Monty looked from one path to the other, brightness to darkness. Turning to Sher, she put her helmet on, feeling oddly empty without Pi in it. "I'll take the dark path," she said confidently.
Sher nodded gratefully. "Thanks. I'd rather take the light." With that, he stepped into the brighter of the two tunnels, with the sound of Monty's swishing tail veering into the other tunnel to the right.

Monty- You take your favored dark path and come at an intersection. One way seems to have an odd infusion of light while the other continues in darkness.
#- Go right. #- Go left.
Sherman- You soon loose all sounds from the other path as you go further and further down the staircase found on the path you took. A hallway is continuing in a flat plane from the stairs. You find a pile of cobwebs on your way down the cavernous halls.
#- Investigate [Randomize 1-12] #- Ignore it and continue.

Monty looked either way and shrugged. Backing up, she closed her eyes and pointed her arm, launching herself into a lunge. She opened one eye; her arm was pointed to the right. "Works for me," she murmured, and she walked into the righthand tunnel.
Sher stared at the cobwebs a bit apprehensively. Tentatively, he pulled out his sword and poked at them.

Monty- Now you are on the path that shimmers with a light that gets brighter as you go. The smell of cinnabuns is in the air for some reason and you arrive at another crossing. Forward is an area of even brighter light while left is a dead end of sorts. To the right is darkness once again.
#- Go right. #- Go left. #- Go forward.
Sherman- As you pull out your sword, you notice that a chopstick got lodged on the end of it. You are forced to pocket it by some invisible force and continue to the intersection. There are three ways to go with the left path brightly lit, the foward path in dim light and the right in the deepest darkness.
#- Go forward. #- Go left. #- Go right.

"No point in going into a dead end," Monty declared out loud. She was distracted by the heavenly sent of cinnamon buns. s**t. Now I have a craving. When I get out of here, I'm getting some freaking cinnabuns. Confidently she went back into the darkness to the right. "I'm here to finish the job I came for--explore ze dark!" She allowed herself a single evil cackle and fell silent once again.
Sher pulled the strange chopstick off his sword delicately, surprised that the plasma edge didn't fry the thing. He shoved it into his chestplate (lacking pockets), aware as he did so that some invisible force was compelling him. Okay, which way to go? He could hardly see well in the dark and the bright light in the tunnels was too unearthly for him. He stepped cautiously forward into the dimmer light of the center path, wondering as he did if he should cloak himself for extra protection.

Monty- You get the sense that you've been turned around. But that's impossible since you're heading the same way down the same path. You shrug or something and continue on until you reach a three way parting. You can't see an end for any path so guessing is your only option.
#- Go right. #- Go left. #- Go forward.
Sherman- Nothing is hiding here and you arrive at a chest at the end of the hall.
#- Investigate [Randomize 1-12] #- Turn back.

Monty looked around and sighed, feeling uncomfortable. "How can I get lost?" she muttered. "I'm going straight, I don't think I've turned around...oh well." With a sigh she tried the same trick as before--point and lunge. This time, she was pointing to the left. "Well, that's a relief," she muttered, and she plunged once more into the tunnel, nervously flicking on her radar unit. She wasn't sure how long it could run without Pi--that's what AIs were for. But for now she had it, and she was going to use it, by God! With a swift glance at the ceiling, she sang a soft but baudy song as she wandered down the corridor.
Sher stepped forward confidently. So far, so good. His luck wouldn't last forever, but he was going to try it anyway. He walked over to the chest and tried to open it, setting his sword into its holster on his thigh.

Monty- You're in for a fairly long walk this time around...long...boring...and dark. What the hell. And your radar unit seems to be jammed...another problem. The readings were all over the place...certainly not going to be of any help to you here. A tsktsking sound floats upon the air, so you know it's a deliberate jam. Best to put it away, so you don't make anybody angry. Sooner or later - probably later, it's a long dark tunnel, after all - you're confronted with three choices...all of them look the same. Left, forwards...or right.
#- Let's take a wander down the left path. #- Keep going straight and true. #- Right...we'll take the right.
Sher- The chest lid creaked open, revealing a piece of a bowl. Well then, looks like you got lucky a second time. You exit the room...and you have two choices, right or left, as forwards would lead you out of the maze.
#- Left path, towards...a...wall? #- Right path, to the bright light!

Monty sighed. She knew interference when she saw it. Shapes in weird forms and bizarre images floated across the inside of her visor. With a flick, she turned it off. "Sorry," she muttered out loud. "I guess I was giving myself too much of an advantage, huh?" She looked from one path to the other. Left, she decided randomly. Left sounds good. With that, she walked left, shivering a little in spite of herself. She hadn't felt this alone in nearly ten years.
Sher tucked the bowl fragment into his chest plate along with the chopstick. He wondered what it all meant--could bowl fragments be glued together to create another bowl? Was such a Frankenstein fantasy true? I'll ask Dad about it, he'll know. He looked from left to right. The choice was clear. He could go to the left, investigate the wall, and then turn back to the right. With a shrug, he moved left and looked at the wall.

Monty- You've decided to take the left path, and after a short jaunt with no further oddities, you come upon a mirror on a ledge. What do you do now?
#- Lean against the ledge and look into the mirror. #- ...what's this on the ground, first? Inspect. [ Randomize 1 - 12 ] #- Turn around and try another path.
Sherman- As you near the wall, you notice a brick that's slightly sticking out of the wall, as though there might be something behind it. Do you try and move it out, or do you ignore it and turn around?
#- Try and move the brick [ Randomize 1 - 12 ] #- Huff and turn around, taking the last path available to you.
Pleast Note! If both foxes attempt to investigate, simply roll two 12-sided dice.

The darkness was almost stifling to Monty as she glanced around. Blackness. Well, what did I expect? With a sigh, she whipped out her sword. "It's just for a minute," she murmured to the spirits of the maze. "I'll put it away as soon as I...what's that?" She tilted her head and knelt down to inspect the floor.
Sher ran his hand along the wall to keep sight. The feel of the brick against his fingers gave him reason to pause. "Hello," he murmured, and, with a waggle of his jaws, he cautiously pulled on the brick.

The brick pops completely out from the wall, and a faint squeal is heard before...a snout pokes from the pace where the brick had been? It pops out farther, and suddenly, a bulging head follows, squeezing from the tiny hole and popping out in front of you.
Talk about hammer space! This little guy popped out of nowhere!
With the appearance of your familiar, its eyes glow with temporary outburst of magic from the Guardians of the maze and you're all transported back to the basement. ...obviously, you've found something worthwhile, and were transported...safely...back. Monty appears seconds later. It appears your adventure has ended...
