located to the south of the castle, which stands on a cliff overlooking the water
the lake is approximately a half-mile in diameter (GF26)
various creatures live in the lake:
giant squid
merfolk
grindylows

Rose sat on a dock overlooking the lake. She often spent most of her off time here when she wasn't busy with classes. The water called to her, beckoned with its beautiful sparkle. She sat and watched the sunset, wondering where life would take her.
After the sunset had ended she stood up and headed back towards the big castle that is Hogwarts and headed straight for her common room.
