Tzivia and Mightyena were very excited after hearing I'd be taking them to a maze. I don't even remember where I'd heard the news from, but this maze was happening right in the Lucky Noodle's basement! Very convenient for me, and they really did need some fun.

We arrived, and I took a comfy seat in the shop. "Go have a ton of fun, you guys! Meet me back here once you've completed the maze, okay?"

They barreled off towards the basement so happily, I knew I'd made a good decision in coming here.

"This is gonna be great!" yelled Tzivia, barely able to keep her voice down enough so it wouldn't echo in the hallway.

"Yep! We get to explore a spooky basement, how awesome is that?" replied Mightyena, with a slightly creepy smile plastered on his face.

"You don't really think it'll be all that spooky, do you?" asked Tzivia, hesitantly. "You know I get scared easily..."

"Oh, don't worry, you big 'fraidy-cat, it'll all be fake."

By that time, the pair had reached a room with two different stairways they could use to continue their journey.

"Oh look! This one's really well-lit. It can't be so scary!" beamed Tzivia. "C'mon, let's go!"

"No way, I'm going into the darkness!" Mightyena said with certainty. "But you can go into the light. We don't HAVE to stick together, y'know."

Tzivia looked a little sick at the thought, but she knew she would NOT step foot into that black stairway! "Well... alright... see you at the end, I guess!"

And with that, both Noodles headed off towards their destinations: Mightyena to the dark stairway; Tzivia to the light one.

Tzivia

She didn't really want to go through this maze by herself, but it was her only option. Somehow, she hadn't thought of the fact that a maze in a basement probably would be kind of dark and scary! The thought of going off along a path with no light made her shudder. The more light, the better!

Soon, the Noodle came across an intersection, with three roads she could go down. One of them seemed to be a bit brighter than the others... the one on the left. Yes, that's where she should go! Mazes can definitely be enjoyable with lots of light.

Mightyena

It's funny how the brain assumes things. He'd thought, since Tzivia had taken a stairway, this dark path would be a stairway as well. Nope! It was just a corridor, not that it made much of a difference. And when he came to a place where he could go in one of two directions, he did not hesitate to travel down the darker one.

"Heh, I bet that light comes from the place Tzivia went to..." he thought.

Tzivia

Tzivia had started humming a cheery tune to herself. If she had to be all alone, why not? It made her feel much better, and helped to tune out the random sounds that were completely normal, but seemed creepy due to the current situation.

"Oooh, it's even BRIGHTER if I take the right path!" Tzivia mused. Her pace picked up, as did the speed of her hummed song, as she went towards the light yet again.

Mightyena

It was a little hard to see in the darkness, but Mightyena couldn't miss the fact that going to the right meant a really short path. His other option was to go around a corner.

Hmm, I definitely want to go around the corner... but this way is so short, I might as well check it out first and then double back.

Tzivia

The tune she'd been humming faded out as she arrived at a dead end. She thought she saw something out of the corner of her eye, but it could have been nothing at all. However, it would bug her if she didn't check it out.

Please don't be something scary! she thought, worried.

Mightyena

At first glance, it was just a dead end. But, upon further inspection, there seemed to be a crack in the wall. A crack that was possibly large enough to hide something in!

"Well well... maybe whoever put this maze together also hid some goodies for us to find!" Pleased with that thought, he stuck in his paw to check if he was right.

Tzivia

Oh thank goodness! Nothing was hiding in the dead end. Unless... was there something underneath that cloth? It WAS kind of lumpy. Taking a deep breath, Tzivia lifted a corner of the fabric and turned away for the first few seconds, as if that could protect her from anything unpleasant that could come out from underneath.

Mightyena

"Sweet, this could be, like... an ancient relic! Or maybe the maze-maker also hid puzzle pieces!"

It had become a game of hide-and-seek now, and Mightyena was determined to win! Every nook and cranny he came across, he'd search to see if he could find anything else. Starting with the next short path he came to, off to his right...

Tzivia

"Aah!"
Something sprung out and shocked the buhjeezus out of Tzivia. She couldn't tell what it was, but oddly it didn't seem to frighten her after the initial shock. She nervously licked herself for a moment to calm herself down, and then continued towards the light.

Mightyena

It took a whole for Mightyena to stop making silly faces at himself before realizing there was indeed another little present left behind for him to find! It was a little box. How sweet! Too bad he was going to rip it to shreds and see if there was anything inside...

Tzivia

Tzivia finally saw what it was that had shocked her - it was an adorable little dragon! How cuuute! She felt a little bit silly for getting so frightened. She was so calm, in fact, that the black widow spider which would normally have startled her didn't seem so bad. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone, she remembered. So that's what she did - just watched it go along its way. Heck, maybe it would lead her out of the maze!

Mightyena

Ooh, a torch! This could be fun to play with later... but for now, there was a mirror calling to him to make more funny faces in it. razz
