I'm planning on going into service when i'm older, but I'm unsure. Is my JROTC program good for any branch of the military? Because i'm in Navy JROTC, but I plan on going into another branch if possible. But before I go into service, i'm going to ROTC first.

If you plan on going to the service, it does not matter what branch it is. My brother and myself took 4 years of NJROTC. He joined the Marines and was able to get the additional rank and pay-grade. If you are planning on going to the college ROTC then here's what you need to expect.
You will sign a contract that you will serve a full term in the military as an officer. You will be restricted to the type of military your ROTC offers. You may attend any college ROTC in the area, so long as you are able to make it to the class.
I've heard of offers where you can get your ENTIRE college education payed for by enrolling in the ROTC. That includes books, dorms, supplies, and tuition. and even a little pocket money on the side. My friend who graduated from my NJROTC this past year got one of those 'full-ride scholarships' with the Marines and is now off getting his free education. ( i don't know why everyone i know who joins goes to the Marines... <_<)
I believe another way to join at officers rank is to get a 4 year college degree and be recruited under some kind of agreement to go to OCS (Officer Candidate School) right after basic.
Since my ASVAB score was so high i remember talking with my local Navy recruiter about doing OCS and being commissioned into their Nuclear Program.
Most of the time, your local recruiter won't know much about it. (99% of the time your local recruiter is NOT an officer) But if you're lucky like me, you'll have an officer as your SNSI who you can talk to.
i hope this information was useful! ^_^

Thanks for the help. biggrin
I think most of those people joine the marines because they think the marines are the best. Well, if they were, then would we need an army, navy, airforce, coast guard, and special forces? ninja

Fredrick Baron Thanks for the help. biggrin I think most of those people joine the marines because they think the marines are the best. Well, if they were, then would we need an army, navy, airforce, coast guard, and special forces? ninja XD burn him mate XD, lol I'd go army they have many jobs open and like anyother branch ... you do 4 years college with rotc and go in as an officer and wont have to see any combat if you dont want to ... me personally I want combat ... but the army has jobs for helichoper pilots, tanks driver, infantry, medical, engeneering, comminication ... ect. they have alot more than most of the branches have to offer ... plus if we go to war with canada (highly likely) lol Army goes first ... not marines ... marines are the shore troops ... who touch the foriegn shores ... so Army can move in ^^

Every branch of service has their own fair share of jobs... but i think the Navy, by far, has the most diversity. From foot soldiers to fighter jets, on sea, on land, and in the air. They have hover crafts, amphibious armor, multi-purpose strike fighters, Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles capable of delivering warheads within feet of it's target, Sea-faring helicopters, prestigious special forces. Not to mention that the entire Marine Corps falls under the Navy's jurisdiction.
With their tech ranging from advance satellites to the most advance Nuclear program on the planet. I'm sure almost everyone can find a niche they can fill within the Navy.
I just went through all the job charts after talking to recruiters in each branch and can already tell you most of the concentration of their jobs.
Marines- Boots on the ground, very few technical jobs. Superior ground training and combat tactics make them the first boots in the combat zone (they're not restricted to shores... <_<) capable of providing their own air support and medium sized armor.
Army- Boots on the ground, the most technical they get is Mobil Command Centers. Provide the bulk of the military and have the lowest requirements. Also provides the heaviest land ordinance. secure and occupy territory after the initial advance. (no easy task, the US military can cover a lot of ground very very fast.)
Navy- Very tech centered, has a bit of everything, moves the heavy equipment for major operations. Moves the Marines where they need to go, provides off-shore support to ground forces (close air support, supplies, missile strikes, radar support and relay communications) ALSO, if you're looking for some of the most intense action around, apply for the Navy's Corpsman. (the Marines Medics)
Airforce- Superior tech, centered around avionics and radar systems, least boots on the ground but is the major mover of supplies. Is the most essential support role in the military.
