asked, looking around the new surroundings.

"I don't know, and I don't care. My Jane and Quinn are in here and I'm going to find them." He muttered, keeping his weapon ready.

Zoey and Isaac- Where are you, indeed? The zombie had left a bloody trail leading directly to the darker route. If you had followed you come to a fork in the road where the trail disappears. To the right is brighter, warmer territory and to the left it is colder still and dim enough to break ominous shadows in any given corner.

#- Go right.
#- Go left.
#- Actually tell use where you went~ |D

((Isaac: *doesn't FEEL like telling anything = 3=~!*
j/kj/k))

Isaac looked up from the bloody trail to the split path ahead of them. In a different time he might have gone down the lighter path, but after dealing with what he's seen the darker one would feel more like home.

"Well the bloody tail just sort of...ends here. Ya know?" The femme behind him spoke up. "Almost as if he disappeared into thin air here." She told him, looking between the two paths.

"Things here are more likely to go to the left. Easier to hide and get at whoever passes by." Zoey snorted at his comment. He may have seen different, but he hadn't gone through what she did.

"Yeah, and being in the dark with your weaponry and the glow in your suit is really going to help us." She muttered, turning and heading down the lighter path herself. The male watched her go before shaking his head and going the darker route. If his family was anywhere, he'd find them.

Zoey- You choose to leave your tell-tale-glowy partner to his darkened routes, and the smell of cinnamon buns starts to waft around you. Man...these guys can't be too bad if they know how to bake, huh? The path gets increasingly brighter and soon you come upon your set of choices: to your immediate left there's a small alcove with a sparkly yellow crystal set upon a silver pedestal; farther along to the right, the path immediately plunges into darkness and there's the familiar smell of mold and gravesoil; straight forwards it continues to grow brighter...and it seems as though the cinnamon scent is coming from somewhere that direction; or to your right...there's what looks to be a fairly wobbly wall, with some little pieces of dust drifting down from the ceiling, as though it had been recently disturbed.

#- Ouuu, shiny crystals are pretty! Go see if you can take it.
#- Head into the darkness, pistols ready. No zombie will catch you by surprise.
#- Go forwards, unresisting to the lure of the yummy cinnamon scent.
#- Head towards the wall and give it a good, swift punch. Maybe it'll give way. [Randomize 1 -12]

Isaac- You choose the darker path, and the faint glow from your armor gives you a faint smattering of light to ward off total blindness. Soon you come upon your first choice on your solo-route. Veer to the right, or continue forwards and around the corner further ahead.

#- Choose the immediate right.
#- Continue forwards and go - cautiously - around the corner.

Zoey raised an eyebrow at everything before her. Laughing and shaking her head she took it all in, thinking about each choice she possibly had. Each was a carefully laid trap somehow.

"I've seen this movie. C'mon even if it isn't a horror, it's a classic." She said out loud to no one in particular as she eyed the crystal. The smell of the cinnamon buns reminded her of home and her mother's baking. Chances are they somehow knew this and were further attempting to lead her into a trap. The dark path didn't look, or smell for that matter, too wonderful, and the wall looked just as bad.

Hell she half expected a Tank or a Boomer to burst out of the wall like they were prone to doing. Shrugging, she ran up to the wall and slammed into it as hard as she could, mentally screaming "OH YEAH!" in hopes of busting through it to nothing but a kid and some kool-aid on the other side.

---

Isaac paused for a moment, glancing around and listening for movement. He was no stranger to things hiding in the dark and waiting to try and eat him. His trustworthiness of the area only continued to drop when no sound greeted his ears except his own breathing and the soft hum coming from the plasma cutter in his grip.

Looking ahead, he noted the corner and proceeded toward it. It didn't take long before he launched himself around the corner, weapon at the ready to fire at the first thing that moved.

Zoey- The wall shivers, and you're sore from hitting solid stone. Nice going. Theres a second tremor and something drops from the roof, landing on your head and then tipping off onto the earth. You turn and see a bowl shard. Its black and looks to have skulls on it. Just like pills, you pocket this treasure immediately. You turn back to the intersection.

#- Go forward to the path that was to the right before.
#- Go left and down the brighter hall that was forward before.

Isaac- The corner knows more about you than you think it does and, as you pass, it hisses quietly. You continue down the dark to a fork in the road. The right leads to what appears to be a dead end, and forward leading further on.

#- Continue forward.
#- Go right.

Zoey groaned, falling back and rubbing her shoulder. "Damn...should have expected that though...stupid me." She muttered, and turned when she heard a clatter behind her. "Wha--what's this?" She asked herself, picking up the shard and looking it over carefully. Smiling to herself and stuffing it away for later.

She looked up at her choices again, the sweet smell returning to her senses. "Mmm...treasures on pedestals only lead to traps." She muttered, glancing up both paths and just deciding to continue forward anyway, regardless of what lies ahead.

---

Frowning to himself and lowering his weapon again, Isaac carefully took in his choices. There was a lot going on whether he knew it or not and that only made him more cautious about his surroundings. "Well...that path leads nowhere..." he stated to no one in particular and boldly proceeded forward.
