Jane and Quinn stood back to back in the basement, ears perked for any noise from the normal residents of the dreaded lower level of the Lucky Noodle.
Quinn had her plasma cutter in a death grip as she slowly turned with her mother swinging their head lamps around.
Jane hefted her sword and said quietly. "All clear. Now...which path?"
Quinn glanced over keeping an eye on the surroundings. "I don't really like either...but if we have to pick one...the stairs?"
Jane glanced over at the path on the right that seemed to lead nowhere. "But we're better equipped to be in the dark. We've got lamps and night vision. Besides the stairs are narrow and could cause problems if we have to fight."
Quinn nodded having to agree with her mother. "Alright. We'll do that then..." Quinn said swallowing hard and tightening her grip on her cutter if it was possible for her to hold it any tighter.
Jane moved towards the entrance. "Night vision on, lamps off. Don't want to alert anything and the sword will give off enough light."
Quinn nodded and did as she was told before following her mother into the darkness on the right side of the basement.

Jane and Quinn- You both head into the darkness expecting it to stay that way. But once you reach the first intersection in your way it changes a bit. The path to the left keeps in the still dark while to your right the path gradually gets brighter.

Jane peered down both intersections checking her radar for any signs of movement while Quinn watched their back.
"Both clear." Jane said coming back to her daughter. "So which do you think?"
Quinn fidgeted. "Well like you said...we're equipped for the dark. So lets stick to it."
Jane glanced over at her daughter. "Sure you'll be okay."
Quinn nodded. "Lets go."
Jane took a moment to pat her on the shoulder before plowing into the darkness followed closely by Quinn.

Jane and Quinn- With your enhanced vision in low-light situations, after a tad bit of walking from the last split off you notice a hall leading out from your trail to the right. You can go here or continue on your way left and around the corner.

Quinn pat Jane on the shoulder and gestured towards the hall.
Jane nodded and slid forward peering down it checking her motion tracker. She looked back and Quinn and shrugged.
"What turns have we taken?" asked Quinn quietly feeling too exposed at this juncture.
"A right and a left."
Quinn considered. Logically if they took the right they would be going back towards the direction they'd already come while taking the left would advance them deeper into the maze. She pulled up a very rough map her mapping software had been drawing for her and considered. "I say we go left again."
Jane nodded. "Sounds good to me." she started to move off around the corner but paused a moment to toss a flash-bang grenade down the hall on the right. "Just in case." she said before darting around the corner with Quinn to avoid the ensuing flash of light.

Jane and Quinn- A croak sounds from the left as the grenade goes off and you make your merry way down the left path. It curves northward and heads for an odd intersection. Here taking a right will lead you to a cinnabun scent. The left has a cold breeze while ahead seems to draw you in....
#- Go right. #- Go left. #- Go forward.

The pair stopped and looked around.
Jane moved off to check the intersections while Quinn was supposed to watch their backs.
Quinn stared ahead at the forward fork of the intersection. She wasn't sure how or why but one moment she was standing listening to Jane check the other sections and the next she found herself rushing down the forward corridor unable to stop herself.
Jane turned from the right corridor. "All..." she looked around for Quinn. "Quinn?" she called out. "Quinney?" Jane looked between the two intersections she was now facing unsure which her daughter had gone down. Panic rose from within her and without really thinking she charged down the left path. "Quinn!"

Jane- It seems the forced have conspired to seperate you and won. Going down the left path leads you to no sign of your daughter, but who knows? She may be further ahead. As you continue it stays at a steadily cool temparture and the smell of freshly rained upon earth and gardens grows stronger as does a hint of blood in the air. You pass a few skulls along the way until you come to a Y in the road.
The right seems to turn back around as far as you can tell with y'know your fancy mapping software. I hope you get a virus. The left continues forward and you can see vines growing on the walls there.
#- Go right. #- Go left.
Quinn- You are ursupred by the power of the maze and are helpless to fight it's draw. It leads you in but stops and releases you as you land at a three way intersection. The leftward path is a tad chilly and you can see vines growing along the walls. The forward path is of temperate temparture but you can hear steady drips of water and flickering ....candlelight? To the right you feel a warm breeze and can see some ashes littering the floor. Which way will you tread?
#- Go right. #- Go left. #- Go forward.

Jane wrinkled her nose at the smell of blood in the air. Someone or something had died here fairly recently. "Quinn...?" Jane called out softly hoping to find her daughter. She looked around and checked down both paths hoping for a sign anything that would tell her where Quinn had gone.
She bit her lip hard enough drawing a bit of blood which she swiped away with her tongue before deciding that if there was any justice in the world, Quinn would try to get back to where they had been separated. Jane took a deep breath and took the path to the right.
Quinn gasped as the maze released her. She looked around realizing that she'd been separated from her mother. She whimpered softly and held her cutter tight to her body. She looked at the three passages and shuddered. It was almost without conscious decision that she immediately plowed forward toward the sound of water and the glow of the light, her fear of the dark overwhelming her. Right now she just wanted to be able to see.

Jane- This path takes you to a bend in the road that leads towards a crossroads. You can faintly hear the sounds of running water and a small puddle is formed from water in a bend ahead, the path gets slightly brighter. To the left the hall comes to a quick end, and to the right it leads to a two-way intersection.
#- Continue forward. #- Go left. #- Go right.
Quinn- The water and cool, moist air take you to a turn off to your right. It is immediately darker there and a disgusting heat eminates from the sinful place.
#- Continue forward. #- Go right.

Jane looked down all the halls and sighed. There was no sign of Quinn at all. She bit her lip and tried to think. She checked all the paths again before shaking her head and continuing forward hoping something would happen.
Quinn swallowed hard. This wasn't what she'd been expecting to find. She trembled slightly unsure which way to go. Before she realized she found herself making her way into the heat and what ever lays beyond.

Jane- Your choice takes you to the mysterious drawing three way split. Two paths head different ways left while one goes right, but you came from there.
#- Go left into the flickering light. #- Go left into the warmth. #- Go right, complete your circle.
Quinn- This leads you to a very confusing decision. There are literally four ways to go. Forward takes you more into the volcano like heat, the first path to the left you can hear bell noises from, while the second left path has something like a 3 or W or M or a sigma carved into the wall. The right is dark and alone seeming. #- Continue forward. #- Go right. #- Left to the bells. #- Left to the W/M/3 thing.

Jane frowned and looked around. This place was quiet too quiet, and it was starting to grate on her nerves. It was then the flickering light caught her attention. She figured a little light might help all the way around and headed towards it figuring it was another good place to look for Quinn.
Quinn looked around and sighed. Why did things like this keep happening to her...? She figured she'd never know and looked around. It was then the strange carving caught her attention. She sighed and went off to investigate it hoping it would point a way out or something.
