“Tsch… this city is a bit too big for my tastes… but why I needed to ‘learn to spread my wings’ now I’ll have no idea.” A young red-headed female muttered to herself as she slowly explored the streets of her new home. It had been shortly after she turned 18 that her parents had lovingly told her that she needed to move out and get a place of her own… learn more independence. So, off to the city from a small town out in the hills she’d gone with some money that had been saved and a place lined up to live in when she got there. Having spent the last several weeks getting settled in and trying to make the place seem more homey…. Not all that upset with her parents. They did have a point, and had made it quite clear that it wasn’t because of anything she had done or not done. Still… home sickness got her time and again, and that’s when the roaming through the city had started.

She’d had everything a person needed to start off a new life, and had managed to find some kind of income helping out a friend of the family at their establishment. Ok, so maybe she wasn’t completely on her own, but Laoise wasn’t about to say as much to anyone that might over-hear. This current venture was out looking for a little something to add a bit of home to her new place so that maybe these trips would be a bit less frequent. More often than not she’d gotten a few odd looks from people, thinking that she was some kind of hooligan teenager with nothing better to do than cause trouble and vandalize things. Like she’d actually take the time out of reading one of her books or making a new accessory piece in her free time to destroy something belonging to someone else.

Fuming a little at the memory, Laoise ended up taking a turn down a road she hadn’t been down before... all caught up in her thoughts and noticing too late that this was unfamiliar territory. “Lovely… now I’m lost… “ she mumbled, sighing deeply and taking a glance up at the sky and shaking her head. Last thing she’d wanted was another ‘adventure’ though the city. Though as she was looking around for a familiar land-mark, Laoise noticed a small shop down the street a little more which was marked ‘Solace Scents’. “Hmm… can’t hurt to take a look at least…” as she walked over to the front door and gave a small tug on it.. taking a small peek inside before going on in.

A wave of smells assaulted her nose as soon as the door opened, making her sigh happily. She’d always loved different smelling things… having hoped to find a place like this at some point. ‘Maybe someone is looking out for me today after all…” she thought to herself while instantly immerging herself in the various scent bottles that were organized there. Pouring over all the little lables one by one and savoring the smells of the ones that she’d decided to sniff. This certainly seemed the thing that she needed to make her new place more homey… and was sure that she’d find something before she left.

Everything smelled amazing, though some of them Laoise kinda wondered if people actually enjoyed, but who was she to question what people found soothing? Little more than half way through her exploration, she came across the one that fit was looking for perfectly. Black Raspberry Vanilla. Taking one small whiff of it made her think of the pies her mother would make in the fall with some of the first harvest of berries, and the vanilla adding a nice variety to it as well. Without thinking twice, Laoise scooped up the scent bottle and then went to look for a holder and some candles to burn the oil with. Just thinking about the pies was making her tummy start to rumble while heading towards the cash register to make her purchase.
